Bastion shrugs, "Don't look at me, all of you fleshy types are a bit strange from my perspective. All I know for sure is that everyone here could have very easily stabbed each other in the back and gotten away with it if that was something in the books. Kat has something in common with our foe, so what? If it was more than that, the simple fact is that she didn't cut the rope while we were ferrying people up and out of that hole. She was the first person up there, it would've been easy to strand us down below in the dark."
"So, even worst case scenario, obviously no one here is working with this undead woman in charge of this place, and everyone here needs each other to stay alive, or at least alive ish in mine and Katharina's case. That's more than enough for me for the moment. If people want to play the paranoia game, let it wait until we get the hells out of here at the least."
"So, that's the last of the deep hoods down, anything else people want to share? If not, I could use a hand securing this place so we have a chance to get some rest."
Bastion will check the rooms on this level and commandeer every door and scrap of furniture for the sake of barricades. He didn't need rest, but he could tell the others were nearing their limits, and he needed time to repair some of the damage taken in the last few scraps.
You find a couple tables and a couple doors to make a makeshift barricade in one of the rooms. You all get a chance to relax and take a few hours to recover and get some rest. You are unsure of the exact time and when you leave the room the women are feeling a bit more at ease with the treatment your group as provided them along with having the teens from their village to talk with. Listen checks everyone.
Having chosen his spells for the day, Kixarn still keeps his head concealed in his hood as the makeshift camp is packed. “If I had more time, I’d make more alchemy. I seemed effective some little, with those.”
“Can you tell me the difference between a witch and a wizard?" "Sure, a wizard is what they call you when they want to hire you, and a witch is what they call you when they're getting ready to run you out of town.” SunWolf replied ― Barbara Hambly, The Witches of Wenshar
I am going to award everyone experience from the last encounters. Needless to say you will get some good experience for the lower levels. That being said I am awarding you each 11,000 experience. Like always once you get to a new level your experience total starts at zero to reach the next level. This should help Kat and Ghamina as well as Kix to get up at least one if not two levels. Make sure to edit your character sheets with the new level and experience. If you go up in level you will start the new day with your new hit point totals.
Make sure to roll for your listen checks so I can advance the game from where it is now. Bastion or Avan as the two most experienced characters let me know what room you barricaded yourselves in.
I look at the two of them and smile. " Thank both of you so much. It means a great deal to me to be trusted. I am used to the opposite in fact. Thanks also for being willing to unmask yourself as it were. You truly have my trust. I of all people do not judge on appearance .
After rising from her rest she nods to her companions. " I feel myself again now. Shall i take rear guard again? I will go where i am needed. "
If Avan is shocked, he doesn't show it. He simply says, "As Bastion has said, your actions so far have proven your intent, all of you. I think it would actually be a boon to use what you know from your pasts to help us and help the world around us in the small ways we can. I know little of vampires, devils, and angels, and you would be wise to trust me when it comes to nature. Such as my knowledge of how life leaves the body and negative energy mysteriously seeps in. I think I can reverse the process to heal you Katharina, It should be very simple. I will ask the spirits once we've rested.
"We sleep in pairs, agreed? One of the locals with one of us and Bastion at a time. I'll take last watch."
Once awake, Avan gears up in armour and goes to pray for new spells.
He tries casting one of 3 prepared Inflict Light Wounds on Kat: 11
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Bastion will spend time while on watch working on one of the rents in his armor, bending the plates back in place with his tools.
When all seem ready to get on the move again, he will address the others. "All right, lets see what we can do about these creatures that have delayed our departure from this place. We can dig our way out, but we can't make progress if constantly watching our backs, besides, it seems likely that there is another way up. After all the enemy coordinated the collapse from below somehow."
"So, I would like for you boys to stay here, keep your people safe. These barricades should delay anything that slips past us long enough for you to put quite a few arrows in it. The rest of us will hunt down whatever remains below. If people have another idea, now would be a good moment to speak up."
Self repair, taking 10 on the check, so 10+13-15=8 hp recovered
Katherina nods grimly. " It is not ideal Bastion but is the best we can do under the circumstances. We must rid this place of this evil. " She walks to him with twin kukris in hand. " I am ready when everyone else is. "
Arilynia also lowers her hood of her cloak to reveal that she is also part Elf with her long braided bright red hair and piercing blue eyes.
"I do not judge others either, I am a ranger be trade and the woodlands are my family. I am glad to have people who have skills to help us out in this place."
After that she will help getting things set up for the rest and take watch when it's her time to.
Ghanima's eyes don't focus well, but her ears as as sharp as ever.

As they take their watch, Ghanima talks to Kat to pass the the time, "So, I was thinking. If we run into conundrum like that again where there are undead and not undead, I should make your unseen to the undead and you can focus on helping take care of them. Typically a cleric of our church carries a scimitar as it is Meiliki's favored weapon, but I also carry a sling and this bag of stones. It's just as effective against skeletons and other undead creatures a that are more bone than flesh. I suggest you have a quarterstaff, a pair of maces or something that can crack bone when we do fight them or you might find it a bit harder to return them to the earth. I of course have other abilities granted by my deity that help me right the natural order, but this,' she says holding up her shield, "is a good backup when you don't have time to get a sling or spell ready."
Katharina nods thoughtfully as her and her new friend chat. " That certainly sounds great to me. I really enjoy returning undead to whence they belong. " She draws out her kukri. " I must continue with these. I am not strong enough to utilize weapons like those you mentioned . I specialize in these kukri. "
Avan looks deeply at Arilynia, "we are more alike then I first thought. My mother was an elf and returned to her people when I was a boy. But she had already taught me of nature and magic so I have no ill will towards her for returning to her duties. Living with dad was great, I learned everything I could from he and he encouraged me to go further to the druids."
Having prayed and prepared new spells, he agrees with Bastion's plan of going back down, "But I think I would do best up front. If it's dirty and dusty enough down there, I'll be able to track where the woman went and we can confront her straight away. We will need the protection spells up first I think."
As you prepare for the day you hear a faint cackling (those that rolled over 20) It seems to also say, "That should slow them down some but just in case..." the voic trails off as it seems to move farther away.
I grab Kat's arm, "Did you hear that!? Everyone.... I think something is about to happen...." in preparation she lights up, her hair shining from the personal bubble of golden incandescence that she emits as bright as a torch. (Casting Light Of Mercuria, lasts 40 minutes unless charges are expended.)
Kat jumps as her arm is grabbed. " Heard what? I didn't hear a thing. " As her friend begins to glow she furrows her brow. " You are full of surprises Ghanima. You are a walking torch. "
Rivoril, awakens at the sound of Kat saying 'everyone...I think somethings going to happen' Then, observes her hair to be glowing like a torch. He, gets himself ready as danger seems to be imminent. Looking, and listening to see whats going on.
"What's going on Kat? What did you hear,"? He asks.
Arilynia speaks up after Kat's states that we may have trouble ahead.
" I heard a voice say, ' That should slow them down some but just in case...' and then the voice fades away. I'd say we got troubles ahead of us for sure, what I'm not sure."
She then readies her bow for what may lay ahead and waits for the others to begin to head out. She will be in the middle to front of the group, unless Bastion or Avan think she should be farther back.
"We heard it ,too" pipes up Kixarn. "Cautious more than ever, to be safe."With that, Kix gathers what little he has and takes his regular place in the group, his magics ready to aid where they can. Instruction his raven to do the same, he keeps a sharp eye out for troubles.
