Wazzok attempts to push her way through using brute force, but the combination of the cold and the biting wildlife are too much for the already weakened half-orc and she falls, sinking into the water.
[ooc : taking 8 damage for two failed dex checks, which puts her at -1]
Even has her sorcerer companion manages to break free of his entrapment to swim to safety, Wazzok tries to push off the bottom of the surprisingly deep body of water to likewise swim across but instead gets one boot lodged between two rocks on the lagoon's floor. Flailing about as she desperately tries to pull free, the beleagured half-orc is instead wracked by a plethora of merciless, needle-sharp bites from a horde of barely detectable menaces that swarm and roil about her suddenly limp form, continuing their viscious assault even as the cleric's head and long black hair sink beneath the increasingly bloodied water.
[OOC] Wazzok is now unconscious and will need to make death saves from next round, and is at risk of taking further damage from the lagoon eels.
*With the larger, less armoured form of Mazin nearby, the eels will ignore Wazzok, meaning no additional damage, but a death save upon reaching the shore, and onwards pending stabilization.

Edit: Sorry, that's wrong. I put +2 instead of +6. It should be a 23.
Seeing Wazzok's plight, Mazin dives into the dark water without hesitation, easily reaching the sinking warrior's side in mere hearbeats. Ignoring the dozens of writhing, biting black bodies, the adrenalin fueled barbarian yanks his companion free of the lagoon floor's grip to continue swimming towards the bank where most of the group still stand. With a snarl of fury, the giant fur-clad beserker dismisses the now swarming eels, even as they converge on this new, larger intruder.
[OOC] Mazin's athletics check was high enough to both free Wazzok and swim across carying her, however a dexterity save DC12 is required (no disadvantage due to his natural athlete and powerful build features) or take 5 piercing damage.

Cinder is managing to avoid the eels swarming bites, but can’t seem to force her way through them to the island.
Managing to slap, kick and dodge away from the dozens of hungry, pointed maws that seek her flesh, Cinder is unfortunately so preoccupied with evading the fang-like teeth of the eels that the tiefling makes little headway towards the rocky island.
[OOC] Cinder must repeat the skill check and save process, taking 1 piercing damage if she fails both.

Despite Kestrell's yelling, the voracious eels ignore the sorcerers efforts until the half-elf uses his magic to disturb the water. At the splashing of the magic hand, a number of eels peel away from the growing swarm of creatures attacking Cinder. The distraction causes the diverted eels to futilely attack the magic appendage, allowing the tiefling enough respite to kick clear of the writhing mass and reach the rocky island safely.

Desperate to stop the bleeding but bereft of bandages, Mazin does the only thing he can think of and tears some of his own furs and Wazzok's garments into strips, tying the material about the half-orc's wounds. The makeshift bandages do help to stem the flow of blood... but the condition of the goliath's ally does not seem much improved, her lips blueish and her flesh growing colder. Cradling Wazzok's inert form and all but ignoring outside distractions, the suddenly gentle berserker uses his own body to shield her from the elements and impart what warmth he can... which eventually appears to help the sorely wounded priestess settle into a semblance of restful unconsciousness.

"This is not good. I should have have used all of my will before. I have nothing left...." The centaur looks over at Mazin and Wazzok. "How is she doing Mazin? How is everyone else doing? We all need to make a decision, for Wazzok's sake. It is getting late, we have been out here for some time and we need to protect Wazzok. I am not sure if we can move her without doing further injury. I am happy to have her tied to my back but I will need to jump across the stream. Even Mazin holding her will have to leap and we could injure her more. Maybe it is best to set up camp here for the night. With the island and the eels around it, it is a defensible position. Better than any other location around here, that is unless we mean more beasts that can fly."

Cinder finally gets to the other side and climbs out dripping. Seeing that Wazzok seems to be breathing steady and not at risk of dying currently, she walks around the island to make sure it’s secure and nothing is going to pop out at them.

Mazin looks over Wazzok's body. "She looks better, Altani, but she needs some time. I don't know if we should stay here the night. There could be another murder tonight. Perhaps Cypress can help Wazzok. She was injured while working for her." He judges the distance between the shores. "I should be able to make the jump while carrying her. But lets take a short break and see if she recovers." ((Take a short rest for those that need it?))
Mazin will gingerly place Wazzok down and covers her with a blanket from his bedroll. Then he goes to look at the reason he jumped over here to begin with. He goes over to the submerged cart. "Hmmm. Hey, Cinder, can you help me with this? Yea, just grab that side there. And.... 1, 2, 3, PULL." athletics19

Taking stock amidst the deepening evening shadows of the wild, overgrown glade, the murky lagoon and the surrounding marsh and undergrowth, it indeed seems clear to Altani that the small but defensible rocky island seems the safest place to rest, despite the dirt and leaf covered stone being hard and apparently unused as a campsite for some time.

Cinder barely has a chance to lay a hand on the protruding tip of the cart handle when, after ignoring the menace of the nearby eels Mazin thrusts his arms into the water up to the elbows and with a mighty HEAVE pulls the mostly submerged cart from the water and the wet sucking hold of the muddy lagoon bank and floor. So powerful is the goliath's feat of strength, that a number of the voracious eels are caught unprepared as the entire cart lifts and tilts up onto the edge of the rocky island. A few of the slimey, black creatures land flopping about on the stone, one nearly atop the tiefling's foot, it's jaws snapping around ineffectually once removed from its natural environment and swarming fellows.
The muck and mud coated cart now lies tilted on it's side out of the water, one large weed covered wheel facing the sky. A number of soggy, mostly ruined objects slide and tumble about inside, the remains of what might be boxes, crates and sacks that have been long submerged within the silty water.
