He looks at Eilikasys and glances at the others as well. We are not enemies here, there is no need for these remarks.
Looking at Eilikasys My companions all had an equal part in retrieving these items, risking our lives to get them. They will not wait outside, we should all get the same respect as you would give any of your customers. He says fiercely, then remembers her help and tries to boost her ego a bit We came here because you are the best. You would not deny them the chance to see you at work would you?
Then looks to his companions. It was not nice to slap Jambiya.I know its been a few days but ive had my share of fighting in the cave. Lets not continue it here. We came here for a reason, lets try to conclude our business peacefully.
Ebokk remains standing keeping his head held high as he tries to calm the situation with an attempt to take control of it.
Erric steps back, hands raised in peaceful disengagement, and then pulls his lute to his front and begins playing a calming tune. He sits down in a corner, with room for Jambiya to join him if she likes.
He inspires first Ebokk, and then Jambiya. (Which is a d8 now!)
Jambiya backs down as Ebokk comes to their aid. She glances at Erric as he begins to play, and does go sit next to him, watching the table and Eilikasys like a hawk.

Eilikasys's look of serenity melts into one of anger as Jambiya speaks to her with such insolence. However, when the little goblin girl brings up Erric, the gnome's rage immediately drops, and a look of haughtiness suffuses her features. "I don't know —" she begins, but Ebokk cuts her off with his shout.
By the time Ebokk has finished, Eilikasys has one hand on the side of her head as if trying to tame an errant lock of hair, while the other is upon her breast. Her eyes dart hither and yon, but never meet anyone's eyes. The silence is very awkward, despite Erric's playing. Ebokk, this is a side of Eilikasys you have never seen before.
Grendel breaks the pause by clearing her throat and getting to her feet. "Eilikasys, let us confer in the other room." The half-orc holds out a hand to the gnome. "Please excuse us."
Eilikasys looks at Grendel's gray-skinned hand for a few heartbeats before placing one of own into it and getting to her feet. The two females — one big, one tiny — cross to a door and disappear through it, leaving the party alone once again.
As they leave Ebokk sits back down Well that was strange. Ive never seen Eilikasys like that. He looks to the door that they went through Perhaps something is troubling her.
Looking to Erric and Jambiya Are you two alright?
Ebokk takes another gulp of his drink as they wait.
Jambiya has a confused look on her face, but nods when Ebokk asks if she and Erric are okay. “I am, she just…” she turns to Erric. “I think she… I don’t know what happened between you, and I will * always * have your side, Erric… but she seems affected by you, in a good/bad way, like…” She stops and then looks up. “I think I need that drink now.”
Jambiya gets up and crosses to the bar, and with the expertise of a lifetime in a bar, and with the experience of a dwarven-adjacent drinker, she pours herself something strong.

"I'll have one too, if you don't mind it, Jambiya." Maldorn finally speaks. "I am sorry I did not speak up in your defense, friends. I found myself unable to react." He sighs before continuing: "Perhaps she felt betrayed by the simple fact that some of us are aware that something happened between Erric and her, although we may not know or want to know the details."
"Thanks for being here for me, and supporting me, my friends," Erric says, over the music that dances quietly out of his instrument.
He slowly stops playing, and looks at Jambiya, more and more fierce in her loyalty and brilliance. Maldorn, in his aloof, yet deliberately kind-hearted wisdom. Ebokk, no longer new to the group and tough as nails. The memory of Anafrey, who would be over at the bar, angrily drinking and getting ready to smash the gnome when she came back into the room.
"I have no intention of interfering with our purpose here, and definitely not the bond between the Lockforges and her. If I can, I still want to know what's really going on with her, what she wants with me, but maybe asking her outright isn't the best option. Maldorn, you once told me toread between the linesthe next time I saw her. Are you seeing anything? Ebokk? Jambiya?"
Does Eilikasys appear fundamentally different or similar to how she acted last time, on the ship?
Jambiya slugs back her drink, pours another, then one for Maldorn. She fixes Erric with an arched eyebrow. "It's best to be up front, even about... well, emotional things. So I think you should talk to her... I imagine Grendel is saying the same thing to her right now. Tell her how she made you feel, and tell her what you want, then ask what she wants... I may only be ten years old, but I've seen more... of.. this... sort of thing, pass through the bar than you might think."
"And if you don't want to do it in private, I am happy to stand next to you and glare at her."
Then she glances at the door where the pair went. "But if she hurts you, I will open her from gizzard to gut with my spoon." She brandishes her new wooden spoon with a growl. "Which is dull."

The door opens once again, and Grendel exits. The half-orc closes the door carefully as if not wanting to make any sound. Circumspectly, she crosses to the sitting area, her hands clasped across her flat stomach. Standing before the group, she looks thoughtful, pausing to collect her thoughts. "I'm truly sorry for ... everything," she finally says. She looks around, making eye contact with each of the party members. "Eilikasys is willing to take the shield off your hands for 650 gold. We're pretty sure we can find a buyer for it. Any of the spell scrolls you would like to part with, I can give you 45 gold for each." She speaks at a volume less than previous, again, as if not wanting to disturb anyone. She crosses and sits down before the table and reaches out to gently touch the pieces of stone. "Even if these had been magical previously, they are no longer. They might could be brought back to their previous beauty with the careful application of a mending spell, but it is unlikely." She looks at Jambiya, her face looking pained despite her smile. "We don't think these are worth anything. They are too damaged." She stops speaking and looks around at the others as if waiting for a response.
"What were they? And did they mean anything?"Erric says, pointing to the stone pieces. Then he blinks, and walks up directly across from Grendel, a sincere expression on his face.
"Can you tell me more about her? She said she had plans for me, and tried to make a... connection... when we shared a voyage together. I think I messed it up. I definitely didn't understand it. You know her. What's going on? What am I not understanding?"
Maldorn attempts some 'mending' of his own. "I apologize for any misunderstanding that might have taken place in this very room just a few minutes ago. We do not mean to refute your welcome, although it is clear that our group's definition of what may be appropriate behavior differs from those of our hosts. I hope we can learn to appreciate that sort of diversity and not hold grudges."
(Totally fine for the shield to stay, it seems great for Ebokk! As for the unneeded scrolls, the price seems lower than when we've gone shopping for things before so we could see what a shop would buy them for.)
Jambiya is here for the glory, not the treasure. She visibly slumps at the description of just how pedestrian the stone fragments are, and does not move to retrieve them. You all know her pretty well by now, and you can tell she’s ready to go.

"What were they? And did they mean anything?" Erric says, pointing to the stone pieces. Then he blinks, and walks up directly across from Grendel, a sincere expression on his face.
The half-orc looks down at the stone pieces again. "It's hard to know. They are clearly carvings." She begins to try to fit a few pieces together, but gives up after only half a minute or so and sighs. "I'm having trouble figuring out which pieces go where, so I can't even tell you what they are carvings of." She looks up. "I'm not sure why someone would enchant a carving, but stranger things have happened."
Maldorn attempts some 'mending' of his own. "I apologize for any misunderstanding that might have taken place in this very room just a few minutes ago. Listening to the others Ebokk pitches in. "If there is any trouble, perhaps I could help. It's the least I can do."
Grendel pauses, clearly mulling something over in her head. Finally, she looks at Ebokk. "Since your family has such a long history with Eilikasys, I don't think she'd mind if I told you." She takes a deep breath. "Eilikasys can be abrasive even in the best of times. She's very confident and has the knowledge to support it. But she's ... a bit distracted right now. A friend of hers has gone missing, and she's worried. I've never actually met them, but her reaction gives me the suspicion that he's someone special to her."
OOC: So I'm understanding that you're taking the shield and scrolls with you. Ebokk, someone had homebrewed the shield, so that's cool. I added it to your inventory. One thing that isn't showing up right is that it gives advantage to every skill check when you have it equipped. That's incorrect. The resistance to lightning it adds is correct, but the only advantage it gives is to all acrobatics checks while on board a ship. Once you all decide who gets what scrolls, you can make a note of it on your character sheet for future use.
"I wonder if we could help search, ease both of your minds. I think all we had on our to do list after perhaps selling some things was to go look at a cemetery,"Erric says.
OOC: I have added the Hunter's Mark and Entangle scrolls to Maldorn's inventory.
Maldorn has a counteroffer to Erric's suggestion: "We may not necessarily be in the business of maximizing the sale price of these scrolls. Personally, I am comfortable with selling the two scrolls we cannot use to our dear host here. Let us show that we would prefer to continue doing business with her going forward, that we are willing to forego a possible higher payout in order to maintain a mutually beneficial relationship. What do you think, friends?"
