Fearing that Undertow might be at risk of falling unconscious again, Amble disappears in a flash of green light and reappears right behind the ranger {AJ-29}. From there, the tortle touches the locathah's back and releases a small burst of healing magic.
More locathah blood is spilled, with Undertow once again getting the worst of it. (Bubbles takes 7 slashing damage; Undertow takes 18 slashing damage; Barnacle takes 7 slashing damage.)

11. Shaolar Quanderil (gray)

09. Undead Sailor (x3) - two others are turned/roaming and effectively out of combat for now;

NOTES: I assume that the Driftglobe is shedding Light from where Gulp is, although it is currently out of play. Same applies to Bubbles' Candle of the Deep, which is in play.Shanty's coin at {AF-33} is another source of Light.
Smarting from the ignominy of having let a zombie sailor get through his defences, Barnacle takes a leaf out of Bubbles' playbook, loading out in rage and with real venom.
Undertow can only just get out a nod of thanks prior to suddenly needing to defend himself once more. But despite his best efforts in deflecting parrying the strikes, the most he manages is to turn aside the blades enough for rusted metals to hit less critical areas. After all is said and done though, the Locathah, not knowing when to quit, tightened his grip on Shoreseeker and struck back with a vengeance at the rest. If albeit with smaller stabs and slashes, as any attempt for the more over the top moves again has him nearly flinch from pain of jostled wounds.
Action: Shoreseeker Fury on Undead(#24, alive. If not, any one recently injured by Bubbles). Strike #1 - Attack: 24 Damage: 9 magical piercing. Strike #2 - Attack: 18 Damage: 8 magical piercing.
Sandlot's Turn:
"Hold out, we must... Just a little more."Sandlot affirmed, if though tiredly in the moment. For despite the Aged Locathah's jesting before, he was still fast losing strength. They needed the fight over sooner than later, as he knew in his heart that soon enough, the others compelled away might yet return to complete Umberlee's work. That... would simply not due. So, after taking a breath to further steady himself, Sandlot again beseeches his goddess for assistance, offering more of himself if need be to see the work concluded.
An offer he intended to keep even if the other three undead are shortly dispatched before he can act. For in such an instance, further resolve is mustered in swimming over to the trident, pour his diamond dust over its form, and with the most fervent of prayers to Eldath, he'd hope -- he'd try to at least soften if not purge the connection Umberlee and whatever other entity Gar mentioned before had on the trident.
Action: Cast (Cantrip)Purifying Flames on Undead(#24, if still up. If not, targeting whichever one Undertow hit), inflicting 14 Radiant Damage on a failed Dex Save(DC 15).
OR(if even possibe, once undead are dealt with).
Movement: Get as close to the trident as possible.
Action: Pray(?).
(@Lerus: I'll add further flavor to the optional other action if it comes to it. But, not sure what type of roll if any would be appropriate.)

Whale-Gulp finally makes his way out of the coral trap. He begins to swim toward the fight but has to squeeze his way back through the passage he took earlier. He is now about 15 feet to the north of Bubbles' position.
Fighting through his injuries, Undertow switches target and stabs the undead sailor to the front and left of him. The damage dealt accumulates, bringing down this foe. Ignoring the sailor right in front of him, Undertow then attacks the one to his right, which had been engaged with Bubbles. It also falls. (Undead Sailor #24 takes 9 magical piercing damageand is DEFEATED; Undead Sailor #22 takes 8 magical piercing damage and is DEFEATED.)
With only one more enemy left in the field, Barnacle advances and thrusts Fork twice. The damaged sailor has no chance as the fighter claims the last kill. (Undead Sailor #23 takes 25 magical piercing damage and is DEFEATED.)
The party looks about for a few seconds, just to make sure no other enemies are still around. The last bastion of defiance seems to be Wave, which is sticking upright out of the sandy floor.
WE ARE NOW OUT OF INITIATIVE. YOU MAY DO AS YOU WILL.
With an exhausted shrug, Bubbles lowers his weapon as the last of the foes fall, taking a minute to survey the carnage around them before looking to Sandlot and the other for confirmation with a rather out of breath "Is it over?"

"Over, it... is not."Sandlor replied, and fairly curtly at that for him. He busily at the same time fussed with his person until eventually producing a side pouch proofed against the water. His smile after proves fleeting, as he soon again focuses on the Trident, and only barely calls out in time to keep Undertow from snatching it up. "Touch it, you do... and like Gar in the end... you may become... Her slave... Their slave, if Gar's other patron... is involved, as he'd claimed." He further explain while swimming over to the Trident.
Frowning, Undertow grudgingly nods and swims away briefly to unbind the body of Riptide from the coral. Enough at least to hold onto a tentacle, and what channel what magic was his to give to bring the Octopus back to life.
Primal Companion Feature: Expending a 1st level spell Slot.
.... If the beast has died within the last hour, you can use your action to touch it and expend a spell slot of 1st level or higher. The beast returns to life after 1 minute with all its hit points restored.
Meanwhile...
"Act quickly, we must... Before rooted yet, it truly becomes...."He winces and rubs at his forehead, mumbling something, before looking over and waving Amble over. "Barnacle... Shanty... Everyone... Closer, please... surround it.... with me... Hold hands too, if you wish.. Focus your thoughts, if you would... on each other... On the bonds forged before... and the bonds felt renewed in this venture... Focus on it. And then..."Sandlot sort of trails off from there struggling for a moment with getting the pouch just enough loose enough to pour out at a moment's notice.
"... And then... Right... Right... we need to... Mn... Just focus on it... The Bond.. The feeling of strength... in it..... Your brothers in this darkest hour... Whatever it takes, hold fast of it in mind, you shall.... then... imagine joining... your strength with... with all here..." Sandlot explained, and would wait for all to gather before beginning the next part. Even G'ulp, if still transformed is given a part in circling about the group, whipping up a small current and to help symbolize the bond of harmony, brotherhood, and strength.
Then came the more uncertain part once all were in place. Sandlot would pray, clasping his holy symbol in one hand, and diamond dust puch in the other, trusting whoever was closet to have a hand at his shoulders. And then with a firmness in tone not heard since his youth, what started as thought is vocalized for all to hear; absent of any of usual speech idiosyncrasies.
"O' Lady Eldath, Mother and Guardian of Groves, Heart of Harmony, and Guider of the Great Currents that connects us all. May you hear these words of your once lost child, and through him and the rest of your children here, see your gift shared and all made tranquil here once more. And to the seas beyond that! Let our strength -- the strength of the Bond we share together -- be your conduit for this great work! Let the heart of this needle of madness and darkness set before your children be cleansed, so that no other may lose their way through it again."
And so he entreated with a desperation and conviction only a faithful could truly muster, spreading the diamond dust over the trident towards the end in an almost circular motion. After which, come what may, Sandlot would bow his head... and wait to see what happened next.
(@Lerus: Took some liberties with Undertow, but I promise not to get butt hurt if there's retcons there. X) )
Religion: 23. (1d4 from Embolden Bond, if still applicable).
Gulp would be happy to participate, though in his current form (he was unable to shake it off - yes, he did try) the circle, that included him, would have to be quite big. Still, he would gladly offer his fins to anyone willing to hold it and could even make some humming accompaniment to Sandlot's chanting.
Barnacle stows his weapon given the battle has ceased for now and joins hands (fins in Shanty's case) at Sandlot's urging. Following his instruction, Barnacle turns his thoughts to the comrades around him and the journey thus far. The scrapes and near misses seem trivial now when they stand here with the obvious danger past them and the more insidious evil still to be dealt with.
Bubbles breaks the silence that follows combat by checking with the others if it is truly over. While Sandlot responds, Undertow moves toward Riptide's body and begins his own revivifying ritual.
A few moments later, Sandlot is organizing an impromptu cleansing ritual, unsure of whether the steps he is taking and asking other to take will blossom. Barnacle is the first to follow the given instructions, which convinces the others to join in as well. Even Whale-Gulp comes by and begins swimming in circles above the group to create a current that encloses the ritual space. Hands lock in place, a fin or tail makes sure to complete the circle, and even Amble partakes.
Sandlot invokes the power of the bond created among these adventurers in bringing such a corrupt evil to its knees. The light of Eldath makes itself known within the water circle created by the sperm whale. The water about the group seems to resonate with Sandlot's newfound tone of voice. As if in a cavern, the locathah can hear the cleric's voice echoing. At the center of the concentric circles, one made of water the other of locathah and friends, Wave begins to move ever so slightly.
When the diamond dust is poured on the trident, Amble takes it as a sign delivered by Eldath herself that her blessing is to be delivered though their hands. The tortle steps forward and, with an open maw, delivers the brightest bead of green light the group has ever seen to the trident at the center of it all. As soon as the bead touches the weapon, black ink begins to pour out of it as if abandoning the trident. Undertow can't help but think that it looks like the ink Riptide excretes when cornered, except in much greater quantities.
Sandlot hears a fading, macabre voice reach his head: "A much worthier champion you are... You'll be mine still."And then silence. In the center of the circle, Wave still stands while sticking out of the sand. It looks much like it always did, but its metal coloration is much brighter, cleaner, and possibly smoother. It simply stands there, waiting to be claimed.
Hearing the painfully familiar voice, Sandlot just closed his eyes and just softly sighed, refusing to dignify the words with a proper answer. For too long 'she' had lived in his head rent free even after finding what was once only a measure of comfort in the embrace of another goddess' side, and he was not going back to that again.
Eventually, the words of concern, curiosity, or even confusion from the others brings Sandlot back to the present. Though in that return, he groaned a bit, as only freshly healed ones yet gnawed at his attention. "Done, it is... For now...." He explained, before mustering a pained chuckle. "Land shapers and healers, guide we must... and see to further cleansing this coral.... But for now, my friends... Report, we must... Guide Amble home too, at that... But leave with that, we will." Sandlot gestures towards the Trident. "Cleansed it is now... But one of you, should take it... This one.... Wield not, this one... any weapon ever again, after this... But may yet some good, we find for it later.... Yes..."
With that said, Sandlot went searching for his shield, and upon donning it once more, turned to the others ready to depart at a moment's notice. Though... if the others wanted to find some place away from the dead to rest, the Locathah would certainly not be opposed to this before they left!
