Ravanala stays towards the center of the room, keeping an eye out on her companions, though new to her, as they travel aorund the room poking and proding doors and statues. She frowns, trying to figure out which is going to set off a trap first.
"Yes, I see no reason to be standing around doing nothing. The earlier we get out, the better." Maghana doesn't even pay attention to this room, she assumes the other party members already checked all that was needed to be checked and follows behind as the party heads east.
OOC: does the fact the the door was first on the northern wall and now at the eastern means something? Did it move or I have to seriously examine my memory?
The door swings open with the slightest of creaks revealing another room, about 45' across from east to west, and 35' from north to south. At the far north end of the room two orcs turn to see Misttyn standing in the doorway.
Orcish:
"Finally, something to eat. So hungry. She looks scrawny, but she'll do."
They both take a step forward, holding their great axes menacingly. They do not appear to want to make friends.
In the split second before battle begins, you take in the rest of the room. To your right on the southern wall there is a faded and torn tapestry. From this vantage point you cannot see if there is anything of import depicted on it. There are also various torture devices scattered throughout the room.
OOC: Roll for initiative. We will do block initiative with averages unless anyone objects. So party average vs mob group average to determine which block goes first. Party actions will be resolved within party initiative order if order of operations makes a difference (like for spell effects and what not).
Mob group Initative:
Red Orc (Left): 14
Blue Orc (Right): 18
Orc Block has an average initiative of 14.
For the benefit of those unable to use the map, the orcs are 30' from the door and standing 10' apart. The blue orc is directly north of the door and the red orc is 10' to the left of that. All of you are still in the previous room (the one with the demon statue as ornamentation) in various places throughout the room. Currently the furthest from the door are Ravanala and Wing, who are both about 35 - 40 feet away standing side by side in approximately the middle of the previous room.
Maghana is capable of understanding what the orc just said, so she knows how this will lead to combat and heads into it with her shield on one hand, and her other hand free.
[OOC]That means it comes down to less than 1 full integer, but the rounded down values are 14 to 13 with the Orcs barely outspeeding you.
Hearing someone else (Caryarus) from the other room seems to change up the strategy for the Orcs. One of them rushes forward, bringing his great axe down towards Mist, while the other moves to the east and against the north wall to be able to throw a javelin through the doorway at Mist or anyone else that comes through.
Blue Melee Attack: Attack: 11 Damage: 5
Red Ranged Attack(through half cover): Attack: 11 Damage: 8
Fortunately in the rush to claim their next meal, neither of the potentially deadly blows land.
[OOC]Party actions are up. The blue orc is standing in the doorway. The red orc is in line with the doorway and 35' away against the northern wall.
Wing hears the orcish language, he doesn't understand it, but his previous experience tells him that it most likely means a fight is coming. He takes his longbow and walks towards the open door, trying to take a look inside.
OOC: not rolling for initiative here, I was 15 minutes too late.
Mist did not get the words but you do not need to know orkish to understand nothing good was spoken. Mist bravely stabbed the blue Orc with her sword and no less bravely immediately retreated!
Maghana doesn't seem to be intimidated as much as she should. Trusting in her armor and shield she stops where Caryarus was before, takes a handaxe out of the belt in her armor and tries to attack the orc in front of her down.
Attack:17Damage:5Slashing
Back in their language, she says:
"Leave! You're just two against six. You'll both die before having a chance to eat one of this group."
After that, she stays exactly where she was, shield ready for any and all attacks.

Mist's attack strikes true, wounding the orc in the doorway grievously. As she attempts to retreat, he retaliates.
Attack of Opportunity Against Mist:Attack: 18 Damage: 17
The attack bites down into her shoulder as she attempts to peel away. It hurts, a lot, but less than 6 inches to the right and that axe would have split her skull.
Afterwards the combined efforts of Wing, Maghana, and Caryarus more than finish the brute. He falls to the ground with an arrow through his chest and an axe wound bisecting his carotid artery. Thick maroonish red blood pools around his body.
Seeing his companion felled so quickly, the other orc decides to cut his losses and search for easier prey, running through the door in the south-west corner of the room.
Orchish:
"You'll regret this. I'll see to it!"
[OOC]Ball is in your court. If you let him get away combat is ended. If you decide to give chase I will expand the map so you can see where you are going and we will continue in initiative.
"That brute knows this area far better than we do." Ravanala calls out as the orc flees. "Best to let him go rather than get lured into some sort of trap he can bypass while we know nothing about."
