When you realize you're doing too much: Signature.
Snow begins to fall, and as the wind grows into a gale, the skies darken with clouds.
Then, a burst of strong wind knocks causes a small avalanche from the cliff above you, and it comes crashing down on top of you and Harshnag! Rasa, forced down by the tremendous blast of cold air, is likewise covered in the snow. The horses cry as they are buried underneath you.
For a moment, all you can perceive is darkness and the muted panic of your horses. But when you work yourself free, you can see that your path has opened up. Through the increasingly heavy snow, you can just make out massive pillars supporting a tall dome made from stone.
"The Eye!" Shouts Harshnag over the wind. He lifts his axe high like a torch. "We're nearly there. Can you still move?"
You all can fairly easily make your way through the avalanche-load of snow, but getting your horses free is another matter. They are trapped under the snow. And the storm is getting worse. What do you do?
Rasa will immediately seek out Derrikoth. "Donde? Josephus. Where is he?"
Upon being directed towards the trapped horse, he will use his best combination of fire cantrips to loosen the snow and ice. He will also cast Speak With Animals and will shout towards Derrikoth's horse. "Do not worry, amigo, we will not leave you here. But the best I can do is loosen this snow. I need you to use all your strength and pull yourself forward!"
Swiper peeps his head out of the snow after taking a tumble, shaking off the excess of the stupid cold wet stuff off his feathers before trudging his way over to the rest of the group. “Help the horses?” Swiper questions up to the Harshnag. “I’ll give you a shiny! Please?”

Nirzeg clawed his way free growling in frustration, but eventually clamored to the top. "****. You. Cold." He states at the snow beneath his feet, kicking some aside for good measure. The anger soon fades from his features seeing the sorry state of the group. At the risk of losing some powder to the wind, the githyanki patted himself down hurriedly until producing the iron and speaking the incantation resulted in his own growing to a larger size.
From there, or so he hoped, it would be a simple matter either following Rasa's instructions or lucking returning in simply the then large bodied gith uncovering and dragging his own horse free before moving on to the others. A giant hand stays on the reigns of his own the whole while, however, once rescued.
The frost giant looks over to where the horses are buried. "Oh!...yes, of course. I can carry one or two, if you can handle any stragglers. It was just the three horses, yes?"
Harshnag straps his axe onto his belt and dips down into the snow. Seeing that you are working on Josephus, he throws his attention towards the other two mounts. It takes him about half a minute, but he uncovers both of the riding horses you purchased in Mirabar. With one under each arm like a medium-sized dog, Harshnag trudges against the biting wind and blinding snow towards the temple.
As he powers onward, you see through the blizzard a 40-foot-wide causeway, spanning across a great divide. It leads directly to the temple, a bridge over a deadly precipice.
"It's just over the causeway...I'd recommend some climbing gear. You littles are bound to get blown right off the bridge in this weather!" Harshnag's normally quiet voice is turned up to a deafening bellow, beating out the howling of the wind.
The wind and snow seem to oppose your progress, churning around you with fury. But with Nirzeg and Rasa providing magic support, you are able to follow Harshnag's brightly glowing axe like a beacon in the storm.
The great stone causeway stands unmoved, covered in ice and snow. The wind kicks this snow up, blowing it into your face, numbing your senses. But thanks to the gear you purchased back in Mirabar, you are able to make use of anchors and rope belays to cross in relative safety as you hunker down against the gale forces.
The causeway ends before a stone dome carved from the mountainside. Six 30-foot-tall stone pillars support the dome, the apex of which towers 60 feet above your heads. Each pillar is carved with a wraparound bas-relief, depicting various scenes of giants performing deeds of greatness. Harshnag sets down the horses and uses his axe to shine light on one of the nearby ones, which is fashioned into the likeness of a frost giant, chopping down a great pine.
Josephus and the other horses are not built for this kind of cold, and will need some rest and recuperation before making any more journeys.
// Once you arrive at the temple, each of the horses receives Exhaustion, level 3. Josephus can make three saves against the effects of exhaustion, DC 15 CON for each level. Remember that if he fails the first two, the third is made with disadvantage. //
Harshnag's eyes then go to the back of the dome, where a 40-foot-wide, 40-foot-high hallway leads into darkness, into the mountain...
"Lights are out," shouts Harshnag over the wind. "Looks like no one is home."
// The map is updated on Roll20. Squares are 20 feet, and the interior is darkness unless otherwise noted. Hence the fog of war. Harshnag's axe will essentially act as a torch. Is there anything you do to prepare, or anything else you'd like to check out here in the outside? //
"Wonderful. And the one time I did not dress appropriately for the occasion." Nirzeg groused, as he adjusted the currently deactivated goggles about his neck. A clap later, and Zeek soon leaps out of the shadow of his cloak and flies his way onto a shoulder. "We need get the beasts inside and secure somewhere on the off chance of company at our backs. Harshnag! As this is a place meant for your kind, you wouldn't mind taking point with that light of yours? Myself, Zeek, and Derrikoth shall flank you, with the other three bring up the rear." He suggested, as he himself stepped back to dispassionately check on his horse condition.
"If all are in agreement, let's be on the move now."Nirzeg on that point starts guiding his horse by the reigns into position, and Zeek having flown off ahead of the group to keep lookout.

Harshnag agrees. His axe shines as he holds it aloft, casting a bright light into the darkness of the entry hall.
// Nirzeg: How far ahead would you like Zeek to go? //
As you come in out of the bluster, you can see that the wind has blown snow dozens of yards into the entry all. And in the snow, you notice human-sizrd footprints leading into the temple. Someone else is here.
Seeing the footprints, Nirzeg squints at them hard, then look to the path ahead with annoyance in his expression. "It seems we aren't the only ones to seek out this ******* oracle." As his gauntlet covered hand stroked as his chin however, some of the tension fades away at a thought. "Though with any luck, followers of giants or not, the fools will set off any trap ahead of us. Nevertheless, we press on. Stay on guard, and keep those weapons unsheathed." He warns before he at least continued into the structure.
“Swiper be good at seeing and disarmin’ them traps of need be!” The kenku pipes up proudly, then quietly mutters, “Sometimes.” He heeds you Nirzeg’s words and keeps his swords out, just in case anything decides to pop out and attack them.

As you enter the massive hallway, Harshnag’s axe casts a bright glow around you. Swiper is able to make out two big gaps in the ceiling above you, suggesting the presence of some sort of barriers that can drop down from the ceiling.
If there is a trigger for these barriers, you don’t see any—and no one has triggered them yet, in any event.
From deeper down the frozen hallway, hundreds of feet in, you can make out the dim light of a flickering torch. The sound of distant grunting echoes off the icy surfaces, as if several men are trying to lift something heavy.
At just a whisper of a thought, Zeek's focus is turned away from merely scouting ahead to find a perch to await the moment his master. Only once when fifty feet once more was Zeek to sneak their way closer to the noise and report on it. In the meantime, aside from any report from Swiper or another to disuade, the Gith is just as fine on the surface about pressing ahead; an almost malicious glee touching his expression.

Rasa will fly to the ceiling and inspect the two openings. He wonders if he can use a piton or two on each to try and block whatever could fall from them from ever leaving their sheaths.
Rasa discovers two mammoth-sized blocks of stone, 20 long and 40 feet wide—no telling how tall—hanging inside the two recesses in the ceiling.
(If you want to try and jam a couple pitons in between the massive blocks of stone and the recessed wall, go ahead and make a Strength check. Proficiency with Thieves Tools, climbing gear, or something similar will allow you to add your proficiency bonus)
"Caramba." Rasa will fly back down and inform the party of the HUGE stone slabs, their size, and that they would be near impossible to block through normal means. "These are not triggered here--not physically, at least. Pero we should be careful not to set them off or we may be stuck on one side or the other, yes?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Rasa will put a finger to his beak and whisper a quiet "shhhhhhh." As he does, a small ember burns from the tip of his finger, emitting an impossibly large amount of smoke for such a small flame. The smoke pours onto the floor around the party and sticks to them like shadows, muffling the sound of their movements and making them more difficult to see.
Rasa casts Pass Without Trace. +10 to Stealth Checks for the whole party so long as you remain with 30ft of me!
"Hn. Anti-Seige doors then. Brilliant, if but troublesome... They'll be kept in mind." He would say well before it came time for silence. While not the stealthiest, beneath the veil of Rasa's magic, even Nirzeg's more rigid footsteps are at least muted while proceeding forward. Zeek would not have such a benefit. Between flight, a small bodied form, and plenty of shadows likely ahead, he gets by just fine.
