I'm working on homebrewing my own subclass (for Warlock, if at all curious) and am trying to make a feature that gives a couple of actions at varying levels, (i.e. levels 1, 3, etc.). It's intended to work on a charge system, regaining charges after long rest. That's all fine and dandy, but the meat of my question is as follows; if I want all the actions the feature grants to work off of the same collective pool of charges, how would I go about that?
For example, let's say you have two total charges to use on this feature at level 3, and have access to two of the different actions it provides, action A and action B. If you were to use action A, and action B right after, you'd have no more charges you could spend on either until after a long rest. The issue i'm running into is finding a way to make them use this shared pool, while still having the actions actually "effect" the character within the D&DBeyond interface (Raising weapon damage, https://mobdro****/https://vidmate****/ granting additional affects, etc.).
The closest ideas I've had so far were using the Actions/Add Actions tab on the feature itself, but the roadblock I seem to run into there is that it doesn't seem to me that you can add charges to a feature but rather the actions specifically, which would imply to me at least that they're still only pulling from their own unique pool vs a shared one. I've considered using homebrewed spell equivalants and adding the spells to the feature as cantrips, but I'm still not clear on how that would affect it over all... Worst case scenario, I just have the single action of using the feature so there's only one pool of charges, and I just have to remember to add whatever effects in the moment. Not the biggest deal, just trying to use the UI to its fullest.
Anyways, this could be entirely off base thinking, and it could very well be that the actions do share from one pool by default; I'm just uncertain, and haven't had the opportunity to full test it yet. Any feedback on the situation would be great, even if it's as simple as "you're doing it right, keep going." Thanks for taking the time to read, at least.
Add a limited use for the actions. Add Level Overrides for these limited uses at set levels after creating the action. You have to click it again to add the limited use. So do this > Create Action > add descriptors > save > scroll down to the action again once you are back in the features menu for that level > click the action and click edit again > scroll down and click add limited use > set the limited use value Eg. 3 - 1 Charge > save > go to limited use again > repeat but at set different levels off your choice.

This is correct. If you look up and see how ddb implemented Ki points, Channel Divinity, Sorcery Points, etc, those "charges" only have 1 Action to keep track of, yet there are multiple actions, or even other features that refer to them. There is no shared pool of "charges" to keep track of, just a unique Action.
The easiest example to look up is the Battle Master subclass, just use it as a template and you can dissect it like back in high school bio, only without the smell.
