"I guessed that settles it and we are saving the relic," barely audible whispered Ella. Out loud she said (after respectful bow, of course): "You are most generous, Reverend Mother. We promise to put that items to good use and will do our best to reclaim the relic."
"Is there anything you can tell about the crime itself? Any suspects? Did the thieve leave anything behind?"
Jahanah seems genuinely surprised - and pleased - by the sudden formality. "We are far from the warmth of the Flame out here, Bright ones such as you may yet give me hope." She replies, bowing in return.
"It's very strange how it happened. I had left to run an errand a few days ago, and left the Chapel in the care of one of my acolytes, Jeriah John. So you can imagine my surprise when I ran into him with his hands full of groceries not long after. He claimed to have not yet even been to the Chapel that day.
I was quick in my return, but not quick enough. The Arrow of Truth was nowhere to be found when I returned. Later that day, I'm told Jeriah, or rather the thief wearing his likeness, was seen leaving the brokerage of Zodor Tarev. I suspect Zodor may have hired the thief himself. Unfortunately, out here the Church lacks the...Muscle required to get to the bottom of such things."
"If you were to start anywhere, I would suggest Zodor's brokerage office. If he himself isn't responsible, he may be able to point you in the right direction at least."
With your Investigation check, was there something in particular you were looking for or at around the Chapel?
Area around the the place where the arrow was kept - may be thief dropped something small and hard to see but recognizable? Or left a mark by something identifiable?
Ella was the definition of attention: "I assume you did not noticed anything odd Jeriah's behaviour? It was an identical copy, in every way possible?"
During the discussion, Madik will ask, “Can you tell us more about the relic itself? What does it look like? Is it an actual arrow? Does it have any distinguishing features, and how will we know it?“ and “Forgive me, a few more details: is it ‘magical’? Is it ‘consecrated’?”.
The arrow itself was kept on a pedestal behind the altar. Glancing around it, you see nothing around that might give some clue as to the thief's identity.
"It was a brief exchange, admittedly nothing seemed out of the ordinary. Of course there was no way Jeriah actually stole the relic, unless he's secretly been practicing as a wizard over the years. I suspect the culprit was a changeling. We have many of that kind around here."
Mother Jahanah ponders Madik's questions for a moment, answering in turn: "The shaft of the arrow itself is meaningless. Wood rots overtime, and thus it has been replaced several times over. The arrowhead itself is the important piece. Crafted from silver, it is embossed with a symbol of flame."
"If you bring it back to me, I can verify its authenticity."
"If it's magic, I can confirm it over a short period of time." Maphira quips from the back. "If we can catch the thief, do you want us to detain them?"
Madik presses the reverend mother for clarity, “Sometimes, when I quiet my mind, I can sense magical or consecrated objects. It’s like I can.. ‘hear’ them, or even ‘see’ them when they’re obscured from view... I can’t explain it... But you’re saying this relic is neither?”.
The priestess smiles, then nods. "Of course. You may find that it is imbued with certain...properties. If you are able to sense magic, it should light up like a beacon for you."
Mother Jahanah raises an eyebrow as Skrípi's interest is piqued. She takes a moment to consider her answer before speaking, "It is the Arrow of Truth. It reveals the truth."
"Well if this is simply a matter of retrieving the item in question from a broker...This should be a relatively simple task. We can always check to see if the office is open right now before we take our rest for the night."
"I should warn you, Zodor was less than helpful when I approached him. But yes," she gestures at the lot of you, "I imagine he would be more amenable to requests for information when presented with the sight of all of you."
"Might be a bit trickier than that, if the "broker" is a fencer - his whole house will shine like festival fireworks". Ellaly sighed - she did not really hoped to find some hard evidences but had to check anyway. "Shall we go to Zodor then? Reverend Mother, do you happen to know something about that man that could help ... persuade him to tell the truth?"
Madik looks at Ivello “I agree, that we should check if the office is open, maybe ask a few questions” she says, her hand tightening somewhat on her warhammer...
Then she looks sheepish, “Although, in order to attune to the vibrations of magical or concentrated items, it would take me some time in rest, and prayer and meditation”.
The priestess sighs, shaking her head. "I'm afraid I don't know much about him personally. He keeps bodyguards, but that isn't abnormal for a broker."
"As I'm sure you are aware, King Boranel has guaranteed first refusal of any salvage to the Brelish nobility...But there are rumors that Zodor runs a black-market, selling to anyone - Brelish nobility or not - who can put up enough money."
To the rest of his group, Ivello will reply. "If diplomacy fails, we can always resort to trickery. Perhaps intimidate him by pretending we're onto his scheme, with enough evidence to put the proper authorities on his tail if he refuses to cooperate. I don't know your particular skill sets, but that is a farce I could probably pull off."
The priestess nods, "certainly. It's a rickety little shack on the southern most street of Salvation, east of the main thoroughfare that runs north to south. It's marked by a sign over the door, you won't miss it."
Ivello offers another bow to the cleric of the Silver Flame, "Thank you for the information. Hopefully the next time you see us, it will be with the Arrow in hand." With that, he will leave the chapel and head towards the described location of the brokerage office. So long as no one else in the party has more they need to say or ask.

And to Jahana, “Can you direct us to this brokerage office?”.
