Soren is a little taken aback at the newcomers and the talk of this clearing (and the constable's harshness). He smiles tentatively at Fenrir and at the new goblin.
"Those of you I've been traveling with won't be surprised to know that I very much want to visit this clearing to find out what is wrong. It is unnatural for creatures of nature to avoid such a place. But should we first look for this Gabe fellow who visited there and has been acting odd since then?"
"Grubfingers the name." And he throws his hand out in an awkward manner as if this is one of his first times shaking hands. "And thank you Ursa for making sure big fella didn't kill me."
Soren introduces himself to Grubfingers and Fenrir modestly, shaking their hand and saying in a quiet voice. "I am Soren Thornpaw, I ah... shepherd wild things. Like the ones that don't go to this clearing apparently. Glad to have your help if you are coming with us. No Garmuk, you know I love your spirit but we fight hostile goblins, or others that attack us, not friendly ones like Grubfingers here. Sounds like we'll have a fight soon enough, though."
Against undead perhaps? He asks the barkeep (or anyone else at the tavern): "What happened to victims who caught this White Death Plague?"
Garmuk will walk over to Grubfingers. Normally Garmuk would wrestle you to get know better. But inn man said no and cold outside so no want kick out. So.... first to blink lose. Staring very hard at Grubfingers, Garmuk never met nice goblin, are many you? Should Garmuk ask if nice before killing? Second question should we beat up law man for info then go to dead trees?

Brix has been listening but only half heartedly. He's been distracted by his tinkering. Spread before him on the table are his notes, some empty flasks, and various alchemy supplies. He spends much of the conversation rattling around the various vials and flasks until he suddenly cries out, "HA! THAT'S IT" A quick check of his notes and he scoops up one of the empty flasks. He places his hands palms together with the flask sandwiched between them. Putting his lips to a small gap he created at the base of his thumbs he starts whispering some arcane words. The flask magically fills with a swirling liquid. He caps the end of the flask with his palm before upending it and righting it quickly. The movement leaves a small amount of liquid on his hand which the Gnome quickly licks away to determine what the newly created elixir is.
Experimental elixir: 3
Looking up from his experimentation he realizes his outburst may have interrupted the discussion about what to do next. Not wanting to be rude he apologizes, "Apologies, I've been working on creating these elixirs and I'm just excited to have created one. Now more to the point I believe our innkeeper friend here was simply using a local colloquialism in reference to the plague simply meaning that people avoid the area with extreme prejudice. I agree we should talk to this "Gabe". We need more knowledge to properly assess this situation."
OCC: Elixir type depends on the roll I'll add a post revealing it since I don't want to affect the roll.
With his thoughts on the situation expressed Brix returns to his notes. Smacking his lips a bit he holds up the flask. "Excellent! A potion of resilience! This should give the consumer aa boost to their ability to handle any blows they receive. Albeit only for a short time"
OCC: Elixir of resilience gives the drinker a +1 to AC for 10 mins.

Grubfingers locks eyes with Garmuk "this is better, I would lose a wrestling match, even vs other goblins. My clan is more than others from what I hear. I don't think asking someone if they are good or bad would really help any situations. Fenrir seems like a downer, i say if we have the opportunity to we beet him up. I'd love to help out. Not meet a whole lot of your kind, are all as crazy as you?" I'm going to roll a wisdom check because Grubfingers would be wise to know he needs to win this. 14
Thom after hearing Grubfingers words "just what we need another kill first ask latter kind of guy." after thinking for a long moment he speaks again "I was once a guard, close to a Constable perhaps I can go talk with him ask him for some info on this clearing."
Garmuk throws his fists up in victory. Garmuk like you too, many new Raid bother today.
Garmuk looks at Thorm and bares his fangs. Fine do you way. But Garmuk ready if you say law man need loose up. Garmuk very persuasive. Garmuk flexes as he says this laughing at his own joke.
Thom was offering to talk with the constable but would go with the group if no one wants him to.
Grubfingers is going to the Orchard. "Garmuk, your not all bad, new raid brother it is." on the inside Grubfingers is mad he lost but happy that the results of losing so bad were not disaster.

Garmuk is so confused why a goblin is speaking common to them and not trying to attack the party.
Garmuk will lean over and whisper very loudly (he thinks he is quite)
Do think goblin kin of the goblin killed months back. Should Garmuk kill Goblin be safe?
Ursa says to Garmuk "No; Mr. Goblin is our friend."
Turning to the goblin, "My name is Ursa Shadowbone. May we have your name?"

I need to know who goes to talk to Constable Roch and who goes to the Orchard to talk with Gabe?
Fenrir would go to the Orchard.
Ursa would also go to the Orchard

Soren will go with those heading for the orchard to talk with Gabe.
Partly because he is curious about what an orchard is. Nature's wildness ordered and contained?

Ooc: should we do one before the other? Garmuk will go to the constable with throm but it might not end well lol... that sounds fun
((OOC: I always lean towards keeping the party together when in unknown/dangerous situations, so my vote would be staying together.))
