Zack nods at the old Elf's gesture. He gets up and follows Jianyu out of the sewers and heads back to the inn. Zack doesn't trust Watl. He doesn't think Watl was lying about the murder of Cavyre but he doesn't trust the halfling as a whole. If he sees the exchange between Vosnin, Jahnun and Watl, Zack will hide and urge Jianyu to do the same. Stealth: 8 Zack will also try to listen in on their conversation. Perception: 16
"Ugh. Really? After the night I've had, you're going to bully the little guy?" Watl says, looking exhausted. "I like a good hug as much as the next guy, but I typically prefer companions with... softer features."

Jah'nun grins a twisted grin. "You saying you need a hug from me, Watl? I don't think it'd be as pleasant as you're imagining it would."
She pats Vosnin on the shoulder. "I think he's speaking truth, we just need to hear a little more of it, right, Vos?"
Narrowing her eyes at the halfling again she asks quietly, "You say Cavyre is dead? Not that he'll be missed much, but him being a member of our team and all, I think you need to tell us how it happened. So we know who to... hold responsible." Jah'nun lowers one hand to run a thumb along the edge of her axe, keeping her eyes steady on Watl.
Jianyu walks up with Zach who seems to be urging him to hide, but his frantic gestures have plainly given away notice already. He walks up to the group and places a comforting hand on Vosnin's shoulder, it seems he's just heard of their friend's passing. He looks troubled.
Jianyu gives the gathered party a look of sympathy and understanding.
"Ugh. Well, Raxor wasn't too keen on staying a prisoner. He clearly saw Cavyre as the biggest threat, since the kid could summon up demon dogs. I took care of him immediately after Cavyre was killed. Throwing knife. I got Raxor. They're both still down there with Zach, I think. Honestly, I was planning on offing the kid tonight, but poison is more my style. Less personal, painless, and no risk of being killed by your target. Now do you mind? I'm all sticky and it's getting really uncomfortable."

Jianyu takes back his hand from Vosnin's shoulder. He's taken aback by such cold words, such a sharp contrast to the frantic behavior Watl held earlier. The halfling must be trying to put on a tough face in front of these more hardened allies.
Bones, leaving the sewers behinds him, eventually returns to the inn. He properly bathes and washes his clothes as best he can before taking the evening's rest. He awakens from his trance about four hours later, spends another hour preparing his spells for the day. He'll head downstairs and ask whoever is in charge of the night desk about the comings and going of those in the inn. Depending on his response regarding the whereabouts of his compatriots and others, Bones will react accordingly.

Jah'nun casts Prestidigitation to clean the blood off Watl. Then she makes her pact weapon disappear and reappear in her hand briefly. Thinking out loud she says, "I wonder if Raxor had a pact like mine. A guy like that... it wouldn't matter if you disarmed him or not." Then she squeezes Watl's arm in sympathy. "I'm sorry we weren't there to back you up. Good thing you could handle it on your own." She is lying through her teeth, but hopefully the halfling will believe her in his distracted state, and give away something at a later time if it turns out he really isn't trustworthy. Meanwhile she will watch him like a hawk and do her best to stick to him like glue. (Deception: 21)
Trust awakes after a long night of rest. He feels well rested and untroubled. He takes down his alarm from the door and exits the basement. The sun shines on his crimson skin as steps outside and resets the lock. "I should really give this other key to someone else." he mumbles to himself. After briefly relieving himself an a dark ally near the sewer entrance he heads over to the Broken Barrel for some breakfast. "I really need to ask Bones who to pay for the storage space too." He sees a clump of his compatriots huddled around and he hustles his little legs over. "Good morning everyone, I lost track of you last night, that is I didn't see where you went, not that I was tracking you ... Some of you look like you could use some rest, I mean no offense, of course."
Should I ask Jahun and Vosnin about the footprint? Wrong question. It's not about whether I should ask them but where and when I should ask them. The old elf trusts Watl so it is not a good idea to ask in front of him. I should wait for a while longer.
Zack will wait around for a bit to see if Jianyu leaves. He wants to get some time alone with Jahnun or Vosnin or both. If he is able to get the time, he will ask them, "By the way... Watl has probably filled you in on what happened. Do you guys... know anything outside of what he said? Like, if he, Cavyre and Raxor were the only ones down there?" If Zack doesn't get the opportunity, he won't say the above and just head to bed.
(Does Zack get Long Rest or did he go to bed too late to do that?)
Bones: One of the wenches, Laura, dark hair and a little shorter than the others, asks, "Who are you looking for? Some have been coming and going."
Zack: As you stand there hoping to get time alone, Watl does head back to the 'Broken Barrel' but Jianyu is still there and then Trust appears with a greeting. (Zack if you sleep in you can still get a long rest.)

Jah'nun shoots Vosnin a silent look and makes a hand gesture that her mother taught her and the dwarf would understand meaning I'm going to shadow that one. Then she slips into an alley, quickly uses Disguise Self to look like a young street urchin again, and follow Watl at a distance. Back at the inn she will find a good vantage point to keep an eye on him if he leaves. Then she waits. (Stealth, if needed, 15)

"Raxor and Cavyre are dead. Zach can fill you in on what happened. I'm in desperate need of a wash and some sleep. We'll talk in the morning."
Watl slips past them after his brief explanation and heads into the inn to wash up and rest.

I won’t allow the halfling to leave. “You’re not going anywhere, friend...” I grab him to hold him as he tries to pass by me.

"Nifty little trick, that. I might have to learn it myself, some day," Watl says before heading off to the inn to sleep.
The halfling sleeps in late, as has been his norm lately, and rises quite a bit later than the others.
