"Well, we know where one of these is now if anyone needs it and wants to use it later. Let's keep moving." Corvin heads off to the west.
"Through the gate, then?" Eiren asks.
He will approach the black gate and try and use the glyph key on it.
(Sounded like this one is one of the contact stones that can be used to resurrect someone that died, not a travel gate. From my understanding at least. Corvin was just heading west towards the exit to this section of the forest)
As Corvin approaches the Black Gate he sees A ten-foot-diameter circle of runes and black onyx fragments is set into the floor. It exudes wisps of shadowy energy that look like curling black smoke.
(This is the gate that Eiren is approaching...the one that is about 20 feet away from the statue?)
(Oh hey, totally misread that post and missed that the contact stone was on the north wall beyond that gate. Somehow read it as being the circle of runes in the floor of the gate)
Eiren (51/63) - 1/2 Bladesong, 1/4 first level spells, 1/3 second level spells. Action Surge. (Your sheet said you had 57 Hp you were at full health before the battle and got hit once for 12 bringing you to 51)
// Using Blessing of the Raven Queen gave me resistance to all damage for that round, so that's why I only took 6 damage. //
Ok, I changed both the post and your sheet to 57 HP
" Each zone of the Doomvault contains a circle of magical glyphs displayed on a wall or an object. These locations serve as contact stones, allowing someone who has a glyph key to contact theme here at the gatehouse.
Magical black gates are teleportation circles that connect different parts of the dungeon.
That should read "allowing someone who has a glyph key to contact me here at the gatehouse."
To clarify the Contact Stones can be used to contact Syranna at the gatehouse for any reason. You need to ask a question, a party member has died and you need another person to help, a party member has died and you need her help bringing him/her back without a soul, or something else.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Eiren attempts to use his glyph key open to Black Gate. He instantly realizes that his glyph key is not attuned tothis zone (Forest of Illusion) as he is hurled ten feet away from the gate taking 6 force damage.
Corvin stops when Eiren moves to try the gate, shaking his head as the other is hurled away from it. He nods at Xavier and starts moving west again once the others join him.
Eiren jumps back to his feet quickly and brushes off his shoulder. “Confounded forests with similar names,” he mutters, falling back in line with the others.
Grishkar Darkmoor, Necromancer of Nerull the Despiser Kelvin Rabbitfoot, Diviner, con artist, always hunting for a good sale Bründir Halfshield, Valor Bard, three-time Sheercleft Drinking Competition Champion, Hometown hero
Xavier can tell that the gouges and tracks in the area as belonging to Large bipedal predators that use oversized clawed forelimbs to move like a gorilla might. After he points this out to the group Baik recognizes the tracks of Hook Horrors a large monstrosity of the underdark.

The group moves west past the two pools and enters a small clearing. The turf here is full of deep, enormous gouges.
Everyone (except the goat) make a Wisdom (Survival) check DC 15. Anyone who makes it then make a Intelligence (Nature) check DC 15.

Haven’t used this account in forever. Still a big fan of crawling claws.
(This is not going well, but do not lose hope... Xavier still has to roll. And he has a +6 in Survival... and a 0 in nature, but still.)
