I am recruiting for a campaign that takes place in my world of Niersala. The heroes main objective would be to prevent an army of goblins, hobgoblins, and bugbears from attacking Freeport City. Other (homebrew) creatures such as akreni (similar to aakocra and kenku), grilleni (intelligent apes), and pigeni (orcs) from the Dark Realm may be involved. Giants and dragons may also make an appearance later in the campaign.
This campaign will take characters from level 1 as far as possible. I need between three and six players.
This should be encounter heavy with some role-play. Humans (Umeni), elves (Liroseni), dwarves (Darveni), gnomes and half-elves are common in Niersala, but I am willing to admit any character that is not too broken.
I'll show my interest, followed similarly by a few questions.
I'm ever so slightly leaning more towards a preference for RP, myself, but it's so slight, some of my favorite campaigns feature virtually none.
So, for character creation, is there something specific in mind? Could be about the characters' backstory, or even the mechanical side, like what books are we using and which method for deciding ability are we gonna use.
I would love to play a Tabaxi wizard , probably bladesinger, who has a love for knives and a distaste for goblin kind, as her original family was overrun by their kind before she was taken in my an elven school of magic by one of the enchanters who had an affinity for animals. I can flesh out a deeper backstory with you DM, or switch races if you require.
probsbly have a liroseni name and relations, and not really know any other tabaxi, like an adopted son. If that doesn’t fit anywhere in your world I will come up with something else.
Some tabaxi may be found in the "laboratory" forests of Kh'tai Wood to the north, or might hail from the jungles of the islands of Tiplia to the south of Frelia. Any other such creature would probably come from the Dark Realm, a failed experiment of the Dark Lord. Here are some links with some background info: https://niersalahome.wpcomstaging.com/2019/11/27/the-perversions-of-the-dark-lord
Whichever of those regions would be most likely visited by elven researchers! Would be most fitting, perhaps the khotai woods would cool to me.
also, is this a high magic world? Like might it be possible later in the game to purchase a feather fall spell or do I need to make sure I grab it now?
I am almost ready to start, a few things to finish up…
Welcome to Freeport, travelers (or toreni, as the Liroseni call you adventurous folk). As you make your way through the city, either from the port area or through one of the gates leading into the town, you notice a mix of people: elves, dwarves, and humans mingle freely in the streets. You know that this is the largest port in all of Niersala, a likely place to find adventure. Your first stop should be at the Frelian Defense Forces' (FDF's) station nearby. Posted there you will notice a sign warning of goblin activity in the hills north and east of the town. The notice goes on to say anyone interested in helping to defend Freeport should contact Joe Smith, an agent of the Eternal Elemental Coven currently residing at the Inn of the Swan in the Port District.
( Ooc: Can anyone who can grab an extra light cross bow in their starting equipment do that and share? Would be much appreciated for the lvl 1 wizard lol. )

On second thought, let's wait until we have a couple more players before we do character intros.
I am waiting for one or two more players before we get started.
Is this an encounter heavy campaign? Or mostly RP social?
I would be interested in something with a good amount of encounters :) not to say I don’t enjoy RP!
And races you prefer for your campaign?

Do you have a first level character, Pertuie?
