This is not a formal recruiting thread. I'm kind of interested in doing a Spelljammer campaign and just wanted to gauge some interest.
To those who don't know, Spelljammer is D&D in space, but kind of a wacky space with ships open to the environment. I'd be running this off of some various stuff which I'd make available as homebrew. It's going to take some time to get going.
My basic idea is that the characters start off on an asteroid city near a planet with not a lot of direct contact with the spacefolk. Players would either spaceborn, living on the asteroid itself, or newly arrived from the planet below, whether kidnapped or recruited we will have to figure out.
We'd start at first level, progressing quickly to third before slowing down a little, hopefully making good choices to secure a vessel and the helm that powers it by then.
So any interest?

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past, I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone, there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
I’m interested! I ran a Dark Matter campaign for a bit and have read up on Spelljammer stuff for campaigns run by others (they never made it far). So I like this stuff.
Very interested, if you're looking for any additional rules I've got access to an awesome 5e sci-fi conversion called Dark Matter that has some really fun (and in my opinion, balanced) ship rules, as well as other space stuff.

"Ignorance is bliss, and you look absolutely miserable."
I'm completely new to this (and D&D to some degree) but definitely interested and ready to learn. Might need a hand as to where and how to create a character in this particular setting.
My first character was a Communist Gnome Wizard with a Scottish accent named Gargamel Starblaze who ran a helmship for a crew of forty-some pressed sailors. Another player was a Charisma-based rogue who became my political officer and kept them in check. By midgame their crew rating had gone from green to veteran and we were a functioning throwback to the crew of the Hunt for Red October. It was beautiful comrade. I'd love to play again!
I would be very interested. I have a character that I think would be perfect in a Spelljammer campaign that can be adapted depending on character creation guidelines you have

I will protect those I hate. Even ... even if the one I hate most ... is ... myself.
I'm very interested. I've never done it myself, but I've heard tales from many of my old school friends.

I'm still interested. Didn't realize this was a different thread at first. Love Spelljammer.
