Singe shakes his head, “No, but I did find...” Singe sifts through the stuff “1300 cp, 700 sp, 90 gp, a carved wooden staff, a vial of perfume, a silk hunter's cap, a glass necklace, a dagger, a crossbow, and a weird key, it’s shaped like a question mark, it does have some magic qualities.”
"The relevant equation is: Knowledge = power = energy = matter = mass; a good bookshop is just a genteel Black Hole that knows how to read." - Terry Pratchett
With a sigh, Shanolia tosses the hilt into her pack and walks back to the rest of the group. While Singe is explaining what he'd found, the Elf grabs a well-made dagger and looks it over longingly, testing the blades sharpness with the pad of her thumb.
"Does anyone object to my taking this and the crossbow? I do not require any of the money, if that aids your decision."
As the quiet settles after the battle, Alton starts poking around the deck of the ship. "Not a bad ship, eh?" He says, not really expecting an answer. The close call on his life during the battle seems to have rattled him a bit, but it doesn't stop him from coming close to the pile of loot that Singe dropped on the deck. He smiles as Shanolia looks over the dagger and crossbow. "That's a lot of coin, innit? I get a cut, yeah?" He asks.
“Zamar is our treasurer. He’ll figure out the cuts later once were back to traveling. Until then I’ll hold onto it for him. It looks like he’s busy helping the others look for food. You can help me keep an eye out for any more sharks. You to Polly. Help me look out for any more sharks.” Perrin tells the other two quite chipper and happy that we’re finding stuff.
"Oh, yeah... 'course." He responds to Perrin. He then takes a spot at the forward section of the ship and keeps an eye out for anything coming their way.
Polly seems to ignore Perrin and continues following Lera around. For some reason, Lera keeps avoiding the poor girl.
Considering the lack of objection, Shanolia slides the light dagger into the empty sheath on her hip and kneels down to examine the crossbow - the craftsmanship of the weapon is breathtaking, and it's previous owner clearly took excellent care of it; though it's unloaded.
Quickly, she uses the rope around her pack to jury-rig a holster, tying the exquisite and holding against the leather bag delicately. Once that matter was seen to, she stands and begins searching for salvageable bolts; of which she finds two before giving up and returning to the group.

As Lera and Zamar are looking through things in the Captain's quarters, Polly squeezed between them and climbed upon the top of the desk, to get out of the cold water. Looking around, she spotted a small hole in the wall, and began to poke her finger in and out of it, giggling a little bit.
Zamar turns to Polly and says, "Looks like you're a real adventurer now. You even get a share of the loot." He smiles and squeezes her shoulder. "Hope E doesn't mind."
Eventually, the fear wore off, and Lera was able to go back to Polly's side. "I'm proud of you, Pols," she smiled nervously. The sorceress surveyed the Captain's quarters, finding a really cool monstrous eye petrified in quartz. After pocketing it, she moved on with her father and friend to continue looking. Noticing Polly sticking her finger in the hole, both Lera and Zamar inspected it. It was too perfectly circular to be natural...
"What do you make of this? Should we have our rogue take a look?" Zamar asked his daughter.
"Go get Shanolia," Lera nodded. "Polly and I will stay here and guard it." As Zamar left to get their elven rogue, Lera turned back to Polly. "Maybe you shouldn't go sticking your finger into a hole. We still don't know where the rest of this eyeball is."
Woe checks on the former crew quarters. She doesn't find much. It seems it wasn't a big crew and most of their armory has been emptied.
After a while she does find a net, a small case of bolts (10), and a scimitar that looks usable. When she returns to the others, she hands the case of bolts (10) to Shanolia. "This will go well with your crossbow." Woe smiles.
Then she addresses the rest: "Does anyone need a scimitar, I have my rapier, so don't really have the need for it?"
Woe keeps the net and puts it in her backpack, she also takes her share of the money. She will then walk back to where she dropped the gaff and is trying to figure out a way to deal with this shark.
While wandering about the ship, Zamar made his way down to the cargo hold to see if there was anything useful left behind. He finds a lot of boxes stacked, some above and some under the water, some ruined silks floating, and some cages containing the dead and bloated carcasses of some animals. He makes a mental note to come back with the others later to see what is in the boxes.
He then makes his way up on deck to find their rogue. "Shanolia!" he calls out, "Lera, Polly, and I have found something interesting in the Captain's Quarters that could use your trained eye. Care to come have a look?"
"Thank you." She slips one of the salvaged bolts into the case and clipping it to her belt, using the other to load the crossbow in advance. When she hears Zamar call her name, she turns to respond.
"With pleasure. Lead the way. Thanks again." She nods once more to Woe before walking with Zamar.
Shanolia sees the hole - it's... well... a hole, about the size of her pinky yet perfectly shaped like it was crafted rather than natural. She seems to think for a minute.
"Perhaps a secret mechanism, or the keyhole for that key we found earlier."She strokes her chin through her mask. "Or perhaps it's just a hole? I'll see what I can do."
She pulls out her Thief's Tools, fiddling with the hole for a long moment. The hole is definitely a lock, though what it opens is beyond the Elf - none of her efforts to lift the pins prove fruitful as it's a mechanism she's never come across before. With a sigh she steps back, slipping the multitool back into her pack.
"'Tis a lock, no doubt, though what it opens I do not know. I apologize, I could not be more useful than this."

Koll moves from group to group observing what they are finding on the ship, keeping his eye out for any sign of survivors on board, or any stores of food. He joins Lera, Zamar, Shanolia and Polly as they are investigating the captain's quarters. They have found a strange hole which Shanolia, after examining and poking around it, has determined is some kind of lock. Knowing that Perrin has a strange key that Singe had found, Koll thinks that maybe they go together.
After getting the key from Perrin he returns to the captain's quarters where he tries it in the round lock. It doesn't look like a match whatsoever but as the key gets closer to the lock it changes shape to fit it. Koll inserts the key and turns it, with brief prayer to Ilmater. There is a bit of resistance but he turns and it clicks as if unlocking. As it does so the key simply disappears. Then Koll feels something small and sharp shoot into his chest. At the same time, a small hatch opens in the ceiling and a pouch and a banded iron ball from it to land on the desk.
Koll pulls a tiny needle out of his chest. There is a slight tingling around the spot where it punctured him. Looking at the needle he sees that it most definitely coated with some kind of substance. He waits to see if he feels any ill effects, but the tingling subsides and nothing happens. (Constitution check 20+3 =23). He sends his thanks to Ilmater.
Opening the pouch, Koll sees that it is filled with gems. It has been a long time since he has felt it, but suddenly the old avarice that he used to feel when he was younger wells up in him at the sight of the treasure. What if he just pocketed one of those gems for himself? Wouldn't Loro be impressed? He palms one of the gems (Sleight of Hand 8+3=11) as he hands the bag to Zamar. "Here, you're the treasurer." The way Zamar looks at him, it's obvious he saw what Koll did.
"I'll go get Singe," says Koll, looking for a way out of an uncomfortable situation. "Maybe he knows what that ball thing is."
Shanolia curiously picks up the iron ball, looking it over for any markings or mechanisms she may be familiar with. Unfortunately, she misjudges the weight of the ball and - in trying to pass it from one hand to the other - drops it almost six feet onto her toe. She curses loudly in Abyssal, falling back and losing the ball in the murky water.
To add insult to injury; she found nothing on the ball that could help identify it, and she's now soaked head-to-toe. With an angry look she resurfaces, coughing and spewing profanity in the exotic language.
Back on the main deck of the ship, Koll calls out to Singe. "We found some interesting things in a hidden compartment. A bag of gems and a strange iron ball that maybe you'd want to have a look at."
Feeling the lump of the gem he had palmed sitting in his pocket, Koll feels shame and embarrassment wash over him. Why would he do such a petty and selfish thing? He was not here for treasure. That is not the path to enlightenment. No, they were here to look for survivors and find food stores to help them survive the rest of their journey. He walks over to where Perrin is standing.
"Have you found the kitchens?"
"I'm no good at finding stuff. I normally just ask people for directions. So, I'm leaving all the finding up to the rest of you while I've been keeping watch in case any of those fish folk come back," Perrin says with a sheepish smile.
"I'm not a very good investigator either," Koll says. "But I know there must be a kitchen on board. That's why we're here in the first place, no? I'll go look for it."
Singe nods and walks over to the captain's quarters. Zamar, seeing Singe enter passes a ruby with arcane runes over to him "What do you make of this?"
Singe turns it over, "Hmmm. The stone isn't enchanted, but it seems to be a focus for magic. You might be attached to a weapon or another item to focus magic through it. Anything else?"

"There's an iron ball around here somewhere, I require aid in finding it again, however." Shanolia answers Singe's question with an embarrassed look. "I might have dropped it."
