There are many great applications, making this decision a hard one. I will make my choices tomorrow night 4/28/22. If any have not completed the application yet, then please do so before tomorrow night.
Race: Custom Lineage (if not allowed then Variant Human)
Class/Subclass: Bloodhunter/Order of the Lycan
Background: Urchin
Backstory:
It was a cold night and fog covered the streets like a veil. Noah had just left his shift at The Nightingale, a somewhat decent tavern halfway between the Trade and the Factorem, where he worked serving tables. Not the most glorious of jobs, but enough for him to make ends meet and still keep some coin. In a few years he would be able pay a local pharmacist for an apprenticeship. A profession always in demand, on which he would toil less and gain more. A comfortable life without imposing on his parents. Plans that alas, were not to be. As a blood curling howl echoed through the air, he felt something pulling his body. Pain took hold of his mind as fangs buried deep into his flesh, taking the air of his lungs and the voice of his throat. A beast of some sort held him, clawed at him. Oh, I’m dead, he thought surprised with his own calm and then his vision went dark.
He woke later. How much later he could not know for sure. Soon enough a nurse appeared to tell he was at a hospital. By the next morning some guards came to speak with him, ask about the attack. Two days later another group of soldiers of the Protectorate arrived, stating that similar assaults had happened again and that in order to protect him as a witness of incident he would be transferred to a different facility. A lie. In fact, the second group of men were subordinated to a man they referred to as Professor and took him to a hidden laboratory.
Upon arrival Noah discovered that in his tests the hospital found he was afflicted by lycanthropy and this made him particularly resilient to damage. A perfect test subject, used to test the effects of alchemical substances, spells and even weapons. Each day was a new Hell and soon enough he lost the notion of time, the substances and rituals gradually changing the very nature of his being. So numb was his mind that he only came to understand the sounds of battle in the laboratory when masked men opened his cell and called him free.
They were part of the Ossric Alliance and had been tracking facilities such as this Professor’s laboratory. They raided the place and released the captives and offered shelter. Most wanted to return to their old lives, but soon the agents of the alliance showed that those lives had ended. Each and every one of the freed had been declared dead. In Noah’s case, as far as the official accounts went, he didn’t resist his wounds and perished in the hospital two years ago. The Alliance could arrange them new identities, but they would need to start from zero. That, or they could join the ranks and fight against the kind who preyed on them in the first place. Noah choose the later, almost dreaming on repaying the Professor for his courtesy.
NAME: Benji Baxter (aka Ben the Resourceful) RACE: Variant Human (Feat - Telekinetic (INT)) (SUB)CLASS: Order of Scribes Wizard 3 BACKGROUND: Sage CHARACTER SHEET:https://ddb.ac/characters/72350277/qWKeTq BACKSTORY:
Born the youngest of eight siblings to a wizard father and librarian mother, Benji always knew he wanted to be a wizard. A precocious child, the magic of his family early on manifested as telekinetic abilities by age 5, and soon enough Benji was practicing real magic. He studied hard to become a mage, and graduated early with honors. He now spends his time traveling as one of the family mages, seeking adventure, earning an income, and "fulfilling his obligation to help mankind," as they would say.
"''Neutral', the cowards call themselves. Those who hide behind a mask of pacifism, claiming they merely wish to avoid conflict. Lies. They fear commitment. They fear getting involved. They fear standing for what they believe in. Instead, they look on and raise not so much as a finger. Those people disgust me."

Backstory
Judah was separated by his parents at a young age, and was forced to fend for himself on the streets of Pauperis. He made friends with a group of fellow young street urchins who became his new family in a way. However, they were all eventually arrested for thefts and/or killed. Over the years, he made many more friends, but they either died, left, or betrayed him. He survived through begging and odd jobs here and there. He even spent a couple years working in the mines, where he witnessed the mistreatment of those who toiled away in there. Eventually, he was taken in by a monastic order called the Ashul Dai, which was connected to the Ossric Alliance, and organization dedicated to protecting the people of Beldrift. Judah has seen the ugly underside of Beldrift, literally. He will not stand for the suffering of the city's less fortunate, and has dedicated his life to making a difference. While he serves as a member of the Ossric Alliance, he sees it as merely a vehicle for his own agenda, and his loyalty may turn elsewhere if their interests conflict...
Personality
Demeanor - Judah is not a cheerful person at first glance, never smiling, let alone laughing. At best, Judah will ignore jokes and friendly banter. However, beneath his perpetually frowning face, there is a sense of humor somewhere. Judah is very deadpan when speaking. He is brutally honest, direct, and to the point. He cares nothing for manners in conversation, openly criticizing anyone and everyone. However, he constantly maintains a refined and dignified appearance. Ideals - Judah values order, justice, and the courage to stand for what's right. He despises corruption, seeing it as a festering plague on civilized beings. Bonds - From the many hardships he has experienced, Judah has lost everything and everyone he's ever cared for. He is protective of those he sees genuine goodness in, but even then he constantly pictures how he might lose them as well, be it to outside forces, or their own flaws. Flaws - Judah is too pessimistic for his own good. He sees the worst in everyone, and trusts few. Each and every flaw in one's character stands out to him, which sows the seeds of disdain and distrust. His pursuit of order and justice is overzealous without doubt, and he is prone to violent judgement.
Appearance
Judah has a tall, thin figure. His eyes are an opaque, milky white color, as the result of an odd trait that ran in his family. His head is shaven and he possesses a tattoo on his face, marking him as a user of the shadow arts of the Ashul Dai. He wears the monks' black and white vestments as his daily garb.
