Jarin grins, "Yes one can dream. I, however, love to make my dreams a reality. I may offer a schematic for your vessel that might improve your speed for travel... but I will only offer it if you feel it would benefit."
Jarin then turns and heads into the ship, intrigued as to the craftsmanship and how it is built.
Perran Steps over to the captain and holds the apple almost as if he would want to hand it back Thanks He then picks the man's hat off of his head and inspects it closely, even sniffing it.Good hat, well made he says as he puts it back on the captains head and pats it down. He then finds himself a spot on the deck from where he can keep as much of the boat in sight as possible. He then breaks the apple apart and picks out the seeds before he eats the halfs in one bite each. He puts the seeds into a small pouch.
"Well, this is certainly… different," the tall, slender (one might almost say scrawny) elf comments on the captain's attire as he catches the apple and inspects it critically. His tone makes it clear that "different" is meant in a derogatory sense. "Still, as long as we reach our destination with all possible speed I'm sure it will be fine. My… ah, employer, doesn't like to be kept waiting."Though just why I'm being sent on this little voyage, I don't know. I'm sure it will become apparent when I get there.
The day is late when Lyra Nightingale finally arrives at the dock. Her quest for answers has brought her to Sword Coast, following a small lead into her parents’ untimely demise. Luckily, she has managed to secure herself a small job. Two birds with one stone - she can keep her money pouch from shrinking any further while possibly gathering information on her personal matter. And in the case that the lead is wrong, she will be left with the solace of having worked anyway.
As Lyra boards the ship, she resolves to make the most of the journey. Despite the heavy weight of her past, she wears a warm, friendly smile, as she goes around to introduce herself and greet the other passengers and the flamboyant crew.
“My name is Lyra Nightingale! A bard, adventurer, and muse at your service! A pleasure to make your acquaintance!”
To her, the ship looks more like a big boat, but Lyra doesn’t mind. It’s nice enough, cosy even, its crew hard at work. The bard watches them hustling, taking in their colourful garments and accessories. She feels like they are the same breed as her.
The vibrant atmosphere around her, so different from the sombre mood she often finds herself in, inspires her. She begins to compose a song in her mind, a melody that captures the spirit of adventure and the promise of new beginnings.
On the Sword Coast we sail, with the wind in our sails, Seeking answers to questions, where truth never fails.
Her thoughts are interrupted by the captain’s speech. He, too, looks as flamboyant as the rest of the ship.
She puts her apple in the backpack, saving it for later. It’s not good to eat just before going into the open sea.
As the man walks away, Lyra decides to approach him.
“Captain Ray, was it?” She asks, extending her hand for a handshake. “I’m Lyra Nightingale. I must say, I’m quite intrigued by your ship and crew. It’s not every day you see a vessel as lively and colourful as this one.”
She briefly glances around at the bustling activity on the deck before returning her gaze to the captain. “I happen to be a bard, so if you or your crew would like some live entertainment, I’d be more than happy to oblige,” she adds with a twinkle in her eye.

“My name is Lyra Nightingale! A bard, adventurer, and muse at your service! A pleasure to make your acquaintance!”
Jarin regards the half-elf for a moment, then replies in elvish, "Greetings to you Miss Nightingale." Jarin returns the smile and returns to his personal inspection of the vessel, allowing his light golden braid of hair fall to one side as his sea- green eyes scan the details in front of him.
Daveth strides up the gangplank with a smile, enjoying the Morning Lord's warm sunlight upon his face and excited for his journey. He offers Captain Ray his hand, "No apologies necessary Captain, I'm just thankful for the ride." He accepts the apple and stows it in his pack for now. He'll then head over to whichever railing provides him the best view of the sea and wait in quiet contemplation on the tasks ahead.
**All of this is great! Feel free to roam about, chat with eachother, chat with any of the other passengers. This prologue is pretty much whatever you want to get out of it.
After a brief bit of contemplation, Daveth will turn and observe the others aboard the ship. Seeing a few similarly well-armed and armored folk among those above deck, he will approach them and introduce himself, "Hail, the and may the Morning Lord bless our journey. My name is Daveth Dawnbringer." He will then offer his hand to any that would shake it. You see that he is a human, just shy of 6 feet tall with brown hair and blue eyes. He appears to be in his mid-thirties and his face has light stubble with a soul patch and mustache. Daveth wears a suit of chainmail over which he also wears a white tabard with the symbol of Lathander sewn in gold thread. There is a mace at his hip and a shield on his back with another symbol of Lathander painted in gold. "What brings you all aboard The Compass Rose? I myself am on a bit of a quest to seek out lost artifacts and relics, and return them to my home temple."

Jarin turns to face Daveth, his sea- green eyes reviewing the cleric with interest. He grabs Daveth's hand in a firm hand shake, "It is a pleasure to meet a man of religious convictions. I am Jarin Clemmins, an inventor of sorts. I am more about the protection and safety of others."
Jarin pauses for a moment with a quizzical face, then says, "Who's this Lord of the Morning that you speak of?" You can see that there is a intricate longsword sheathed on his side. Close by is an interesting contraption that looks like a bent wand with metal infused into it, and on this elf's back is a staff with a flat and wide end with metal infused into it as well.
Daveth smiles and nods as Jarin speaks, "Hopefully we don't require any protection on this trip, but I am glad to have you aboard all the same." Daveth's face lights up at the mention of Lathander, "Oh, are you not familiar with the Morning Lord? He is also known by other monikers; Lathander is the most common, but there is also Inspiration's Dawn, Bringer of the Dawn, Lord of Birth and Renewal, and Mentor of Self-Perfection. There are more, but it is not His name that is of import, but His work!" Daveth gestures to the sunlight sparkling on the waves of the sea, "His light gives life, beauty, energy to all things. It drives away evil and darkness. As a Dawnbringer, I have been charged with bringing His light wherever I go." He stops and removes his pack, rummaging through it, "I have a few spare pamphlets if you're interested... Ah, here! Take two, you can share with a friend!" Daveth hands Jarin the pamphlets and dons his pack once more. Noticing the contraptions about Jarin's person, he says, "Interesting pieces of equipment. Are they of Gnomish design? I once went on mission to a Gnomish village in the Sumber Hills. Crafty folk."

Jarin eyes the pamphlets but doesn't grab them, "No offense Daveth, but I have no need for those." After the mention of his pistol and rifle, Jarin grins a bit, "These are my design...I created them..." then Jarin's demeanor changes to a more serious tone..."as for gnomes being crafty folk, I would heartily agree."
Jarin faces out toward sea, suddenly deep in thought. You faintly see his hair change colors from a light blond to a slight gold- brown... then he faces Daveth, "Apologies, I was caught up in my thoughts. I am glad to have such a bright perspective along on this journey... thank you for that. "
After the newcomer, Shiv arrived at the boat with a fine sheet of sweat on her forehead. After finishing with her mark she came back to the inn to arrange the payment of the contract and she encountered another agent asking the wench. She had to run out of the main routes and hide for a while before coming into the vessel. Shiv is a 5ft 2" toned woman who dresses in black tight breaches, a dark navy blue shirt, and a black long hood that covers his black her.
Entering the boat she can tell that she is surrounded by a too-merry companionship: there is a bard who starts cracking some tunes: the cleric chatting with a hopeful smile about the lord: and the gnome bragging about his possessions... The boat in general seemed more like a circus than a vessel. She rested her back against one of the masts, watching with her saxe blue eyes. Someone addressed, in general, all the passengers. She had taken off her hood, and tried to mingle a little, at the end of the day she must be overlooked and not seen as an assassin. Her demeanor changed, her shoulders relaxed, and a smile cracked on her face looking around.
"Hello there! umm, My name is Lillian! And I am excited to run adventures! But most of all I am looking for my lost mother as she was kidnapped long ago!" She indeed was looking for her (that B****), but no, she was not kidnapped, oh no..."I'm happy to start this quest!"
She made herself look approachable and peppy. Even walked towards the captain to thank him for taking her as a passenger, taking his hand gently between hers.
(So she is going to cover as much as she can about herself, as she is being chased and does not trust any other passenger in case is one of her chasers. Daveth will blink in surprise, "Oh, are you sure? I have plenty..." He will hold the pamphlets in his hand for now, sure that he will find a home for them among those gathered around. "Well, if ever you are interested in the future, please don't hesitate to ask!" Daveth will look over the strange contraptions that Jarin created, "And I am glad to have such an industrious companion to travel with!"
“Oh, you flatter me!” He touches you with a flirty blush. “No, unfortunately extravagance like this is beyond me at the moment. But one can dream!”
