NicoBones333. They said they have some “REAL life cleric” duties to attend to on Saturdays. Or they could be a nurse, or it could be some religious thing.
Zaupu is a traditional berserker barbarian. He loves to go all out on fights, but he also loves to drink just as hard after a victory. You can say lives a balanced life. LOL He is not good with animals, but he does not mind the occasional guard duty to help protect them. He secretly wishes for someone/something to attack the herd on his watch or for a rival tribe to attack, just so he has an excuse to fight. Well, I say secret, but everyone knows. He may not talk about it normally, but when he gets a few drinks in him, he tells everyone all about his wish. Of course he forgets what he says the next day, so he believes it is still a secret.
We have a main thread that's just the members of the tribe interacting with each other. It's pure roleplaying.
Then we make other threads to track specific adventures (with no more than 5 players at a time). That way, you can all be part of the tribe together, and part of an over-arching story, but we don't get overwhelmed.
Please quote this post and let me know your feelings on this.
Hi. Sorry for being a bit late to the party (pun very much intended). I think this is a great idea. I haven't done a PbP on this site before, so I just have yo figure out how that works best regarding notifications (so I dont end up missing out on hours of conversation again).
As far as characters go, I'm thinking of playing Shelia, a firbolg wild magic barbarian. She'd probably have a more motherly/matronly role in the tribe. I can see her being a guard of the tribe, or more of an elder who can be gone to for guidance. The point is, super sweet and kind firbolg. BUT if anyone or anything endangers the tribe she RAGES.

I might also want to suggest, for the sake of making it easier to keep track of characters, that everyone have a character picture they put in each post. It will make it easier to keep track of who is who.

Really sorry but I don’t quite know what you mean by that can you explain a bit more? Thanks
Ku sits quietly, playing in a small mud puddle, building a mud mound, and keeping to himself. He seems to be extremely happy just sitting in the mud, stacking it, squeezing the dark brown ooze in his hands. He seems to be friendly and alert but also focused on the task at hand. "Ku likes mud. When it's cold. Sleep under mud. When it's hot. Sleep under mud. Mud is made from the earth and Ku likes the earth."

I think what he's saying is something like,
Tambor greets Esseer, "How goes it today?"
Using the picture as a reminder of who's speaking. (Since with as many of us as there are, could be confusing to remember Tohort is Esseer, Vitus is Tambor, etc.
Personally, I think having a picture might be difficult over time. (Just keep finding the link for an image and I'm not sure if everyone will be able to find/make an image of their character.) But I do like the idea in general. I know in other PBPs I've seen people using certain colors for their character's speech. (Although at this size I imagine there would be overlap.) But at least doing something like including your character's name as a first-off would be good IMO. (And it can have utility to put your character in your sig.)
Zaupu returns to camp, from hunting, carrying a 556lb elk. "I brought dinner, who is going to prepare the meal? I'm hungry!" Then he tosses the elk on the ground near the fire pit and takes a seat.

Ah thank you very much that makes perfect sense now, I've never done a Play-By-Post campaign before so apologies if I don't understand parts, however I'm really looking forward to learning and playing the campaign in general! I'll definitely find or even make an image to represent Esseer soon, and I might also colour his text like you suggested as well just to be safe!
I will create the thread for in-camp soon. Probably within the next couple of days. I have some work and family stuff to handle this week, so I will be busy, but I will try to find a time.

Awesome, sounds good, thanks for taking the time to arrange this, I'm really looking forward to it!

Thank you. I understand that rl comes first and must take priority. I am not trying to rush you, I was just curious if we had an idea when it would start. Maybe we could start the RP in here until the thread is made.

When do we start? I am looking forward to it.
Thok is a bridge between the tribe and the natural world. He uses his gifts to help guide the clan and provide spiritual leadership.

I'm a rabbi.
What kind of animals are we going to herd? Cattle?
Sounds good to me.

Yeah, I think a herd of cows and steers would be best.

Doing first name might be good, something like:

We could even designate colors for our characters to help coordinate.
