"Ship seems a better place to turn these giant crabs into dinner for everyone, and potentially armor," Erric says, offering to help move pieces of the crab into the boat if that's what the group decides. "Loop around the wreck so we've made some progress today apart from not dying, and then come straight back to it in the morning from a safe night's sleep."
Jambiya thinks that sounds like a grand plan, and helps choose the meatiest parts of the crabs to put in the boat, the claws and the heaviest legs. She'll assist Anafrey in whatever she needs to do to bring armor pieces along, but cognizant of the weight, will help to scrape the insides of the shells she wants free of gross innards.

As promised, Maldorn does not complain about the groups’ preference. He shrugs at Anafrey as to signal their loss in the argument and helps Jambiya and Erric in preparing for the dingy ride back to the ship.
"Sure thing, Seric. If we leave soon, we might even benefit from some sunlight. I'll keep a close eye on the wreck as we pass by. Perhaps you can help me by holding a torch or some other source of light? I have plenty of those still."
Maldorn says the above as he finishes placing things in the rowboat. "It all looks ready. Shall we go?"
Ebokk gives Erric a head nod. "I think the plan sounds like a good one," the dwarf replies. "Back to the boat for the night with a pass by the wreck," he repeats.
The group collects what parts and pieces of the giant crabs they wish to take back to the ship and push the boat into the shallows. They hop in and row around the southern shore of the island to the wreck. The waves keep the boat rocking back and forth as they progress. Unfortunately, because of the position of the wreck and the inexplicable peak on the southwestern "corner" of the island, the wreck is in shadow by the time the rowboat gets there, despite there being at least another hour and a half of daylight everywhere else.
Even in shadow, it's clear the vessel has taken serious damage over the years. The bow is completely underwater and is most likely half buried. The upturned stern of the ship juts out of the water, as does the top of the main mast. Captain Flindbar's flag — bearing the face of an angry orc — still flies atop it.
The team finally turns away from the island, fighting through the waves and taking a little bit of water on, but not enough to be worrisome. As they approach, a rope ladder is thrown over the side of the Nightshade. "Back already?" Scrub calls down to them.
"Yes, master Scrub!" Erric calls up, as he grabs onto the rope ladder. "We caught some dinner for everyone. Have you tried Giant Crab Legs? Quite good. Want to throw down some ropes and we'll tie dinner to haul up?"
As this happens, he'll dart up the rope ladder and help the others along, updating Scrub and Grout and the rest of the nearby crew about their landing on the beach, findings of likely no people on the island, the giant crab fight, nearly dying, impromptu BBQ, and their scouting of the wreck. "We got pretty beat up by these dumb crabs, and decided that a fresh start tomorrow would be better to look into the wreck situation, rather than trying in the evening. And why hog all this crabmeat to ourselves when you all might get some enjoyment out of it? Jambiya's got an amazing recipe, which will probably be a lot better with an actual galley to work with."
He collapses after everyone on board. "So have you seen or heard anything of note? Did you even see us fighting the crabs from here? How are you all faring?"
Maldorn's face does not hide his disappointment in finding out so little about the wreck while circling it. Once back on the ship, he lets Erric do all the explaining but perks up his ears once the crew is given a chance to update the landing party on any findings they might have made. Maldorn then simply enjoys their company and a bit more crab meat for the next hour or so, making sure to feed Sagitta a bit more as well.
If they have little of interest to share, Maldorn will settle in for a long night of sleep in one of the twin's hammocks as they take the night shift. In the morning, before setting out toward the wreck, Maldorn decides to try his new pipe and tobacco, selecting one bowl of Blackberry Latakia. He prepares 2<x<4 cigarettes out of that bow and smokes one.
(@DDP: I already removed one bowl of that type of tobacco from my inventory. How would you like to determine how many cigarettes Maldorn gets out of it? Should I just give it a standard d4 roll and re-roll in case I get a 1? If so, here it is: 2. If you had something else in mind, please feel free to disregard this die roll.)
Knowing he is likely to get wet soon, he'll leave all of his smoking supplies on the boat, including any rolled but un-smoked cigarettes. This also applies to any supplies that would become useless or damaged underwater (e.g. rations, tents, tinderbox, etc.) He does bring at least on torch, though, in case they need it before going underwater if they indeed go for a dive. He also explains this decision to Jambiya, so he can count on her sparks in case they need to light up the torch.
Jambiya helps as she is able, but at some point offers up a question to the party. "Most of the ship was under the waves. Are any of us good swimmers? Or have we some way to search the boat without having to navigate's it's hull and hold underwater?"

OOC: Characters can hold their breath for 1+CON modifier minutes. So, Jambiya can hold her breath for one minute, Erric for two minutes, and everyone else for three minutes.
OOC2: Maldorn, what you did about quantities sounds fine to me.
Scrub quickly fetches a rope and throws it over. Gramps appears on deck as well to help everyone up. When asked if they had noticed the battle on the island or if anyone had seen or heard anything of note, the sailors all shrug. Lefty does admit to seeing some flashes in the direction of the island at one point, but figured something was just catching the light.
Maldorn:
As promised, the tobacco is sweet and sharp in flavor. While it mellows you out, it helps to sharpen your mind. For one hour, you suffer a -1 to your CON modifier and a +1 to your INT modifier. This, of course, counteracts with my previous comment about holding your breath.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"I... can swim, but I choose not to if I can help it," Erric says, pushing the four inflated waterskins that have been affixed to his pack behind him with little success. "But I won't let some water defeat me. 'Sides, maybe the ship's not even full of water."
He readies himself to bed down for the night after a dinner of more crab, some strumming on his lute, and a quick, quiet (stealth: 18) look around (investigation: 21) to see who among the crew has the shiniest trinket or bauble that might be ripe to purloin in exchange for a small snail shell Erric noticed during their beach BBQ.
(Halfings reroll ones, so here's a replacement investigation roll: 7, and Erric will use his last luck point of the day to reroll that stealth roll: 20)
Maldorn answers Jambiya's question: "I learned to swim when I was just a wee lad... Unfortunately, my bow won't be very useful if we need to go diving, so if we get into trouble I'll have to resort to my daggers again."
In the next morning, while smoking his fancy cigarette, Maldorn approaches Jambiya again: "This is making me feel a bit strange, Jambiya. My mind seems hardened but my body softened... I am not sure I like this feeling. Does that sound dangerous to you? Do you think one of those berries of yours could help me?" He holds his two magical berries up on his palm.
(OOC: Other than that, Maldorn simply goes through the evening/morning motions as detailed in my previous post.)
@DDP:
Do you know if there is a way to change my ability modifiers in the character sheet without changing the ability scores themselves? I'm struggling to override the modifiers affected by the cigarette without changing the base scores.
Jambiya considers, sniffing the air around Maldorn. "I think they just make you feel a little stronger, I'm not sure that they... I don't think they would help Anafrey if she'd drunk too much, or if you'd eaten bad food. Or, well, smoked something odd..."

"I am pretty good at swimming... but holding out breath doesn't sound like the best way to go... do you think we could empty our water skins and try to hold some air in there?" Anafrey would ask as she slides a couple newly topped off flasks into her bag. "I would hate to get down there and run out of air... I might drink like a fish but I don't breath like one.." She would say with a wink as she tosses her white hair over her shoulder and looks to the group.
Jambiya smiles at Anafrey. "You're turning into a regular inventor, 'Frey," she jokes. "First armor from crab shells, now air bladders for breathing underwater? You're like one of Daddy Pops' stories. I mean, if we don't all drown. His stories sometimes have bad endings like that, but they usually last longer than two adventures."
She looks to Erric. "You're keeping track of all of this, right, Erric? Daddy Pops will want a good song when we get back, I think."

Erric stares at Anafrey as she talks about breathing from inflatable air bladders. He very deliberately stops trying to hide the (once more, with feeling, since Imayhave been toosubtle) four inflated waterskins Erric has been carrying around for the entire voyage, purchased back in Seldom Spring.
"Anafrey, are you mocking me? You're much more perceptive than I thought. Okay I admit it, I'm scared of the water. I can't swim very well at all. There are monsters that live in the deep, and they can breathe water. I can't breathe water. I heard that floating on top of the water has helped people stay alive out here, so before we left Seldom Spring I bought four waterskins, and every time I realize how big the ocean is compared to us, I blow another one up. Here," and he gives one to each of his friends. "I don't want to lose any of you. Breathing from them isn't a bad idea, 'Frey. I'll admit I hadn't thought of that. But they could be used for both things."
You've rarely seen Erric scared, and almost never seen him bashful, and the combination of the two is a new sight.
When Jambiya mentions composing a new song, his eyes perk up a bit and he seems to come back into himself. He'd completely forgotten his songwriting, and he gives her a weak, but thankful smile.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Yes...... yeah.. YUP! Definitally! I totally saw you with these...." Anafey would say with before giving Erric a playful yet somewhat painful punch on the shoulder. She would then turn and quickly take a swig from her flask before looking back at him. "Yup... knew ya had those..."
Click on the modifier. In the sidebar that opens, add an additional -2 or +2 at the bottom to change that ability score and its modifier. Just don't forget to change it back after an hour.
