IMHO Jackie Chan is the lvl 20 Monk, and he fumbled during the movie production, where he had advantage basically, as he was helped, but yet, quite often he's got injured really bad. Still, we love him even more, because he never gave up, he still played along the dangerous scenes. Respect.
I was actually hoping that Sam's new character could have some chance to drop some in-character puns even though he's not a bard. I'm not disappointed. ^^
It might just be me but i don't really like their new name, the whole Nein joke is getting old and bordering on annoying
I didn't want to complain, but I agree. I guess it's an indication though that this campaign is meant to be more easy-going fun game rather than the same epic adventuring as the previous one. Though they started more fun names in that campaign too. And the Vox Machina was more the indication of their group, not the characters'.

I totally agree, but it is their group not mine. I was hoping for a little more creativity on that point -- but it doesn't mean that it cannot be changed in the future. I mean they did change their name in C1 if I remember correctly (perhaps it was before they started actually filming, but it happened nonetheless).
I honestly think the reason I don't like it is that it seemed forced. Matt asked them for a name of the group, and they really didn't have anything so on the spot came up with something. Does the group really need a name? I think it was put out to give the audience something to call them in reference to this campaigns adventuring party to separate them from Vox Machina and not just say the Campaign 2 Group. It's possible some of the characters in the group (and possibly the players) may grow tired of the name at some point, and perhaps gain a "better" name based on some event that occurs in the future.
Yeah, I thought they'd choose another latin name with the same anagramma. Like Vince Malum, or Virtus Magnus, or something alike. :) But it's not a terrible name for a team. Maybe after their next epic fight they'll get inspired for something even cooler. :)
Here's the additional information that Matt posted on reddit:
As to Nott's "drunkeness", this was actually a mechanic that Sam requested be added for the character. We chatted about it, and decided on a small set of rules. It granted a shift in RP dynamic and bravery (immune to being frightened), but had some detriments to some ability checks (not attacks, like the Poison condition). That's all.
All is well. You worry yourselves too much.
I'm glad to see that there's some "balancing" to Nott's drunkeness. I thought Matt was kind of unfairly penalizing him (her) for what was a role playing decision to have some liquid courage.
You know, I take back all my complaints about the new name. They maxed it out in this episode. :) And afterall, it can be quite nice to have the number 9 in their name as to represent some guest members as well.
Vox Machina's original name was The S.H.I.T.s. their home game before going to twitch probably was the same way, that's just in the nature of early levels.
I think it's fun, and I enjoy the fact that they're still friends making dumb inside jokes at the table.
Once they get a high enough level, by nature of the game progression it'll get more serious. For now though I'm enjoying the ride

I know what you're thinking: "In that flurry of blows, did he use all his ki points, or save one?" Well, are ya feeling lucky, punk?
That moment between Caleb and Jester last night was nice, I liked that. I also enjoyed the interaction between Caleb and Fjord towards the end, sounds like we may get more of Caleb's backstory soon.
I totally agree. I'm really enjoying how they're starting to have these individual moments, and really forming bonds on a personal level. I think the interactions with Caleb are going to be great litmus tests for how the group is gelling, because he's the biggest holdout. As soon as he fully trusts everyone, we'll know that they'll have fully come together.
I get excited every time Jester is gearing up to prank someone or whatever.. like leave the little Traveler pamphlets she made all over the place. Her subtle trolling of the entire world gives me joy.

"The spell creates more than one beam when you reach higher levels: two beams at 5th level, three beams at 11th level, and four beams at 17th level. You can direct the beams at the same target or at different ones. Make a separate attack roll for each beam."

Thanks.
I incorrectly assumed that eldritch blast scaled like other cantrips.

Did I miss something? As I was scrolling through the comments, I came across yours. Went back twice to the previous page to see if you were talking about an episode with Jackie Chan in it? Sorry to bug you but what are you referring to?

I loved those Firbolgs - such an inventive character.

I agree 100% with the skills of Laura's character. By far her role playing is the best so far.

How do you get a one-armed goblin out of a tree?
Wave!

Does anyone know how Fjord casts two eldritch blasts on a turn?
Does he have a feature/magic item/invocation that allows this or were they mistakenly applying Thirsting Blade to this cantrip?
He is 5th level.
