Brix's salve stabilizes the wretched creature, who stares into Brix's eyes.
Leviathan. Staring into the kobold’s eyes, you suddenly fall through a nightmarish stormscape: a dread leviathan wings through the rain and lightning—what evil do you see lost between worlds?
=( o dear, I feel bad, I have messed everything up by trying to talk to the boss lizard thing...last time we messed everything up by rushing in ...what do i do, what do i do,,,,ooo hoo hoo....
Thredash's shoulders and chest start heaving as he goes through the breathing exercises the sensei's taught him for centering....
"Yes Yes, we tried talk first kill second, but this last one, he could have been a hostage, we asked one question, and left no room for answers. Now we have a network of tunnels, and no knowledge about them." Thom relaxes his posture seeing that the others are not going tontry and attack him.
Sorry for the delay in posting. I've been having issues with the editor on DDB.
Although Brix seems to be out of it mentally, he seems to be physically okay. Taking a closer look at the chamber you notice several clay pots by one of the entrances.
Just want to let you all in on Thom and the direction I want to take him. He is a lawful good (kind of stupid but more so naive of there being another way). My hope is for him to transition to somewhere between CG and CN.
Brix suddenly coughs harshly then suddenly lets out a huge gasp. Looking about he jabbers
"‰_⁸№<²&...×№~8¥°○¿¡{|&đ...."
The wide eyed Gnome jumps to his feet still prattling excitedly.
"*@[$_×*. 2⁸_!!!"
He backs away drawing his dagger. He waves it about in front of himself as he rapidly faces each party member. Taking swipes that have no real chance of hitting anyone.
Soren is taken aback. Possession such as this is anathema to nature. Summoning should happen willingly.
He tries to recall what honorific the kobold dragonshield had given the dragon Almananadrix, and replies to the spirit inside Brix's mind in [Draconic]:
"#$^, Glandin &^&^*& Glandin. % Soren Thornpaw. (*&)( (*&()*&)(%$# Almananadrix &^$%&^$&. (*&^(*^ &*&%(*^ $%)&^$%# &^%*&. ^%? *&^%@#." (At the end Soren gestures towards Garmuk emphatically as if to make a point to the being that has taken over Brix).
"Peace, Glandin of house Glandin. I am Soren Thornpaw. Your loyal servitude to the Almananadrix the Eternal Lifegiver is noted and admirable. If we wished to physically harm you, we easily could and would have done so already. But instead it is your lucky day and we wish to talk. Agreed? So put down that little knife and allow me to translate for my companions before this crazy half-orc barbarian decides to end you with immediate prejudice."
Translating to the group in [Common]: "Somehow, Brix's mind has been inhabited by Glandin of house Glandin, a devotee to the great dragon Almananadrix, whose marrow and bones we may be standing among now. I wonder if the marrow of the great dragon itself is what is causing this invasive psychosis. Be careful of the substance around us. It may have affected all these kobolds here, though kobolds hardly need encouragement to worship a dragon. But I suspect Glandin himself is a spirit from long ago when the dragon actually lived. He speaks of Almananadrix in the present tense. I asked him to put down his weapon so we can talk or Garmuk will smash him. Do NOT smash him yet Garmuk, since we still hope Brix will return to us, but do not allow him to run either."
Just in case Glandin understands Common, Soren says conversationally to Thom, Ursa and anyone that can understand [Elvish]:
"If my efforts at negotiation fail, Thom, I may need you to grapple him and Ursa, you tie him up and gag him. Hopefully the possession of Brix's spirit will eventually pass."

Brix convulses and his eyes roll back exposing the whites.

Not understanding what's going on Garmuk will grab the Kobold and pick it up shaking it violently
RELEASE HIM, I KILL YOU AGAIN
Good idea Garmuk. Keep them coming!
Thredash picks up the tiny tinkerer and gives him a non lethal shake...Brix! Snap out of it! BRIX!
(ooc: helping Brix with the next CON save)
((OOC: Are we out of initiative? I'm assuming yes.))
Soren kneels by Brix, reaching out to nature spirits for Guidance (rolling 1d4 to add to check below).
Medicine check to understand his condition and what the kobold's eyes did to Brix: 9 + 1
Tanis(Ranger1): Shiverquill's Tempest City | Xarian(Fighter2): NioNSwiper's Tyranny of Dragons
Dyson/Eleo(TwilightCleric4): Vos' Beyond the Veil | Soren(ShepherdDruid5): Bartjeebus' Ravenloft | Ophelia(WildMagicSorcerer4): Ashen_Age's Risen from the Sands

Brix is rigid and unmoving and doesn't respond to his companions' efforts to bring him out his trance.
Warned you!
Garmuk kills the Kobold.
That is so strange - Garmuk keeps doing what I'm thinking....So now we search the place, yes?

"That was wrong! This is not the way to get things done. We could have questioned that one." Thom puffs out his chest some, and looks unhappy.

In case Brix's mind has been taken over by a kobold or their dragon master, Soren attempts to talk to the gnome artificer in draconic:
[Draconic]:
"Brix. It's Soren. Can you hear and understand me? Wiggle your fingers if so."
Tanis(Ranger1): Shiverquill's Tempest City | Xarian(Fighter2): NioNSwiper's Tyranny of Dragons
