You try to stop people to ask them. Most passersby are simply too busy and don't seem to notice you, but there is a woman who initially heeds you hailing. However, no sooner do you open your mouth than she sees your facial features and makes a hasty excuse. "Um, excuse me, I just remembered I am late for an appointment!" She turns to hurry down the street, glancing back as she goes.
"well at least they notice you Marav, in crowded places like this I'm little more then a child to their eyes. Anyway, when we rescue all those people from those barbarians they will likely be cold and hungry. I could use your help purchasing warm clothes, blankets, and some food. We can ask about that temple of yours on the way if you like." Rip is with Marav btw lol, got you're back greeny
Finally, he is finished with the knots. “Here you are! Shortens the overall length a little, but makes climbing a whole lot easier. You’ll be thanking yourself for those knots if you’re planning on climbing this whole length!”
"Thank you, good sir. And nevermind about the "dragons" comments - I'm likely just confused." Ink pauses a moment and asks, "I don't suppose you'd know of any old book sellers here in Everlund, or an individual known for selling odds and ends. Just looking for old, used books of lore. On the cheaper side if possible - most of the budget went to your fine product... but absolutely worth it."
Flight to will use the time to try to find the Lord's alliance. He'll ask them about the kraken alliance in yartar, sightings of the frost giants, and see if any recognize the area the wizardwizard described from the scrying.
"I have an idea Rip... you need to be noticed and I'm looking for information. Specifically I am searching for an Insignia from a dragon, Bahamut preferrably, but any dragon would work. You could use to stand out. I can also carry quite a lot this way."
Marav picks up Rip as he has done in the past and shifts his form. Not into a Dire Wolf this time, but into a huge white stallion shifting so that Rip is on his back, in the fashion that Rip Dangerfield should be seen.
//You can persuade better on horseback I assume, let them overlook you. I also don't have to deal with their totally justified anti orc sentiments... lol BTW scrap all of this if horses won't aren't being used in town, the idea is to make him look good, not to get stuck in an alley.

The man beams with pride. “Old books, eh? Not much use for books myself, but I heard there was a fellow in town selling his book, just during Highjarvestide almost a month ago. Volo-something. Supposedly a big deal. Like I said, I haven’t much use for books. But he had set up shop at Edmund’s Curios, a silly place if you ask me. Suppose that might be the kind of place you’re looking for, though...no offense intended!” He says quickly.

Asking about the Lord’s Alliance will get you directed to the Hall of Elders, and to High Sorcerer Vaeril Rhuidhen in particular.
BTW scrap all of this if horses won't aren't being used in town, the idea is to make him look good, not to get stuck in an alley.
The roads here are mostly quite wide enough for horses, and are made from cobblestone in many places. With Marav helping in this way, Rip gets advantage to any Charisma checks he’d like to make.

"No offense taken - you provided that which I asked for. Good day to you."
Turning to Crownsguard, Ink asks "Care to check out Edmund’s Curios? I'm hoping to find some books that could assist me in my studies - both in lore and the arcane."

Quick flashback to the group of us planning on regrouping at sundown at Danivarr's House.
Flint goes to the Hall of Elders "Ahm lookin' fer Vaeril Rhuiden."
The door guards signal your arrival, and you are met by a steward, an older human female in upper-class clothes and hair pinned up in a bun. "The high sorcerer is very busy. May I inquire as to your needs?"

Edmund's Curios can be found in a row of shops on the back side of Everlund—an area that looks as if it caters to less-than-savory individuals. Nearby is a tavern with the words "Missing Minotaur" inscribed on the lunette over the entrance. Opposite the shop is a bowyer.
Edmund's name is inscribed in a wooden sign with a blue shield; the sign obviously used to belong to the Lionshield Coster. The building also has divided-light windows on its frontage, similar to the Lionshield Coster in Yartar, although these individual glass panes are caked with grime and dirt around their corners.
// BTW, there are travel supplies (warm clothes, rations) available at the market for standard prices. If there is any other standard equipment you want to buy here, just check out the price in the Player's Handbook, let me know you're buying it here IC, and deduct the gold from your sheet! And if you have any questions, just let me know. //
The market in Everlund is one of the busiest you've seen; the atmosphere is much livelier than in Yartar. And while Everlund pales in comparison with the larger cities on the Sword Coast, it is still very much an economic force to be reckoned with.
“Ah! Of course.” The steward quickly leads you inside the hall and into a grand office with a wide desk. The curtains are drawn, and sconces on the walls burn low. The office’s single occupant—sun elf from the looks of it, with many white streaks in his brown hair and beard—hunches over the desk, reading a scroll by candlelight.
”Elder Rhuidhen, you have a visitor—a representative of the Lord’s Alliance.” The steward bows you in and closed the door.
The elf straightens and stands, pulling out a wand and casually waving it in the air. “Yes?” He asks as the curtains fly open, letting sunlight into the office. “How can I help you, good sir?”
"Thank ye fer seeing me Lord Rhuiden. Ah'm Flint o' Citadel Adbar, an ahm operatin' fer th' Lord's Alliance, Sword Coast region. Ahm sure ye be knowin' o' th' Ordnin' an' th' giant activity." Flint continues with the details he remembers from Nightstone, the cloud giant castle, Triboar, Noaner's Hold and the adamantine ring, trying to mimic Ink as he delivers these bits of news.
Next Flint mentions his companions. "Ah've fallen in wit'a elven Harper, an a bein' strain outta ancient Netheril, some construct who seems born yesterday but has ancient knowledge. Good folk in a fight ta be sure, just reportin' on th' affiliation."
Finally, "an here's what ah need some help with if ye can be o' assisantance," Flint relays the search for Rip's family as the most urgent, asking if he knows a way to discover where they may be located and also asks if the elf has a solution for the ring "it's a ship anchor ta be sure, but ah want ta get it away from th' giants, an' truth be told, ah want a cut at its value too."
Ink, at Crownsguard's invitation, walks into Edmund’s Curios.
The building is sizable, a little bigger than the Lion's Share (Lionshield Coster) in Triboar, although the basic layout is similar. Cobwebs adorn the rafters here, and many candles on the walls, stands, and counters supplement the dim light that filters in through the dirty window panes. The floor is swept, at least, and the surfaces all seem to be relatively free of dust.
On display in this rundown store are many books, including a vast number of recently printed tomes authored by Volothamp Geddarm, the legendary explorer: Volo's Guide to Monsters. Additionally, there are stacks and shelves of older books, haphazardly put together and ranging in subject matter from adventuring to magic theory to cooking to children's novels.
Stacked alongside the books is an odd assortment of trinkets and decorations: a miniature suit of armor, wooden toys and play-weapons, a couple skulls that might or might not be authentic, a clear substance in a glass jar labeled "gelatinous cube, deceased." There are also things like small carvings of ivory and marble, a brush, a pearl necklace that doesn't seem to be catching the light from the candles so much as giving off its own faint light, several ostentatious hats, and many other randomly assorted things.
That is the front half of the stores. The back half is hidden away behind a counter, somewhat like the Lionshield Coster in Triboar. Behind the counter is a middle-aged human male with pale, pock-marked skin and a shock of reddish-brown hair. He looks up from the counter and nods as you enter, but says nothing at present. He then returns to reading a lengthy piece of paper.
