People think that I did something special, but, no. All I did was slip through the cracks of the curse, mere luck or chance got me where I am now. Regardless of how I got here, I have been sent forth by my tribe for a single purpose: we are returning to glory, and it will be with wings and voices.
Edit: Made for an Aaracokra folk hero background, but leaves class and everything else to you if you want to use it.
For context, in the default canon of the forgotten realms, the raven queen (I think, might not be her) cursed the Kenku, taking away their voices, creativity, and wings because they stole from her.
By reading this signature, you have agreed to pull 20 cards from the deck of many things. If you lose your soul in any way, it will go to me and the following will happen: When you create your next character, you will become a celestial warlock in servitude to me. Once a month, I require an ounce of empyrean blood. If you fail to deliver on this, all the cards you pulled will converge on you at once.
(My Warforged Rogue character's backstory): I was built to be one of many deep-cover assassins hiding in plain sight waiting to be activated - but my maker died before his plans could be brought to fruition. Now I wander the lands seeking the other eleven like me. The question is: if I find them, what will I do next?
Me young and foolish, and not heed shaman words stay away. Me see pretty rock and want take it from stone stick, but rock weak and break under strong ogre hands. Me cursed, strength taken, and smart given, me understand magic better than shaman, but since I weak, me sent away.
(Idea for an ogre wizard who was cursed after trying to steal a gem from an obelisk. Strength and intelligence reversed so he is physically weak but now very intelligent.)

You can lead a dwarf to water, but you can't make him get in the boat.
I was happy once, my love and I eagerly awaited the hatching of our baby. My love and I both of magestic blue scale but then my love turned into a Blue Abashai and disappeared with our unhatched child. I will find them and reclaim my child, even if I have to travel to the Abyss and battle Tiamat herself.
*Blue Dragonborn on a quest to find their child and turns out their wife was an Abashai in service to Tiamat all along.
The flip side.....
I was born and raised in the Abyss among the Abashai of Tiamat. Mother, a Blue Abashai, has sent me to the material plane on a quest to kill a certain Dragonborn. I do not why they have to die but I shall do as commanded.
*Tiefling, tweaked to give racial spells in line with a Blue Abashai (so: Shocking Grasp, Disguise Self and Darkness) and looking more like an Abashai than a standard Tiefling. The Dragonborn its been sent to kill is it's father.

I used to be mostly concerned with huntin,’ fishin,’ an’ journeyman feetball. Then, one day, a mysterious stranger came to town and ever since my life has been travelin’ around with her, one adventure after another with me fightin’ for my life at every turn. Funny how things turn out sometimes; idn’t it?
I'm not sure how DM's will feel about this one but here goes....
I believe dice decide my fate, whether the gods or fate or luck guide me I do not know but the dice always do. With dice I can see the future, influence people and creatures and twist the fabric of the world. I learned my art under the tutelage of the Great Divivner known as Icosa Hedron, she disappeared recently and I will use what she taught me to find her.
*So basically a Wizard with School of Divination, using a small wooden tray as an Arcane Focus and whenever a spell is cast, or portent dice generated, spectral dice roll over the tray to determine success of failure.

All I ever wanted to do was dance, but fate had something different in store for me. When the Thiatian army invaded my homeland I answered the call to join the Defense Militia. After the war… well, let’s just say that now my feat take me on a different path.
PC :: Gojh the Everrunt (Goliath) Giantessence (flavored Sorcerer - War Cleric - Rune Knight I was the runt of the litter—something my brothers and sister were always quick to remind me. Once my sorcerous powers emerged, I caught the eye of a human warpriest of Tor. She offered me a chance to prove my mettle through adventure, fellowship and battle.
NPC :: Charl Atansh'm (Tiefling) Fate Stealer (flavored GlamBardlock) I always could convince anyone of nearly anything, even devils. I used that skill to trick scores of devils into granting me power without consequence. Now they're pissed—all of them.
PC :: Qisma (Kobold) Eikosi Warlord (flavored Eloquence Bard / Order Cleric / Battle Master) If you need to inspire greatness or twist fate, I'm your kobold! Everyone thought me lucky (most would say "too lucky") until my expulsion from Strixhaven. Now with my stolen Quandrix Primer, I push my luck and my allies through constant adventures, each more difficult (and deadly) than the last.
PC :: Draxyn (Brass Dragonborn) Gladiator (flavored Fighter/Barbarian) I was an aging gladiator—on my last wind. The sorcerer Phis bought my freedom as a lark. No one's laughing now.
This is an interesting one! Thanks OP; minimizing the words like this does help to boil things down to the basics.
PC: Normanir Chandler (half-elf)
My family was well-to-do, stuffy, and stifling. When I discovered the truth, I could not abide, and they fell by my own hand. I now travel to root out fiendish influence in Faerun…but sometimes you have to fight fire with fire.

Now I live a half-life as a Dhampire, cursed to slake my thirst on the blood of innocents, oh but the power, THE RUSH!! •gasps• Now I travel, sword in hand to find a way to slake this thirst forever… one way or another….
Chanderleer Bling is my name, freshly ejected from the College of Eloquence. My Bardic skills are rather sub par but I have artistic parents, Mother is a playwright and Father is a singer and performer in the theatric arts, so I am sure I will grow into something more special. Now all I need is a group of friends to follow and dramatise our adventures...could I BE any more excitied!

Human. Male. Possibly. Don't be a divider. My characters' backgrounds are written like instruction manuals rather than stories. My opinion and preferences don't mean you're wrong. I am 99.7603% convinced that the digital dice are messing with me. I roll high when nobody's looking and low when anyone else can see.🎲 “It's a bit early to be thinking about an epitaph. No?” will be my epitaph.
Hollow unbreakable arrows are the most OP common magic item, and my current method of coming up with insane combat shenanigans.
if you make a steel pipe with one end closed and a nozzle on the other, you can enlarge it, fill with any liquid, and then drop concentration, creating a high pressure squirt gun. (or a pipe bomb, depending if it holds)

I was a bard who traveled with a band of adventurers on many journeys.
Then one day, we were beset by a terrible unknown force, and all of us were slain.
Yet somehow, I rose from death, and still carry the painful memories of my fallen comrades.
….this nifty idea blends a level or two of “The Undead” Warlock with the latest Humblewood “College of the Roads” Bard subclass.
The bard uses the “tricks” of the subclass to emulate the skills of his fallen allies.
