Eralynn pats Raastin on the back, as if to say Welcome back!
Ecko, as you align the telescopes to the stars that stand out among all the others, you hear a soft clicking noise from the door to M13. Of course, any telescope you look into gives you the most amazing image of celestial events that you've ever seen.
Eralynn jerks her head towards M13, hearing the click, and became a bit defensive, thinking something was about to emerge from the room.
As Garmus takes a moment to collect himself after seeing such an amazing sight he sees Eralynn's head quickly jerk to the side. He immediately pulls his axe out and straps his shield on, readying for whatever she heard.
Ecko nods towards the rest, excitedly writing down what he'd learned. He solved something! Ecko excitedly bounces into area M13, curious to see what such an elementary puzzle would produce. "I suppose the stars have aligned correctly."
"Oi! Ya crazy bird, hold up! Ya can't just go rushin' into a space like that in a crazy place like this!" Garmus hollars and goes after him as Ecko heads into the other room.
Eralynn does the motion of laughing, packing up her things, and following the crew.
AREA M13 - THE CHAINED LIBRARY
This room is bare except for a bookshelf covered in chains against one wall, a plain wooden bench, and a reading desk built into the shelves. A book with the bust of a mage on its cover sits on the desk. The three shelves are filled with books bound in iron covers, which are attached to chains that secure them to the shelves—a chained library. The reading desk is used to support the chained books while they are being read.
You can tell from the door that the book on the reading desk has the letter L on its spine.
"Well this is certainly a bit ominous," Ysabell replied in a pleasant tone as she stepped forward to look over the bookcase. Noting the letter on the spine, she commented, "And it looks like we've found our second letter. Seems it'll be a bit of a scavenger hunt to find the rest of them." Then remembering the Kenku's fascination with books, she took it and handed it over to him, saying kindly, "You'll probably find more use for this then I ever will. Let us know if you find anything useful."
"You were lucky this time, don't do that again." Garmus says to Ecko as he looks over the room, letting out a big sneeze as the dust tickles his nose. "Why would anyone chain up books?" He questions as he smooths his ruffled beard.

"Perhaps they're of the man-eating variety." Ysabell commented with zero hint of sarcasm.
Eralynn shakes her head and takes a step back, but you can tell she's wondering why they're finding books with a single letter on their spine. She eyes the bookshelf warily.

"Gods, yer serious aren't you? Another reason to not bother withum'." He huffs.
Ecko's beady eyes widen perhaps impossibly large as he sees the library. He instinctively approaches, familiar with the feeling of old, dusty books cracking open on a bench. He had spent hours of his life curled up, power-reading tomes and manuals of all kinds. The Kenku's eyes rapidly shift between each and every book, converting the titles to memory, before he focuses on the lettered tome.

Ecko perfectly replicates the sound of Garmus's sneeze as he pokes his head in further. He was right. It was dusty. He droops slightly at being reprimanded. "Maybe you're right. But books are so exciting! The fact that they're chained up more only makes them so much more intriguing! That means there's knowledge here that's limited to this library. Isn't that fascinating?" he babbles in a multitude of voices, deciding to stride forward.

Ecko enthusiastically bobs his head up and down, snatching up the tome. He flips through, eyes giving the pages within a cursory glance, analyzing the words contained within. He then flips it around, running a feather finger over the embroidered L on the spine. He nods. "I suppose there are more in the collection."
Ecko then immediately swivels around, heavy bag stock full of half-finished trinkets barely avoiding crashing into Ysabell, and reaches for the remaining books before wincing as Ysabell mentions books that eat people. In an attempt to avoid the more carnivorous of tomes, Ecko scans his eyes over the books, looking for any pattern or signs of teeth. He jots a note in his journal before searching for something to open the chains. They were there for a reason.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ecko sqeaks in surprise! The sound of a machine's gear slipping out of alignment and clanging against the wall some hundred feet away launched at an unreasonably high velocity fills the air as he blocks the blow with a shield.
He draws a dagger, striking it against a serrated area of his shield like a match. It lights up in green flame as Ecko slices downwards with a dagger, ensuring not to catch any books in the process.
Raastin, hopefully in the right multiverse, will help with Ecko's investigation.

At this moment in time, one of the books on the chains lashes out and attacks.

Eralynn startles visibly, and backs away, mouthing something that she can't say or write quickly enough!
The bookcase is alive!! If you wish to defend or attack, roll for initiative - otherwise - run away?!
