So I have a new player in a game I’m running. He’s a big Naruto fan, and he wants to play a character like sasuke Uchiha. Now, she understands that there is no direct correlation. But I am having a hard time figuring what character class I should recommend. Monk seems obvious. But I wanted options.
Good lord, I’ve heard of this phenomenon before, no worries, just have him split his levels between monk and wu jen mystic, I’m not sure how I would handle sharingan, maybe some feat or something, I have seen naruto-inspired shinobi classes, sadly, most of them are not very good.
Is he wanting to be more like younger Sasuke from the beginning of the Naruto Series or more like Sasuke from late Shippuden and Boruto, because Sasuke's fighting Style has evolved quite a a bit in his life.
Edit because I posted before being complete: If we are talking about earlier Sasuke where he had far less powerful jutsus and relied more heavily on stealth and information gathering to find weaknesses in order to defeat opponents, I would definitely go with an Arcane Trickster. However if you are talking about older Sasuke who is a master of the sword and has mastered powerful Jutsus rivaling god-like entities, I actually think Bladesinger would be a better choice.
Probably this post has already been abandoned since it's been a few months since the last post, but I did not fail to notice that there was talk of the Naruto ninja world.
If your new (no longer new) player is still interested he could take a look at my Homebrew that I have recently created, I would also like to receive some criticism for improvement if possible.
The basis of the sharingan is to pair the ninjutsu (spells) and taijutsu (fighting techniques) of the enemy and to enhance the genjutsu (the illusory techniques).
I suggest you focus on the illusion techniques and combat.
Following the official content, I would recommend a mix between shadow monk and a rogue arcane trickster or an arcane trickster with at least 2 levels of Wizard: Bladesinging. Even a pure rogue arcane trickster can be interesting.

Arcane Trickster would be pretty good. Dextrous, skillful, access to limited lightning and illusion magic.
