War has been raging across Khorvaire for almost a hundred years now, the five powers vying for the coveted crown. In the Northern country of Aundair, the armies defend against the threat of Thrane as they battle Queen Diani Ir'Wynarn's forces, using their arcane powers versus the might of the Silver Flame. To the South, the war with Breland is at a standstill as the King's armies have taken root along the border and on Lake Galifar, separated by mountains and the water of the large inner sea they have an uneasy peace.
Yet, to the west is where the new threat is. One that has gone unnoticed as nothing more than a mere disturbance. The Eldeen Reaches, as the dirt farmers and forest folk call it. Too long have the people asked for a land of their own, a homeland for those who have different ideals than those of the mage lead warriors of the Aundairian armies.
As a player in this campaign, you will be soldiers working for the Aundairian army. Your military training just ended and you were placed in a special unit to cross Lake Galifar and go investigate the random bandit raids that have been striking Aundairian farms.
This game starts in the Last War but will go into modern day Eberron. Your actions in the Last War will set the stage for the future of Aundair and the Reaches.
To play this game you must make a character of the following:
-Level 2
-Free skill of Arcana or History (This is for training in the Aundairain military or coming from an Aundairian background.)
-Any race in any of the books. (No homebrew races)
-Any class or build in any of the official books. (No homebrew classes.)
-We already have two player's, am only looking for 2-3 more. (I will be going against the grain and running a character in this game, if you have a problem with that then this will not be the game for you.)
-Dragonmarks are encouraged, not required.
-Strong RP, decent amount of combat.
-No knowledge of this world needed, I got you! :)
-Posts Monday through Friday (maybe some posting on the weekends)
_ALL DM RULES ARE FINAL! Or, we can discuss if I may be wrong in our group chat for the game. lol
-(OOG or OOC in bold)
-"Pick a color for your speech!" says the DM to all potential players.
-You must have a backstory based on why you are willingly fighting for the Aundairan army. Loyalties to the Audairian cause and war effort are important for the start of this game. Though, where your loyalties go after that...
Any questions, PM me or ask in this thread. I already have a Rogue and a Sorcerer... SHOW ME WHAT YOU GOT! The game starts on March 4th.

His love of cheeses has also stems from being in Audair and one day he hopes to start his own cheese shop hence the title of Fromancer (or perhaps a cheese wizard haha)
The Last War Campaign: Pointbuy Character Submission
Name: Isuzu Race: Female Mark of the Passage Human Alignment: Lawful Neutral Class(es): Monk -1- / Cleric (Death Domain) -1- Dragonmark: Mark of the Passage Background: House Agent (Orien) Backstory: Isuzu's birth name is Messalina d'Orien of House Orien. An illegitimate daughter of Baron Kwanti d'Orien, the house patriarch with an unnamed mistress.
Isuzu in all likelihood would have grown up in relative obscurity had her dragonmark (located on the inside of her right forearm) not manifested. Lucky for her that it did so that she was sent as a young child to receive specialized training to prepare her for lifelong service to her House.
The name, Isuzu is a nickname given to her by her teachers at the Unseen Sanctuary, a hidden Temple/Monastery dedicated to The Keeper, God of Death where she been sent to for specialized training after her dragonmark manifested. The reason that Isuzu was sent to the Unseen Sanctuary for training was in part due to the fact she had been born with a Reaper's birthmark in the shape of a fang located on her forehead, a sign or symbol of the Keeper, God of Death!
The word, Isuzu in the Celestial tongue means, "fifty bells" and given to by her instructors in part as an acknowledgment of the incredible potential of her ground movement speed. Upon completion of her training at the Unseen Sanctuary Isuzu became an Agent with House Orien until she was selected to represent House Orien to take part as a soldier in the Last War and sent off to be inducted into Aundairian military service in the army.
Description: Isuzu is a petite Mark of Passage human female with strangely hued pale ash-gray skin, dark amber eyes and raven-black hair. Her attire is well made and worked dark-brown traveling clothes consisting of a soft-leather shirt, tunic, trousers, leather boots, and fingerless gloves as well as a signature pair of lightning rail engineer goggles she wears atop her head. Being a prized and cherished possession that had been given to her by her father when she was but a small child.
Everything we have- Our abilities, our riches, even our very lives themselves- were given to us by the gods so that we may defend the people who live on our lands to the best of our capability.
These were the words of Percival's father, a wealthy lord that ruled over a land filled with people who had been loyal servants to his family for years. Growing up, Percy never lacked for anything as the first son of a lord, but his father always made sure to instill a sense of duty in his son and train him in the martial arts so that he would be ready to defend his people if they were ever threatened by an outside force. So when war threatened his land, Percy abandoned his life of luxury and joined the Aundairian army to help defend the people living on his land, as well as his entire nation.

Irma Covenstride would like to offer her services. She's a halfling of mark of healing who lost her husband and all her three of their sons in the war effort some years ago. Her husband was born into House Jorasco and she followed the path of tradition with ease of heart. After the tragic events though it took Irma a few years to find the will to live again. What she also found was an idea that she will do her utmost to prevent other families from suffering a similar fate.
She is now a trained cleric in the army of Aundair, well set on the path of Life with a bit of interest in the Arcana as well.

As the fading days of Nymm come to a close the known world was still being rocked by the battles that were shaping the Last War. Pirates ran free claiming dominion of the what they’re calling the Lhazzar Principalities to the far East.In the lands of Cyre war raged on all sides, the Thran, Karrnathi, and Valenar armies surrounded the country on all sides. The undead armies of Karrnath in the North making the deadliest battles for the country of the free people’s of Cyre, while the precision of the Valenar to the south has been slowly pushing Cyre’s resources to their limit. While the world dug in to destroy the Cyrian armies to the West Breland we’re in a stalemate with the monsterous uprising of the so-called Droam armies led by the Coven Council.
In the North, the country of Aundair was having its own problems. The lands to the West were in an unheavel, for the past fifty (50) years the people’s of West Aundair have claimed a link of heritage to the land that is known as the Eldeen Reaches. On every map in the known world, the Reaches show as land of the Aundair. Yet, they demand freedom from the crown. The farmers that dot the coast of Lake Galifar and spread in villages that reach the deep forests of the Reaches still share their harvests with Aundair, but have been opening up trade with Breland and those out to the far West in the swamps of the Shadow Marshes.
The Crown of Aundair has been too busy trying to take her rightful place as one of the five heirs to the Kingdom of Galifar. Aundair is ruled by Queen Aurala ir’Wynarn. Aurala is a just ruler, but she has never abandoned the dream of a Galifar reunited under her rule. While Aundair is a small nation, its arcane superiority has been allowing it to hold its own during this great War. Many believe Aurala is pressing Arcanix to develop battle magic that will ensure Aundair’s victory in whatever conflicts lie ahead...
In the small village of Faderock, a large garrison is mobilized in a strict regiment of training for the coming battles that the Queen may ask them to give their lives for. The fort itself is rather impressive, it can contain up to 1000 soldiers, all working in concert to stave off any threat to the interior of the Aundairian heartland.
Many units train and patrol the lands and shores of the inland sea of Lake Galifar, and this is where our story starts. Not in one of the epic battles of the great War, but on a routine patrol with an unassuming unit. On an unassuming and slow day of patrolling. The blue and silver uniforms worn by the patrol show the precision of Aundairian tailors, using the famous glamorweave.
Lieutenant Do’tavian Winehand leads the patrol through the small forest about five (5) miles off the coast of Lake Galifar, and two days journey from Faderock. After training for the past year, your unit, Greywind, has been giving the chance to train more exclusively with the famed LT.
Breaking for midday, a fire is started and a stew is cooking. Lt. Winehand is speaking with the unit sergeant at arms, Misquo Lorand, going over maps away from the group as you all sit around the fire, waiting for the stew to be finished. All of you are in this Army for a reason, and all of you were handpicked for this unit. What brought you here may differ in cause, but the conviction to serve is something all of you share.
Knowing each other since the beginning days of your training, you have a familiarity with the group. Though, you’ve yet to see combat yet, your training has prepared you all for the day it should come...
(Welcome to the start ☺️ Please, when you start your next post describe your character in detail and how they feel about the slow days of patrolling in the safe areas of Aundair. You are all together in the area around the campfire, giving Winehand and Lorand their space.)
"...Debts must always be paid, sometimes in more than blood and gold. But this is Ordo Ursa," Ren places his hand on Erakas's chest, right where the Dragonborn's heart is. "Right here. And it always has been and always will be. Don't ever forget that. Because I won't."

Percival didn't feel like the uniform he was given was that much different than his usual garments. It might not have been his preferred shade of red, but the glamorweave was still there. Percival was a young man whose skin was still fair from his years spent living a comfortable life. He isn't overly muscular, but he looks fit enough. His eyes are green and he's beginning to grow a beard, as he has not yet had the opportunity to shave while out on patrol. At his hip is an ornate rapier.
It's not that I think that I'm better than this, but I wish that I was doing something that would actually help the cause.
Sylrie Caldamus, of the Fairhaven Caldamus mercantile family (though he'd never introduce himself as such), sat beside the fire picking at his fingernails with a sliver of wood. His feet placed upon his pack crossed at the ankles as he laid back against a rock. The way his hair swept to one side, as was the fashion in Fairhaven currently, hid his face but were it not to the look of boredom would be so evident it might strike you as altogether insulting. The corner of his lip twitched and played with his gentleman's mustache as he dug deeper to remove the dirt and gunk from further beneath the surface of his nails. The soup smelled edible, but it was soup every day, or maybe it just seemed that way as the days all seemed to blur together. It was true Sylrie had joined the military late into the war, having been alive and an adult for most of it, but he had a notion of grandeur that patrolling the safe lands was not fulfilling. He wanted duels, arcane or sword didn't matter, swooping in on rescue missions behind enemy lines, being knighted or given awards to by the Queen. A small sigh escaped from between his lips as a mental image of the queen entered his mind, she was so beautiful, and to have command of the entire country, now that'd be a way to show off to his father for sure. As it stood his father only thought him foolish for joining the ranks of the Aundarian military, it was true he was the youngest son, but he was still a son, and if anything were to happen to his brothers it would fall to him to carry on the business.
"I'm meant for more than that...than this..." he said under his breath, to nobody in particular, just outwardly expressing the thought train he was pursuing. Quickly, and with an agility only an elf could possess, Sylrie climbed to his feet. He looked over at this patrol unit, "Who's up for a game of Dagger toss?"
Kashkaval sits alongside Percival around the fire. Occasionally he will pick at a bit of lint or speck of dirt on his meticulous uniform. Perched upon the bridge of his nose are a pair of round wire frame spectacles, but upon closer inspection the lenses are just plain glass. Kashkaval wears them to help distance himself from the preconceived notions his race tends to provoke among the other races here. He was born with strange powers, so different from most of his kind, so he came to Aundair in hopes of finding answers to the questions he has about them. The wizards of the Floating Towers of Arcanix were eventually of no help, more of a curiosity than anything else because he was not a wizard.
Often on these slow patrol days his mind wanders, often creating more questions than answers, but he knows somewhere someone out there can help him find those answers. For now, he enjoys the company of his unit, Lt Winehand has proven herself to be a fine and just leader and Kashkaval appreciates the opportunity to work more with her. Hanging from his belt is what appears to be the head and spine of a warforged, he affectionately refers to as Buttons. After losing his mace in one pitched battle, he reached for whatever was closest at hand, he found Buttons, which helped save his hide that day. Buttons has been his traveling companion since then, and much to the annoyance of some of his Unit, he often talks to it like some barmy Hamlet in a street play. Which he does now.....
"What a beautiful day for a patrol isn't it Buttons?" He'll say jokingly holding it up by the broken spine.

Sylrie Caldamus
