Instantly Bubbles is on the move, reaching deep into himself to trigger the fighting rage (Rage triggered) initially trying to close to strike Gar, but as he fades out he pivots his swimming and attacks the Seal Lion on the left, using the wall at BL13 in order to brace and bring Last Rites from on high to stab at the first of the creatures with little regard for his own defense (attacking Recklessly and utlising GWM to try to inflict the maximum damage)
Last RitesAttack: 13 Damage: 29 (GWM adj, +3 dam fro, rage, Bless +1d4 to attack) (I really did not need those two rubbish rolls on the first round)
Last RitesAttack: 17 Damage: 17 (no GWM adj, +3 dam from rage, Bless +1d4 to attack)
Divine Fury 7 (apply to first attack that hits), Brutal Critical 9 (if needed)
Gulp knew it was bad idea to sit here! On the other hand, his suspicion that it did not really matter proved to be right - those standing were stuck. Only pure reflexes barely saved monk from being entangled and he used his freedom to attack those abominations (or at least one of them). It was time to test the dagger!
Move to the left lion (BI-BJ) and attack with the dagger: Attack: 12 Damage: 12
(@MuggsHill: Just to confirm then, your two attack rolls are 13 and 18. None of them are a critical hit, so I'll ignore that Brutal Critical roll. Also, with 40 feet of movement, you can reach {BL-14} but not {BL-13}. Your weapon has reach, so it should be fine.)
Bubbles rushes toward Gar in Rage, but the aquatic human melds into the coral before the locathah can reach him. Pivoting, the barbarian turns to face one of the Sea Lions instead. The creature weaves out of the way of the first stab, but Bubbles corrects his trust the second time around. Last Rites pierces the creature's long torso. (Sea Lion #2 takes 24 magical piercing and radiant damage.)
Eager to test his new adamantine dagger, Gulp swims forward {BK-16} swirling his new blade with an apparent combination of skill and clumsy movements. He attempts to deliver four stabs with the dagger amid his chaotic movements, but finds that the first two strikes are not powerful enough to pass through the Sea Lion's natural armor. However, the two strikes that follow up are.
Although Gulp does not hit the nerves he was aiming for, the Sea Lion still bleeds. The monk then continues to move about, ending up back where he started {BM-18}. (Sea Lion #2 takes 17 piercing damage.)
Shanty is the first captured locathah to react. It takes him several seconds, but the bard successfully wiggles his way out of the strange entrapment. Once free, Shanty delivers a few words of encouragement to Undertow, who is still restrained. (Undertow has a d8 Bardic Inspiration die to add to a d20 roll of his choosing.)
(Undertow's turn is still up and he is restrained. @Ori is taking him over for the purposes of combat, so let's give him some additional time to post.)
(@Lerus: Plants, you say? Alright... Time for some BS plan that will 99% unlikely to work, but I'm doing it anyways! :D)
Undertow nods and starts to try and worm his way out of the coral. But then, he has a thought. For seeing as he nearly escaped the Coral when it first tried to capture him with far more ease than expected, he closes his eyes, focuses for a moment, and tries to connect with coral.
"Let. Us. Go. We are not your enemy."He burbles in aquan as primordial magic is called upon and diffused into the nearby coral. If freed, along with anyone else restrained by the coral, he immediately swims back a ways, but bids Riptide to swim forth and take up a defensive posture near the Sea Lion.
Action: Cast Speak with Plants using Primal Awareness, and request the Coral to stop restraining himself and anyone else currently "Entangled".
(@Lerus: Not sure if you want a check or not for this. But if it would, here's a charisma one if wisdom can't be argued some way given its Undertow's spell modifier(5). If check is between 11 to 14, expending bardic inspiration to add another(2))
Movement(if freed): To BN-21.
Bonus Action: Command Riptide to swim to BI-20 and Dodge.
Reaction(Riptide): If OA is triggered by Sea Lion. Attack: 8 Damage: 12 bludgeoning. If hit, creature is also Grappled by Riptide.

(@Ori: A creative choice, that's for sure. Let's call that roll an arcana check that did not use your Bardic Inspiration die as per your conditional statement. Then, your final roll is a 6. I'm afraid that's not enough to connect with the coral.)
Recognizing something plant-like in how Gar manipulated the coral about him, Undertow tries to communicate with his jailer. Although he feels that the coral is understanding him, he fails to create a stronger connection with the environment than the one it has with its master. Undertow remains restrained.
The ranger's voice still works, though, and he commands Riptide to distract the nearby enemy after approaching it.
Familiar with their master's fighting tactics, the Sea Lion duo rush the nearest restrained foe, which happens to be Undertow. The one being distracted by Riptide does not need to leave the octopus' range to reach its master {BI-18, BJ-19}. The one that had been attacked by Bubbles has no choice but to turn its back to the barbarian {BK-18, BL-19}.
-> Bubbles can perform an opportunity attack against Sea Lion #2 (recall that Reckless Attack only works on your own turn.)
The two creatures throw a swirls of fangs and claws at the ranger:
-> Claw vs. Undertow: Attack: 26 Damage: 20 (Damage reduced by Cutting Words reaction; reference.)
Shanty tries to help with a last minute shout of distraction, which is somewhat effective. Still, Undertow is a sitting duck at the moment. Should he survive, he'll have many new scars to show. (Undertow takes 70 piercing and slashing damage.)
(Sandlot and Barnacle are up next. Sandlot is restrained.)

(It would seem that I miscalculated distance between Undertow and foes. Not that it matter, considering Riptide would've missed anyhow. z.z)
Sandlot can only look on in horror as both beast -- the one even going out of its way, at that -- savage the his companion. Yet before regret or anger can blind him, the aged Locathah took a breath to calm himself, and focused his will upon his connection to Eldath. After a few moments, the music box in hand opened half-way, releasing bubbles, a gentle cyan light, and a soft, voiceless tune.
As it played, the sea began to bubble around Undertow until the bubbles merged into one great, big protective bubble about the ranger. Just before it did however, Sandlot makes sure to call out to the ranger, asking he remain still as the magic took hold on him.
Barnacle pushes himself forward towards Undertow. He needs to get these cat-fish away from the ranger, it doesn't seem like anyone could withstand that sort of concentrated attack more than once.
Flourishing his own trident, he knows it isn't as fancy as one of Gar Shatterkeel's tridents, but it has served him solidly enough and this might be a chance for to earn a name!
Focusing in on one of the cat-fish, Barnacle presses his attack.
Attack 1: 20 Damage: 9
Attack 2: 16 Damage: 12
Expending a superiority die to make a hit a trip attack adding 6 to the damage. Cat-fish needs to succeed on a DC16 strength check or be knocked prone.
Edit: adding advantage to the second attack in case it's needed: 20
Despite being a bit disappointed, Bubbles is not about to waste a chance of attacking his quarry. The barbarian stabs the bleeding Sea Lion once more. (Sea Lion #2 takes 19 magical piercing damage.)
Restrained by the coral about him, Sandlot watches in horror what the monstrosities are doing to a defenseless Undertow. The cleric remedies the situation by summoning a protective bubble around his ranger companion.
Barnacle swims closer to Undertow {BL-20} and maneuvers his unnamed trident around his torso. With a sweeping move, the fighter aims to force the already hurt Sea Lion to flip around and expose its belly. In spite of the success of the attack, the creature manages to quickly swim back to its "upright" position.
Not daunted by the partial failure in his strategy, Barnacle renews his attack. He adds three more puncture wounds to the creature. (Sea Lion #2 takes 27 magical piercing damage.)

LAIR ACTION
The strange magic filling the room acts up again. Coral grows from spots near each non-constricted locathah/octopus, trying to retrain them:
-> STR saving throw vs. a chamber-wide environmental effect similar to the Entangle spell {DC 18}:
Barnacle: 18
Bubbles (Rage):26
Gulp: 20
Shanty: 16
Riptide: 21
-> I forgot to add the Emboldened Bond (d4) for Shanty. Here it is : 2
Barnacle, Gulp, Shanty and Riptide are now also restrained by the sudden coral growth. Sandlot and Undertow are still locked in place from last round. Bubbles is the only one with full command of his movements.
(Bubbles, Gulp, Shanty, and Undertow go next. Unlike the Entangle spell, if you are caught by the LAIR effect, you can choose to use your action to make either an athletics or an acrobatics check {DC 18} to try to escape it. The spell would normally only allow this attempt with a STR check.)

Was he right or was he right? To be honest, Gulp would prefer to be very wrong here but his never-drunken guts seemed to be the perfect seer - the monster did lay out his speech only to kill them afterwords.
Gulp turned and twisted trying to free himself from the corals that he never before saw as an enemy: acrobatics : 20 but the corals hold fast. The monk did not give up, of course, just needed a moment to figure things out.

Shanty hisses in annoyance as the tentacles close round him again, and decides to summon his own. He then plays a strange, shrill tune on a set of pipes he wears around his neck, sending a quivering sensation down the spines of the 2 sea lions (and the coral if that works, but I doubt it does).
(Summoning eldritch tentacle thing to attack one of the sea lions and playing Pipes of Haunting.)
Tentacle attack: 16 Damage: 1 cold and speed reduced by 10 feet
(Might be a dumb question, but would the tentacle attack roll have disadvantage since i'm restrained? Or since it's a separate entity (kind of) would it not? I rolled disadvantage since I think that's the case, but not sure.)

(@Lerus: Barnacle had Embolden Bond on himself as well, and even a 1 on the d4 would be enough to avoid his being restrained.)
Through the pain, and despite of it at that, Undertow uses the reprieve to call upon a more shapeless spirit about him to help in his recover. Knowing, however, it would take time, his focus shifts again to the coral yet holding him in place. Though this time, rather than relying solely on primal magic alone, but to reach even deeper and coax the coral into releasing him and his compatriots. For surely much like a beasts being driven by cruel master, they'll be more inclined to listen to the softly burbled words and gentle brushing of a Locathah of the wild... maybe?
Bonus Action: Cast (3rd level)Healing Spirit on BK-20(Undertow's spot, I believe).
(I assume it takes an action past the first casting to try and remove the bindings, so with it mind:)
Action: Animal Handliung for- 16. (Adding bardic inspiration for good measure: 2)
(Or if the above does not require an action, Riptide is bid to try and free itself. In which case, DM may feel free to roll the attempt.)
