Listening to the others, Kerri eventually looks to Lancelin. Once she catches his attention, she makes a few hand signals to him. It would seem a series. Seeming satisfied she grabs a small portion of vegetables and the mutton which was carved to put on her plate. She quickly starts to eat. Part way through she again glances to Lanceling, making a few more hand gestures. She then takes another drink of her ale.
Having noticed that Kerri can't (won't?) speak Doc spend some time during the ride and the feast to see the gestures and translations between Kerri and Lancelin. Hopefully he can learn some basic gestures to communicate with Kerri for when she needs help.
(Not sure how this works, how fast it is possible to learn some basic sign language etc; also depends on how literal Lancelin's translations are I guess)
As his clothes are dried, Doc looks around the hall. Interesting accommodations, way different and smaller from the place he helped in before of course, but still nice.
He has learned it is rude to not eat or drink something when offered as a guest he takes a glass and some bites. But not much as he doesn't have the need to eat; it is nice sometimes, though. During the meal he'll sit opposite of Lancelin and Kerri and will try some small talk, even though he is not used to it. Although, it is soon turned into talk about the missing people. He listens intently before he asks his first question
"Was there any sign of injuries at the places where people were taken?"

Lancelin listens attentively to the others, turning to communicate with Kerri beside him for a moment and nodding. "Some questions. Does the fog come each night? Is it always starting at the swamp? Are there disappearances every night? Is it just one person per night? Is it individuals or groups?" He asks, turned to Nix, then turning back to Kerri for a moment and nodding, taking some more of the vegetables and the mutton on his plate.
"I assume you have ruled out there is any connection between the victims and that they are all random, but the disappearance of your Sun Warden just after he wanted you to seek outside help suggests his abduction was by design. If these events really are controlled somehow we would need to look for someone who stands to gain from the effects, someone who seeks to lead the people of Drynna out of their despair perhaps."
Other than the occasional nod in agreement, Mae ate rather quietly, although she appeared quite interested in everything being said. Now and then her gaze drifted around the hall, examining the banners and such, but always quick to return to the conversation at hand. She was particularly curious about the hand gestures between Kerri and Lancelin, although she wasn't entirely sure what they all meant, but a thought had begun to form in her mind. She held onto it for now, quickly finishing her repast and speaking again. "How long until we meet the Elders? I only need a few minutes at most to be ready."
"No signs of foul play just missing with the othersbut the Warden," Nix begins in reply to Doc but pauses to frown. "There was blood left behind and a sort of....icor," she adds as if unsure what word to use. "I'm sure someone has collected both," she finishes speaking to Doc then turns to answer Lancelin. "You misunderstood me. The disappearance of the Sun Warden is what prompted us into the action seeking outside help. Wardens and the wall watch were working together unsuccessfully. It's been random people not known as fighters when you lineup the missing. I would say no one who would have put up a fight unlike Warden Anders," she adds with a long sigh. "Presentable yes," she says with a weak tired smile at Mae. "I am the first to return with help I think," the young ranger exclaims proudly next standing from her chair. "Do we all need a moment or two to make ready," she asks pushing her own hands through her shortly shorn hair and tugging at her leathers over her burgundy tunic.
She gives the party a curious look as if awaiting their response.

With most of her food done, Kerri grabs her ale and quickly downs it. She quickly stands as it seems Nix has concluded answering questions. She looks mildly annoyed.
Once she catches the Sun Warden's gaze she makes a quick series of gestures. It ends with her raising her brow in a questioning look. She continues to stand, watching.
Lancelin looks up as Kerri stands beside him, then turning to Nix again. "I don't believe you answered her questions, the ones I put to you." He says with a smile, then emptying his mug of ale.
"I explained Warden Anders prompted the elders to seek outside help his abduction was obviously a struggle. The other missing are random but the other people aren't fighters of any sort," Nix explains again looking at Kerri and then Lancelin. "As for the other questions about the fog. Yes, it comes every night as I stated before from Rootgarden Marsh. As it stands before yes seems to be only one person each night goes missing but I having been gone nearly a week I can't account for much else," Nix adds.
OOC: I've answered most of those in previous posts but the party needs to investigate. I'm not sure why anyone would be annoyed by Nix or Ty, they've been nothing but agreeable.
Mae blinked and shrugged. "I can get ready on the way. Wouldn't be the first time I rushed to a performance." She flashed a wide grin and stood up and collect her things and stood ready, fixing herself up a bit as she waited.
"Yes, I suppose we are ready to see the elders then." Lancelin says with a quick smile and stands up. "If we were to try to find the source of the fog in the swamp would there be a guide available for us?"He asks Nix, ready to move on.
Mina listens in on the conversation, understanding that honestly the town doesn't have a clue. Interesting that one of their best fighters was taken by the mist as well, must be some form of magic then? She doubts the elders will have anything more to really add, they rarely do, but it's part of the process and she's ready to get moving. She truly wants to find her friend.
"I'm ready to go now, thanks for meal and drink. One quick question, from looking at all the banners in the hall, there are obviously seven important families in town.. other than the Sun Warden from one of the families, has any other disappeared from one of the other six?"
"I am the guide. As I said before I discovered the source of the fog is coming from Rootgarden Marsh but my fellow rangers were unable to uncover little else," Nix replies to Lancelin. "Anders is there," Nix answers Mina pointing at a banner with flying fish across a blue and black background only two banners away from her own family's banner. "Come to think of it yes! But only minor members of the families past and presently in power," she replies pausing as if suddenly realizing it too. "As for the seven they represents the current family's on the council. The seats are held for life and only come open due to death or dishonor," the young ranger explains still a little lost in thought. "The other banners are former houses in power," she adds smiling softly at the group before turning towards the door. "Odd isn't it? I gathered we're all related vaguely to someone or other in the village but all the people disappearing do have some or had some influence on those in power," she adds with slight unease on her face. "No...no one from my family yet though," she says back over her shoulder but before pushing open the door Ty reappears with almost a comical popping sound and a spark of green flame.
The pixie whispering something to Nix as he settles on her shoulder in his usual roost.
"Ah," Nix sighs loudly turning backto facethe party. "They have gathered and are awaiting an introduction," she explains as Ty looks as if he's gesturing at Nix but the party then sees her shorn hair soften in places and smooth down in others. "Best foot forward," she exclaims heading out of the hall into the cold drizzle.
Kerri nods at Nix's response, giving the warden a smile. She moves from her chair, hoping her armor and cloak are sufficiently 'presentable'. She grabs at her braided hair, still neatly in place despite the previous wetness. She grabs her halberd and is ready to depart.
Mae was quickly brushing her hair out as she watched the conversation, in a quick turn, shed her blander traveling clothes for a fancier costume that she carried with her for ad hoc performances. Her top was now a lower cut white silk shirt with flowing sleeves, and black leggings that hugged her curves just so. Even her shoes were changed out for a softer sole than used for traveling, with a silver buckle across the top. She stuffed the remains into her bag and nodded, "Well then let's not keep the Elders waiting!"
It was curious that the people missing were people of some influence, though on the surface this seemed not so unusual to Mae. Still, it seemed that this fog had purpose, intent. It may appeared randomly but it was sounding there there was definitely some sort of pattern. Like a returning chorus, slightly different each time but also the same...so who was playing the tune? To what end?
The party walks the short distance in the square towards the Sun Lodge which is on a raised mound. Nix leads the way jogging up the stone steps set into the earth to approach the front doors of the Sun Lodge but stops about six steps out of a dozen to look back at the party.
“House Yoxall is the head of the council at present. High councilor Yoxall will be in the center seat if seven seats can have a center,” Nix begins her nerves obvious and her age, for the first time, really shows. “Ah then there’s councilor Boniface. She’s a half-orc and uh…just don’t fixate on that if you have any reservations. Then there’s councilor Abrielle who’s basically in charge of the Sun Wardens, she’s a dwarf, and her aid in managing the defenses of Drynna councilor Vazaar,” she explains. “They’ll both be in armor and if they aren’t I’ll eat my bow,” she laughs nervously as Ty glows brightly and bends over with silent laughter. “Last there are the three men on the council. The younger is councilor Wycomb who’s a scribe really and the town’s historian. Then there’s an older man. Well, it's Anders uncle Baylyn Anders who's a stout man with dark hair. Last, there's councilor Tamsin. He was a part of the elves who originally founded Drynna eons before or so he likes to tell anyone who will stand around long enough to listen to him. He’s essential for something but honestly, I’ve been a part of all of this my life and I don’t know what,” she finishes with a nervous shrug and laughter. “Are we….no, no,” she says giving herself a shake, “Just address everyone as councilor if you forget the names,” she added before turning back from the party and charging up the remaining six steps. “Questions,” Nix says looking at each party member with an expression willing them to be ready before going into the Sun Lodge.
Mae thinks for a moment. "Do you know what the relations are like between the councilors? Just because someone is at the head doesn't mean they are the ones with the power. Any history between them we should know about?"
