Thinking of homebrewing a Druid subclass based on the Mass effect Sentinel Class. Wild shape would be used to activate a ability similar to tech armour. Was also thinking of a arcane spell list being added as well.
Any suggestions on how to make this work and be balanced?
If you're interested, there's also a thriving Mass Effect 5e conversion that I personally love. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post links but if you Google mass effect 5e it should be one of the first things.
The balance is different from base DND 5e but honestly I think the game is so deliciously flavorful for Mass Effect. You can even play as a Salarian! (My personal dream)

I know what you're thinking: "In that flurry of blows, did he use all his ki points, or save one?" Well, are ya feeling lucky, punk?
Seems more Artificer than Druid.

My initial impression was artificer as well. What is it about this concept that made you pick druid as a base class?
My homebrew subclasses (full list here)
(Artificer) Swordmage | Glasswright | (Barbarian) Path of the Savage Embrace
(Bard) College of Dance | (Fighter) Warlord | Cannoneer
(Monk) Way of the Elements | (Ranger) Blade Dancer
(Rogue) DaggerMaster | Inquisitor | (Sorcerer) Riftwalker | Spellfist
(Warlock) The Swarm
That is covered by the Spores Druid subclass, if that's what you're after have a look at that one for inspiration.
