Some of you notice that not only does Gabe seem to be unwell physically, but there is also something troubling him mentally.

Ursa notices Gabe and asks him "My friend, you appear to be un well. What's troubling you? Perhaps one of our healers can help you?"

Gabe admits he went to the arch at the lifeless clearing and spent the night there on a dare; he’d done it a year ago and nothing happened, but this time, he had awful nightmares, and he hasn’t slept well since then.

Soren approaches.  "Hello Gabe.  I am a simple druid of the woodland beasts, but I do have some healing magic.  May I?"

If Gabe and his parents allow, Soren attempts to inspect him for physical or mental disease that might be curable either through healing or Lesser Restoration which Soren can cast if needed (but does not want to waste if he thinks it will have no effect).  He would welcome any help on the Medicine check from anyone in the party that knows healing, maybe Fenrir the paladin or Olin the ranger.  Reaching out to the spirits of nature, so interestingly ordered in the fruit orchard outside, for Guidance:

Soren's Medicine check plus Guidance to determine whether Lesser Restoration or healing might help Gabe:  17 + 4 

(Soren) To your trained eye it is clear that Gabe is suffering from exhaustion, sadly you realize that Lesser Restoration will not help his condition. Perhaps investigating the clearing could provide an answer to the young man's condition.

Soren looks at Gabe and his parents sadly.  "I do not think it is within my power to cure him from the lasting exhaustion he is experiencing."

Speaking to Gabe directly:  "Can you tell us anything you remember from the clearing?  And about the dreams you have had since?  I think my friends and I may have to explore it ourselves, but anything you can tell us might help."

Brix makes eye contact with Sorens and gives the druid a look of affirmation in his line of questioning. 

He moves to position himself next to Sorens but slightly obscured behind his right side.

OCC: Brix gives the help action to Sorens next Dice check.

Fenrir, seeing others come to the boys aid will remain back. But, he will use his Devine Sense and detect good and evil. I can sense anything affected by the hallow spell or know the location of any celestial, fiend, undead.

Eva becomes visibly upset when Gabe confesses his trips to the Clearing and begins to berate the Youth. This causes Gabe to hunch his shoulders and look down at the cottage floor and mumble an apology.

Grubfingers "Mother Eva, I would like to say he might have information that could be helpful to us, we are looking into this clearing."

(Fenrir) You sense no evil.

It soon becomes apparent that Gabe will not expound further on his experience at the Clearing, while his mother continues berate him for breaking a Family Taboo. So, a couple of you attempt to calm the distraught mother. While the others lead Gabe outside and attempt to get more information from the adolescent.

Hoping Soren's 24 on Persuasion above in post 857 (natural 20 + 1 + 3 from Guidance) helps coax some info out of Gabe?
