"You are free to, if you so wish. But once utter, there would be no taking it back. And as things stand, it is all too likely those most affected by said wish... won't get a chance to simply use this after." Yessaris answer as replied as he walked beside Boom on down to the stone wall. At that range, the temptation to reach out gnaws at him. But he waits for others to join the group. Of which, Abe is perhaps the last one to even notice, and has to hurry along to even reach the top of the stairs.
The group ponders on the viability of the wall-portal they found and seem to agree that they have to deal with the crystal before making use of their new discovery.
"Absolutely not! Although I have knowledge of magic in this body I am new to it overall. I have made many mistakes with my amatuernish of magic and will not risk all of us by using this stone incorrectly. I want to return to what I am comfortable with. My original form." says Boom.
Yessaris lofts a brow at Boomshakla. "You are... a good and wise dragonborn, Boomshakla. A shame that what you want, and what is necessary in this case might not be compatible. But if you're still hopeful, continue to confer with the others. I've already said my piece, and I am not so greedy as to yearn for more than what I cannot work at for myself." He turns back to the wall. "Nor am I so inflexible as to be bound by a wish. So long as it exists, someone will find their way here anyways. And while I'm prepared to spend the millenia researching it, I cannot bring myself to even try forcing that viewpoint on you all."
With that, Yessaris stimulates his mind one last time, and reaches out to touch the wall.

When you realize you're doing too much: Signature.
The conversation continues but no agreement is reached.
Yessaris reaches for the liquid wall and sees his hand disappear into the other side, wherever that may be. The liquid itself feels a bit cool, but the yuan-ti knew that already.
OOC: I'm taking quick stock here of where we stand:
Use the stone to go back to original selves or undo the trials or nullify the stone itself: Selrahc, Nox, and Boomshakala;
Guard the stone for potentially eternity, so no one gets to use the wish either now or in the future: Yessaris and Tupoc;
No real opinion cast: Abe (I'm fine with this as it would be a bit unfair for any one player to have two votes here).
So, what happens if you guys can't reach an agreement?
As the others either continued discussing things or simply rested at this point, Yessaris stood there staring at his hand. "What is there even for me to wish for? The will of Erathis has been done." He muttered darkly to himself. "I have not a dog in this race, as they say... So, why am I hesitating?" Unless intervened with in some way, the Pure Blood stayed locked in his own word for the next minute or so, contemplating his next course of actions.
"Primary function... to power other artifacts.... but what of their creation?" He shook his head curtly, dismissing the thought. Afte which, he pokes his head past the wall, intending to -- however foolish though it was -- to see what lay beyond. Though if more of him need to be committed for such, well.... as an artificer, he was on stranger to gambling his life on an invention. But as he at least tried to cross the threshold, he couldn't help but wish in mind, 'I just wish...'
(In some crazy event it effects things, leaving the wish in the spoilers for Lerus:)
'That noone every did or every would have made use of that Wishing Stone, or any object with a like power.'
As the artificer moves towards the wall, Tupoc moves to pull him back before stopping short. Some morbid curiosity holding him back, the Coatl carefully watches for what happens next, ready to haul the Yuan-Ti back through the portal or to dive in after him at a moment's notice.
Selrahc will instinctively grab for Yessaris, forcing his muscles to stop. He will watch Yessaris go through the wall and wait to see what lies beyond.
Once the entire group is gathered around the patch of liquid wall, Yessaris expresses his lack of a desire to wish for anything in specific. In fact, he seems more interested in the crystal's other functions as described by the notes the party found. Then, unable to contain his curiosity any further, the yuan-ti slowly places his face through the wall aiming to take a peek. Tupoc, Selrahc and Boomshakala don't seem to agree with the approach, but all refrain from interrupting the artificer on account of their own curiosity. Nox and Abe simply and quietly observe.
What he sees is a scene that he remembers from the time he walked into the Trials in the mechanized body known as Jury. Yessaris sees the grand entrance to the building complex they were all invited into when initially taking part in the Trials. Except, he is facing outward, as if leaving the complex instead of arriving. The revelation is, however, short lived.
Almost as an afterthought, Yessaris ponders on a wish he'd likely ask for. Or did he actually mumble it in the end... hard to say. In an instant, the landscape beyond the entrance he saw begins to twist, just like the liquid wall or even the innards of the Wishing Stone. Then... a familiar darkness...
Though your name remains the same, the body you wake up in is that of a tall wood elf. You adopt a familiar stoic stance, a longbow by your side. You sit alone at a table in a crowded tavern's floor, waiting for the next contact. A drink in your hand, the scene feels familiar. A dwarf is going to approach you from the bar in about 30 seconds. Without fail, he does. He sits next to you and slides a piece of parchment and a pouch of gold. You know what this is. Your next target. Someone that this person needs dead, and you are the sharpshooting assassin stalker for the job. No words are exchanged. You collect your payment and information sheet and leave to begin your hunt immediately. As you step outside into the cold night, you have a feeling you already completed this mark, a long time ago... Nah, that can't be. Better pay no mind to that thought. Time to go kill a stranger.
@Grx/Boomshakala:
You open your eyes and find yourself around a bonfire. Many familiar faces surround you in this cold evening and all seem to be enjoying themselves in a feast of food, drink, and dance around the flames. Some people approach you to talk or invite you to partake. They refer to you as Grixx, the name sounding both familiar and distant to you. In your own ale-driven haze, you can't be sure what exactly your fellow tribesmen are saying, but they all seem to be having fun, and so are you. Your trusty moon-touched greatsword is next to you. This place, right here under the rising moon and next to the tall flames... this feels like home. A strange feeling in your heart tells you that you are missing some of your closest friends in whatever celebration to Tempus this is, but ... nah... that can't be. All your tribesmen and women are here enjoying themselves. You should probably do the same.
@Ori/Yessaris:
You stand in attention, facing a large statue of Erathis within an immense but lonely temple. Your mind feels clear of any free will. You are here to obey and deliver the law and order of Erathis for as long as you live. You instinctively recite "Rule One: Obey the Law of the Lady, and the Lady shall Bless you with purpose," though no one seems to be around to listen. You try to recall how you arrived here, as a way to better prepare for the mission ahead, but you can only think of a few passing thoughts apart from all the rules that populate your mind. You know you have two brothers, named Judge and Executioner. Or at least that's how someone wanted you to remember them. You have a companion, a homunculus you built yourself to aid you in the propagation of Erathis' law and order. In fact, you have as many companions as you'd like. You look at your hands and recognize the power of necromancy flowing through them. This is it. You have all that you need. Time to initiate your pilgrimage. Erathis' Law and Order cannot wait. The time for their deliverance in nigh. Time to leave this temple and initiate the mission, or your name is not Yessaris... error...... error..... Or your name is not Jury!
@Hydra/Tupoc:
You wake up out in the open, atop a great rocky plateau. This is the place you like to come for meditation and self study. This is the place where the earth itself speaks to you. Here, you become one with the earth, and it has much to teach. Your days as Soldier Hijr are long past. You now serve nature as Dredge, as your Genasi ancestors intended. You fight with the ferociousness of the predators who prowl this land, but balance that with the wisdom that only experience can provide. Nonetheless, your yearn for a challenge. Perhaps it is time to take a cause again. Search for a new pack to join. New fights to enjoy, new trials to face... Wait... This feels familiar. You have had this thought before... You already left and joined a group of strangers, did you not? Was it yesterday? No. Was it long ago or is it still to happen? Hard to tell. This feeling feels both new and familiar. Hmm... It is probably nothing. Just the thrill of the hunt calling, most likely. Maybe you can look for a new hunting pack tomorrow...
@Superbad/Selrahc:
"Charles!... Charles... Honey. Supper is ready," you hear a lovely and familiar voice call from the ground floor of your villa. You want to go. You want to let her know her work in the home is appreciated, that her cooking is delicious, and, most of all, that you love her. But that will have to wait a bit. These revolvers are not going to clean themselves and you are only halfway done. A speckle of dust is all that is necessary for a bullet to change its trajectory and you did not build your huntsman/sportsman reputation by missing your mark. In fact, you built it out at sea, atop a fast vessel and with the wind of piracy blowing on your face. Those were the days. If only she new the truth of how you came into your wealth... but alas, that too will have to wait. Maybe one day you can take her out to sea with you. Maybe she'd understand and fall in love with adventure as you have... Or maybe, you could go out in one last adventure on your own. For old times' sake. Yes, just you and your revolvers, in search of great rewards. Maybe a few trusty companions by your side, attempting great challenges, insurmountable trials! Now those... those were the days. They were just grand... Hmm.. What are you saying? You mean... they would be grand... you haven't left yet, right?
Alright folks. This will do it for this campaign. I am going to go ahead and call it scene on this adventure.
If you haven’t yet taken a look at my farewell message in the OOC chat, I kindly ask you do. Let us move any future conversation to that thread as well.
Thank you for playing this game with me for about a year and a half! It was a pleasure running this game for you guys.
Boom walks up to the portal without touching it.
"We should use the stone prior to using this I believe" says Boom.
