(@All: Not sure how much the party would necessarily know about krakenpriest/Krakens, or if by some weird chance following some other side venture, if they'd have any involvement with the very same Kraken. But just in case, Sandlot is gonna do some recollecting on the historical relationship between them and other aquatic folk to avoid OOC assumptions.)
Provided Shanty is willing to share his findings with the others, Sandlot would either find himself mumbling a focusing hymn to try and recall more on the subject, or trying his best to avoid attention after falling asleep on the job. In either event, troubled thoughts would have him again drifting over to the window and keeping lookout for a few moments more, so that the others could finish gathering their wits about them for what was to come next.
(Short blurb since something more hinged on other PCs actions.)
(OOC: Shanty's findings are assumed to have been shared with the group since all can see him reading the diary he found and it would make sense for others to ask him about it. In Sandlot's case, he is trying to recall some knowledge and others wouldn't necessary know he is trying to do so. therefore, I'll put the result of that check within a spoiler. It is up to @Ori/Sandlot to share what he finds. This is what I did for Shanty's most recent history check in this post, for example.)
The party let's the information shared by Shanty sink in, being, at least initially, silent in thought. Sandlot picks up on the term "Kraken Priests" in particular.
@Sandlot:
As a sea-dwelling creature, you have certainly heard of Krakens before, and are well aware that a Kraken can seem godlike to folk who have witnessed its fury. Those who mistake its might for divine power and those who seek to appease the monster through veneration are sometimes rewarded with power, not dissimilar to the contracts struck between warlocks and patrons, to serve thereafter as Kraken Priests.
The Kraken can make itself dimly aware of a Kraken Priest’s thoughts if the two are on the same plane of existence, and it can then push aside the Priest’s personality and control it. Kraken Priests can thereby act as eyes and ears for their masters, and when the Kraken has something to say, the Priest becomes its mouthpiece.
Every Kraken Priest undergoes a change in appearance that reflects the Kraken’s influence, although each one differs in how its reverence is displayed. One Kraken Priest might have ink-black eyes and a suckered tentacle for a tongue, while another has a featureless face and a body covered in eyes and mouths that dribble seawater. These horrific manifestations intensify when the Kraken possesses its minion to utter its dire pronouncements. Physical differences among Kraken Priests may also result in unique powers. For instance, you think that Whymsee's described ability to find refuge inside her own conch might be quite unique to her physiology.
You have seen one Kraken Priest during your long life. Here's the image you can remember:
The Short Rest is completed successfully. What would the party like to do next?
Gulp listened to digest of the story first as a fairytale but then his big locathah's eyes opened up even more. "So... On top of that lunatic, we have a Kraken on the loose? And this is his priest's headquarters? We need to leave then."He thought a bit more about everything said. "There is an exit, then? Priests are cleaning it up. It's small for the Kraken but big enough for people. That's good news. I wonder if Gar is keeping it small. Wait, that sound before - he was trying to close the exit right now! So Gar is right there!"
Gulp stood up, checked the weapon, adjusted the backpack, and looked everyone up. "Ready to finish it?"
Barnacle feels the aches and pains of his journey across his body. His wounds are only just starting to heal. His bones give off a dull burning sensation. He knows he could likely sleep for a week and not quite feel himself again.
Kraken Priests, Krakens (presumably) and Gar Shatterkeel. Barnacle isn't exactly sure how all these things intersect, but even he knows it's likely to be good. Or pleasant. Or conducive to anyone wanting a nice, quiet time of things.
Standing, Barnacle takes up his trident. He was put here for a purpose, maybe this is it? This is how tridents earn names. Looking to Gulp, Barnacle nods his agreement.
"Vremyn," Sandlot muttered, both somehow solemn and angry at once. "Remember now, this one does.... Vremyn... a Kraken Priest.... Knew this one, once.... Fought beside them, this one did... Back in old days.... Back when this one was made'her's'..." He admit, but would shudder in disgust with the admission. "Used him, other servants of her's had.... alike in mind and goal... For a time..... but eventually, a Foe in the end." He grimaced. "But time not right for stories.... Convey we can, Gar's true intentions... Of his only using them.... Turn them then, we may yet.... But as you say, Gulp. Hurry, we do... to the other passages."
With that, Sandlot made one final check to make sure all of his own things were in order, before making ready to follow after the others as the last one out.
(Just realized I had Telepathic Bond prepared, but don't think you can do rituals as part of short rest anyhow. So, c'est la vie.)
Bubbles listens but does not really comprehend the importance of the discussion about priests and the like, but when asked if he is ready to finish it he just raises Last Rites and nods "Just lead us to where it is....I'm ready!"
Bubbles will take up rear guard as he has been before, but ready to rush ahead should combat present itself
(@Ori: If you'd like to spend 10 more minutes casting the ritual, now is the time.)
(@All: There seems to be a disagreement regarding where to go next if OOC Chat comments are taken into account. So, I'll post an updated map and you can discuss and agree on the path forward. As usual, the red arrows will mark the paths of which you are aware. Let me know if you have any questions on the map.)
Gulp seems to have a hunch about what he heard recently and Bubbles and Barnacle agree it is time to move. Sandlot shares some of his experience with a Kraken Priest in the past while the party gets ready. Now, they just need to decide where to go next.
Undertow reminds the group that they have given Gar plenty of time to set in motion whatever plan he might have. The ranger begs the party to proceed cautiously.
"Let's check quickly that noise from above. Gar can be there - his sounds, or his corals, no matter. Then we can go back to see what's on the other side."
Gulp bounced from the sand and propelled himself along the way - for a quick peek, if nobody follows.
"Doubt, this one does... That Gar, would be there...." Sandlot disagreed, looking already elsewhere. But as he turned back seeing an almost eager to look Gulp, he'd sigh in defeat and shake his head. "If this turns out to be another hatchling swarm... Your wounds will be your own to tend to for it." He'd declare before drifting over ready to follow Gulp.... though, at a fair 15 to 20ft distance, just in case.

Gulp insists his hunch should at least result in some more useful information and separates from the group again, even if just for a minute or so. Sandlot disapproves, but recognizes that his words are unlikely to dissuade the eager monk.
@Gulp: You swim upward and over the steep sandy slope and is almost immediately barred by another unnaturally raised wall of coral. There are some gaps in the wall, which allow you to peek into the chamber beyond much like a keyhole would. You see what looks like a cluster of red-hued soft orbs swaying gently by one wall. Farther in, at the far wall, you see some sort of large tentacled beast lying on the floor of fine sand. (You may attempt a skill check of your choice to gather more information from this distance, if you would like to.)

"Ok, ok, old grump, you know you will thank me when I return." Gulp waved Sandlot off but had the decency to add. "Don't worry, I'll run back at the first sign of danger."
He stared at the strange creature and the globes for a good few moments until Shanty caught up. Then the monk snapped out of his fascination, admitted defeat, and motioned Shanty to come and look too. "Recognise it? Is that a Kraken? And what about globes? Some magic?"

Shanty shrugs and follows Gulp up the slope. They quickly confer and the bard examines the partial visual clues he can gather through the gaps in the recently created barricade. Shanty is well versed in many subjects, and submarine life is definitely one of them. Given his knowledge on the subject and the recent information he read on the Kraken Priests' diary, Shanty is fairly sure that this is not only the juvenile Kraken the tale concerned, but that it is also dead given its position and lack of movement or awareness. Unfortunately, the warlock does not recognize the cluster of red-hued soft orbs that is swaying gently by another wall.
Back at the bedchamber, Undertow begins to pace about a bit: "It has been well over an hour since we last confronted Shatterkeel. There is a multitude of nefarious deeds he could have accomplished in that time. I do not like this realization."
"We need to tell the others. Want to think more about those red things?" The monk pinched his barbels thinking, did not come to any conclusion, and returned to others.
"The Kraken is dead. No signs of Priestesses but some very strange-looking globes swimming about. Though, the path is closed."He pinched his barbels again, now irritably. "I do not understand, if Gar is not here, who makes the corals grow?" "Well, anyway, want to see for yourself - go now, while you can still see through the brush."
"Unless anyone thinks we will find something to use against Gar in there, why tarry here" say Bubbles restlessly, his attention still firmly on the caverns they came from

Shanty and Gulp confer with each other again and the monk quickly decides it is time to return to the others and share their findings. Barnacle finds the news too enticing and decides not to pass on the opportunity to see a Kraken, young and dead as it may be. He sees much of the same that Gulp and Shanty saw through the gaps in the coral barricade and then returns to the others to share his guesses that the Kraken Priests must be gone and that the red-hued soft orbs could be eggs.
Upon hearing all that extra info, Undertow recalls some information: "Bubbles and Gulp broke through one of the barricades before. Should we really want to enter that room, I am sure we can do so. Also, we have seen Shatterkeel vanish into the coral during our last encounter. Doubtless he could have done so again after raising this second barricade."
Bubbles responds by encouraging the group to simply leave the Kraken be and search elsewhere for Gar. Sandlot seems to agree and, heeding Undetow's earlier concern, begins to lead the group out of the relatively comfortable bedchamber the Kraken Priests seemingly called home for some time. He does so after sharing a few words with the reunited party, cautioning them to move swiftly before they end up facing an undead juvenile Kraken.
