Boomer places a finger to his lips, and makes a soft shhhhing noise. He cocks his head to listen for the sound again, wondering if it sounds like anything he's smashed before (Nature5)
OOC: I forgot to add in the guidance, so I had a 14 on the original roll, plus a 2, so 16 total
Grimm replies, "Something snarling this way comes... well, actually, that way lurks about. Boomer is trying to remember if he's heard something like it before." At this point she turns to the group, quietly stating, "Either way, we need to get out of this marsh because I don't want to go about curing you all of trench foot if I can avoid it. We could try to continue going down the road. This home does not feel very.... hospitable."

Torold's bones have begun to ache from trudging through the muck. He notices the group converse about a strange light in the distance. Keeping silent, he maintains a small distance behind the group, wary of predatory hunters among the mist. Perception: 522 He's seen a many misery to ever not be cautious.
He, too, sees the house with its iron gate before the group. It is too enshrouded to get better details, but a growl is evidently heard from the rest of the party.
"Perhaps it is a guard dog. No reason to bother the property or its inhabitants if we mean to continue. Do we?" Torol asks in a hushed tone.
Audin considers a moment and shakes his head. In a hushed tone glancing towards the snarling: “I agree with Grimm. We need to get out of this marsh. That said we came here to find out what is happening in these parts and all we have found so far is the mist and the swamp. I doubt we will find anything but mud until things clear up, it is a miricle we found this house even. The least we can do before we move on is look around the area. I say we circle the house and see what else is here at minimum.”

Grimm sighs, "Very well, but let's do this quietly.... and quickly - seriously, trench foot is bad. I don't want to deal with it. Given the snarling, I'd say let's not split the party. Shall we all circle right or left?"
OOC: In anticipation of us choosing a direction and following Audin's lead....
Stealth check (at disadvantage due to scale mail): 1
Moving even slower (1/4 speed) to keep any eye and ear out for anything suspicious (perception check): 15

Did you open and go through the gate? If you are circling the outside of the wall, the house is surrounded by the stone wall and no other entrances can be found.

Devious serpent folk devoid of compassion, yuan-ti manipulate other creatures by arousing their doubts, evoking their fears, and elevating and crushing their hopes. From remote temples in jungles, swamps, and deserts, the yuan-ti plot to supplant and dominate all other races and to make themselves gods.
Boomer very loudly whispers to the group "Pointy thinks we should just go inside. Open gate means open house! Maybe noise is just a nice doggy?" Boomer looks through the gate at the house. "And if it's a bad doggy, then Boomer can smash!" Boomer looks incredibly excited at the idea of smashing something
Upon opening the gate, you come into a large front lawn (of course, the lawn is all muck and no grass).
"The manor house is shrouded in mist and is difficult to make out fully. It is large but not enormous, and has an upper story. The gray brickwork is fractured and ancient, and a number of the facing windows are cracked and broken. A short gravel path leads through the swampy ground up to a heavy, wooden door."
Suddenly, a loud growl is heard and out of the mist leaps a massive black hound!
Hound's Initiative: 6

Torold considers the words of his acquaintances. Perhaps asking the proprietor of the manor for respite until the fog clears would be wise. Even as a Natural Explorer, it isn't wise for a party to venture in such bleak conditions.
"I suppose with some diplomacy we could obtain shelter until the fog shifts elsewhere."
Not very soon after opening and walking past the open gate, a large hound leaped and attacked.
Torold Initiative: 10
Natural Explorer: Favored Terrain - Swamp
I can double my proficiency bonus for Int/Wis checks concerning swamp terrain While traveling for an hour or more in swamp terrain I gain the following benefits: - My allies and I are not slowed by difficult terrain and can't get lost except by magic - I am alert to danger even when doing something else; I forage twice as much food - If alone (or alone with beast companion), I can move stealthily at my normal pace - When tracking, I also learn the exact number, size, and time since passing
We're just waiting on AN7 to roll initiative for Audin.
