Dezlo took in the scene unfolding with interest, wondering exactly how this would play out. upon hearing the request for a countdown, the kobold drew herself up.
"Alright, Dezlo will be countings for you then! Try to win the arm fight when Dezlo says go! Starting to counts now! One! Two! three! GO!"
The two arm wrestlers lock hands and, as the count finishes, muscles strain as they attempt to force each other's hands to the table. They are very evenly matched it seems, but, slowly, Lupin's hand inches to the table top, then slams down as he is bested.
As Lupin rubs his arm after his lost "Bloody Gork, Me almost had Ye!..well it lookz me take da cellar then.. Oi! Da Dungon iz all for ye"
He smiles despite his lost in front of the strangers "Me name Lupin, I used to be a servant of quite a strong wizard..but after da unexpected ..he he..turn of eventz..me now free..me can workz for me own"
GRAHL TO LUPIN: “Feel free to stop by anytime, mate...well fought, name’s Grahl. I sailed with the pirate fleets out of Luskan until I was, er, not doing that anymore....been bouncing doors in Waterdeep for a while but I got bored with stomping the snot out of the common rabble. Figured I’d kick it up a notch or two, and before you know it, here I am...with me very own dungeon!”
Once everyone has had the time to settle in and return to the main floor's conference-style table, Quilla comes back down. You would have all noticed a locked door on the second floor with her name on it.
"Ok, I see everyone is present and accounted for." She says glancing around. She has the slightly nervous attitude of someone who has been given their first major project and doesn't want to mess it up too badly. You would notice the bronze flecks in her eyes are no longer there as she glances around at the group of you. She has a folder tucked under her arm, which she holds out to Alek Reynn. "Inside there is the details on our current contract with the community of Salt Marsh." She explains as Alek opens it and starts to look over the legal document inside. "It seems there is some sort of haunted house nearby that the locals want dealt with." Quilla goes on. "They have asked us to look into it, and have offered 35 GP for each of you if you are able to resolve the situation there." She looks to be getting over her nerves now as she paces slowly at one end of the table. "We do not have much to go on as of yet, so it might be a good idea for you to speak to some locals before going to check out this haunted house, though how you wish to move forward is completely up to you."
******
Reading through the contract Alek would see it is laid out pretty much as Quilla said above.
"Sounds like a simple enough job. If any ghosts and such are dead if any of you have magic it should be simple enough I think. If it is none of that then my sword can handle it well enough." Palisade remarks as he pats the hilt of his weapon.

That is how Lupin casts magic hand :D
Generally from the D&D rules:
As an artificer, you use tools when you cast your spells. When describing your spellcasting, think about how you’re using a tool to perform the spell effect. If you cast cure wounds using alchemist’s supplies, you could be quickly producing a salve. If you cast it using tinker’s tools, you might have a miniature mechanical spider that binds wounds. When you cast poison spray, you could fling foul chemicals or use a wand that spits venom. The effect of the spell is the same as for a spellcaster of any other class, but your method of spellcasting is special.
'And so it begins', Alek thought to himself while he examined their first offical contract. This whole affair didn't seem all too complicated. Most probably some kind of revenant terrorizing the neighbourhood. "Do we know the name of the person behind this contract? It mentions the community of Salt Marsh, but who brought the request to the company?", Alek asked. It would be easier for them to get the relevant information, if they knew which person to contact. "If not, the best option might be to question the good people at the nearest tavern. That surely could shed some information on the task at hand."
Quilla glances down as a large gem hanging from a chain at her neck starts to vibrate. She sighs and gives the group a smile of apology. "I need to take this." she explains as she grabs the gem and walks to the stairs. "Do whatever you believe is right, just get results." She calls over her shoulder, sounding harried as she grips the gem in one fist.
The contract is only signed Council of Salt Marsh, without any specific names. Seems like a bit of a laps to the Documancer, but it came straight from Head Office...
"Good friends, does anyone know his way around these parts of the Sword Coast? Because I most certainly don't. Haven't been this far South in my entire life.", Alek asked while looking in the general direction of the cartograhper. The sorcerer also tried to remember, if he ever had read or heard anything about this region. (History3)

Saving Face (No Action)
Once per short rest, if you miss with an attack or fail an ability check or saving throw, you can gain a bonus equal to the number of allies you can see within 30 ft. (max +5).
The map is very simplistic, probably due to Lupin's lack of practice with the tool as of yet. It is just a few lines to mark the road, a square for the close-by town of Salt Marsh, the cemetary next to the tower, and the tower itself. The clif is shown as a large box that is marked 'water'.
(OOC: You can use Int this time. You are actively investigating the area, so you are not going by intuition for this one.)
During the commotion, Orgen was busy writing in his parchment taking notes about his new companions. After hearing the note about the bar, he looks up and says, "Well that isn't a half-bad suggestion from you my half-orc friend, bars tend to be a great place to gather information... However, it may be tough for some of our companions to go to the establishment, depending on the attitude of the people." Orgen wasn't trying to be rude, but he wasn't familiar with the area or their attitudes to the goblinoid and Koblad races.
The Kobold watched their company contact wander away with a small amount of concern; they'd barely been in he area a few minutes rally and she was already having something important drawing her away. Was it related to the job they were doing? How worrisome, thought the noise Dezlo's new companions were generating was a little more so.
With little care for how polite the action would be seen as she scrambles up onto the table and closer to the map, finding it easier to see than if she were bending her small frame over the table edge. An ear twitched to-and-fro to keep track of the ongoing discussion while she looked the parchment over, trying to memorize the layout of the rough shapes so she'd be less likely to get lost wandering around later.
"Dezlo is not so sure if bar is best place to be asking first; drunk people and fishermen like to exaggerate, so we probably only get rumors and half-truths in there. The contract says Council signed it, yes? Maybe we should be goings to Townhall if they are having one? They have good reason to be truthful with us since they be paying us."Another moment is spent looking the parchment over, before the kobold sidles back over to the side of the table and jumps back into her seat.
TO ORGEN: "Ah, that is maybe also fair. People may not being liking it a dragon and bunch of others interrupt their drinking by asking them lots of things, yes?"
Jotting down another note He looks at the Kobold and says, "The town hall is a good suggestion as well. As we are the contract holders, they will more likely be tolerable, or happy about our party showing up to fulfill the contract. Also, there may be books about the history of the house as well. If we are dealing with a haunting, knowing the story about the house, or the floor plans will make things a little easier." Noticing the Kobold standing on the table he quietly rolls up his parchment holding it in his hand. "So folks, where do you think is the best place to go first? Personally, I think the town hall isn't a bad idea," he says suggesting to move to a vote and making his personal choice know.
GRAHL TO THE GROUP: “Alright, alright..how bout this then: rather than the whole lot of us going to either place hows about me an’ me dwarven friend here go see what gossip we can turn up at the local tavern. And all you smarty-pants types can go to the town hall and talk big words with the local leaders? Say meet back here in about...three hours?”
Grahl glances around the room to see if he gets any concurrence on his suggestion as he slaps his voting token onto the table in favor of going to the bar.
