I'm descended from a God, via a long lineage of Gods. Which God? It doesn't matter you haven't heard of them because they are very secretive. You will not find me unless I want to be found and things may go missing around you but thats not me, honestly, I may even help you find your lost items.
*Race: Deep Gnome going for a Shadow Sorcerer for class and reflavouring the Hound of Ill Omen into a "Rat of Ill Omen and Unsual Size". The God in question is Raxivort and the standard Deep Gnome appearance is changed to be more Xvart-esque (See VGtM for Xvart) and going CN for alignment instead of the usual Xvart CE. I would take Svirfneblin Magic as a feat and have it as Raxiforts Blessing and then merge that with Darkness, Invisibility and Greater Inivisibility spells to hide. Play up the Xvart mentality of Greed and Cowardice but by being CN instead of the Xvart CE it should still be fairly group friendly.
"I am a bullywug, I am a warrior. I went out one day and got gold for Boss Gorgle-Zcroog, but I may have err... Kept just a tiny bit for myself. Anyways, I barely escaped from the tribe when Boss found out. Now, I seek more treasure and gold, and maybe one day I can go back to my tribe and get back the treasure that is rightfully mine."
I am an (insert race) infantryman. I pretty much hate anything that gets in the way of my ale, food, women, and sleep. Right now, I am pretty sure I hate you for bothering me with all of this.
"I am a centaur who grew up in a cozy cottage in a nice, big centaur family in the feywild. From the day I was born, I had innate and wild magical capabilities that came and went at times beyond my control. At first, I was ashamed of my lack of control over these powers, but so many people don't have this gift that I've decided to go out into the world and make use of it."
(Centaur, wild magic sorcerer.)

Years ago, I was a simple housewife caring for my husband and our three children. When Haemer lost his position at the local mill though, I had to take up a second job in order to make ends meet. Now I've taken up the adventuring life, where I'm finally making enough money for my family to live like we used to.
It was a dark and stormy night. An omnius crackling voice said "eat this" and a small loaf of bread fell to the ground. Fabulous secret powers were revealed to me that day...

As a bit of an aside I did stumble upon a "Simpsons as D&D characters" thing online, they came out as follows:
Homer: Barbarian (Path of the Berserker)
Marge: Cleric (Peace domain apparently mainly due to the Marge vs Itchy & Scratchy episode where she says she is against all violence)
Bart: Warlock (Fiend although I personally think more of a Prankster Archfey patron would be better)
Lisa: Bard (College of Lore)
Maggie: Rogue (Assassin...well she did try to kill Mr Burns)
Da darn clan left me to die in the cold saying I should leap from a cliff and end it all so I wouldn;t be a burden. Now, I may be Long of hair and short on teeth but this dun annoyed the heckins out me and I swear that I'll find em and givem all a damn god whippin for leavin me. Nothin' gonna end this ere' old dearie till she's a ready to shuffle off this mortal coil and I ain't ready to do dat for a long time yet.
**Presenting Etta Stoopa, a whip wielding geriatric barbarian out for revenge on her clan for thinking she was too old to be of use, the name is derived from a Scandinavian word but I like the idea of using a "hillbilly" style voice for her.

"I grew up worshipping Torm in a temple. Now I have joined an adventuring party that I know will play an important roll in this worlds future on his request. Little known to the party, I have the blood of angels in my veins, and I am an aasimar.I will ensure that my new friends swords do not falter and I will guide them when their mind wavers. They will not fail, they must not fail, and I will make sure of it."
I haven’t seen home in a very long time, not since my apprenticeship to The Lady in Grey began almost a decade ago. I have learned much of the ways of magic and spell work in that time, and am now a novitiate Wizardess in my own right. I can’t wait to see the looks on my parents faces when they see that all the money they spent on my apprenticeship was worth it.
One of my most devout followers beseeched that I might divinely intervene and to use of him to change the world; so I did. Now with this vestige of myself possessing his body, I roam the mortal plane trying to bring about the change I seek. Although, I am quite unfamiliar with the life and habits of these humanoids and have much to learn before any meaningful change can be brought.
{mechanically I am envisioning an Aasimar Cleric, with the celestial heritage reflavored as the follower allowing a portion of the god they serve to possess them and with the clerical abilities reflavored as this vestige of this deity slowly accessing portions of its powers through the weak connection to the material plane.}

"I am a fairy named Bob. I grew up in the feywild in a family of 23 kids. One day, I was playing in the fairy playground, and my dad called me "Jobk." Ever since he got my name wrong, I've realized that I am always, always, forgotten. So now, I've gone out into the world as an adventurer, to make my own name, hopefully it's one that people will remember.
(Fairy, class of your choice, probably not a sorcerer though.)
I became an apprentice spellcaster. Picked up a wand I shouldn't have and accidently turned my master into a toad. Now I have a spellbook in my hand, toad in my robe pocket and I'm searching the world for a cure.
"I am a goliath sorcerer who grew up in the mountains. I have an ancient blue dracon ancestor from many years ago, which gave me my sorcerous power.
"But most goliaths value physical strength over magic, so I'm gonna show them that magic works just as well for adventuring as physical strength does. I also look forward to seeing the looks on their faces when I bring back a clinking bag of hundreds of gold pieces."
(Goliath, blue draconic ancestry sorcerer.)

I was a ferryman, I transported the bodies of the dead to the island cemetary just off the coast. One day a great storm threatened to wreck my boat and consign the bodies I transported to the depths, I cried out for aid and it came, Geron the Merrenoloth. It calmed the storm and granted me safe passage to the island and now I roam the world seeking to quiet the storms others face.
**Probably a warlock with a fiend patron or maybe a Storm Sorcerer or Tempest Cleric and using an oar as a wepaon (treat as quaterstaff)

I joined the Monastery of The Faithful Hand when I was very young, I knew it was my destiny to fight evil among their number since I was but a child. Before long I had become an adept in the ways of The Hand, and was told by Master Hershal that to progress further I had to set out into the world and use the techniques I had learned against The Hand’s true enemies, the forces of evil. Evil beware, for when I do return to Master Hershal’s temple I intend to be a full fledged master myself, ready to teach pupils of my own.
I am a llama with prehensile paws who grew up in a clan of llamas.Humanoids seem to be shocked when they see a walking/talking llama like me, but I guess that's just because of how jealous they are of my coolness! Anyways, I've been working on my sneaky stealthing skills and intend to be an adventuring hero! Watch, cause Jerry the llama's about to save the day!"
"Oh, that's why you can't understand me, sorry, I'm in horse form! Anyway, I'm a druid of the moon who grew up abandoned in the forest, running with the elks and brawling with the bears.
"But one day, a mass expedition of hunters came in, killed all my animal friends, and cut down the whole forest. My forest and family may be gone, but they're not the only forests and animals out their who are in danger! So watch out for me hunting losers, because I am the protector of the wild and I'm ready to die for the cause!!!"
I am blessed, some say cursed, with Lycanthropy. The spirit of the Bull dwells within me at all times but I only let it out in times of great need. I can commune with the spirits of other animals, fear us for we are many.
*Totem Warrior Barbarian and using Minotaur for race but with the twist that we look human but when we rage we transform into the minotaur form, probably usiong bear and elk (from SCAG) for totem powers, in my head it all works as minotaur horns appear to count as melee weapons for attacks so should benefit from rage damage and the bear and elk powers can be reskinned to be bull based. Just rage, put your head down and run around the battlefield goring foes and knock them flying.
