"Mmmmn~ Perhaps in another time line. Although I think in that one I was a paladin or a cleric, so she wasn't too worried in particular about getting sick."Obsben commented offhandedly. She dutifully went back to taking notes once more for a brief few moments, but then paused to look through Salty Bottom's eyes and make sure Spernik hadn't gotten up to any trouble.
As soon as she was self assured there, it is back to her own space to stand by patiently at least fifteen feet away from the new door, waiting for the party to open it too and see what lay beyond it.

"It is quite fascinating to even have a glimpse of something that the world seems to have forgotten." Neya says. "Perhaps after we've cleared the dangers and have returned to town, we could inform the Lord Sage and so he could arrange a more academic expedition."

The group slowly makes its way through the kitchen, looking about to see if they can collect any more clues about this place. Obsben takes copious notes and sketches, but still finds a few second to peek through Salty Botttom's eyes. She finds that the familiar is not necessarily keeping a close eye on Spernik, but she can hear the man continue to squirm while bound and gagged.
While Neya builds on the previous topic of taking information back to the Lord Sage, Graxx puts his ears to the door on the far wall of this kitchen area. As was the case with most of the other areas in this temple before their residents were disturbed, all that the warrior can hear is an eerie silence.
Utar looks about the room and finds nothing more worthy of a closer examination than the wet patches on the ground. He looks at the walls and ceiling and confirms that this wetness is nowhere else. Kneeling close to one of the puddles, the cleric leans even closer as if hoping to catch a sniff of whatever this substance is. Without warning, Utar feels two sharp stings into his brain.

Although the mental attack comes as a surprise, Utar manages to block his mind to the worst of it. (Utar takes 11 psychic damage.)
Everyone suddenly notices as an enormous patch of wetness appears on the relatively low ceiling. You are certain it was not there a moment ago but it now looks like the most clear threat in here.
(OOC: This was a surprise round. Neya's Alert feat prevents her from being surprised, so she can take a turn right away. Meanwhile, everyone (including Neya) should roll their own initiative for this fight.)
As the rest of the party takes an extra second to get out of their investigative stance and into a fighting mentality again, Neya sends her last seeker dart to identify her enemy with certainty. She watches as the dart defies gravity and sinks itself straight into the large puddle on the ceiling. (Enormous Puddle takes 12 magical piercing and lightning damage.)
After the impact, the metal dart immediately but only gradually begins to dissolve away inside the not-so-common patch of wetness.
"Well this is a bit unexpected. But luckily I have a solution."Obsben immediately whips out a pepper and takes a BITE out of it! "Oooooh! Spimy!"She spoke around the veggie. Yet with a determined look about her face, she kept on chewing and uttering the remaining incantation between bites until her breath turned cold. Then against what she felt to be her less than better judgement, Obby rushed into the room, angled her head a little ways off the ground, and exhaled a chilling white mist over the strange puddles, hoping to freeze them solid.
Though regardless of any successes there, discretion was the better part of valor after all! So soon after, she's bustling her way back past the door.
Action: Exhale Dragon Breath on all three puddles(angled 5ft upward just enough to catch all three within the cone). Dex Save(DC 16) to take half of 12 Cold Damage.
Movement: To BD-9.

Raising himself from the puddles on the floor, Utar mentally adds suspicious puddles to a list of things that has tried to kill him since coming to Phlan. "Hmmm. Three of them; it's good to have friends."
Touching his pauldron, he begins his own chant, casting spirit guardians. "Abet, Ilim, Burga." Utar nods a greeting to each in turn. "Let's get to work."
DC16 Wisdom check on the puddles on their turn. 11 radiant damage for the puddles on a fail, half damage on a success.
Seeing the dart dissolve as a sign she probably should not touch the large puddle, Neya quickly backs away (1 ki point for Step of the Wind to BC-12).
She then fires a couple of arrows from her Splashbow, mainly for the enhanced magical damage, but also to test if the bow's secondary effect could also injure it. Though she has no illusions it would.
Neya takes a precautionary action and puts some distance between her and the enemies. Reaching for her bow, she releases two arrows with no hope of retrieving them after battle. Both projectiles hit and splash into their own corrosive substance. To Neya's surprise, she hears the sizzle of different acidic compounds fighting for dominance, at least to some degree. The arrows are then promptly dissolved. (Enormous Puddle takes 21 magical piercing and acid damage.)
Utar figures this is a good time to increase CRAP's numbers and summons Abet, Ilim, and Burga. All three spirits get ready to attack.
Obsben bites on a snack and soon spews the resulting magical effect. Although the spray catches all puddles, it soon becomes even more obvious that they are not made of mundane water. The freezing effect seems weaker than expected. (Enormous Puddle takes 6 cold damage; Small Puddle#1 takes 6 cold damage; Small Puddle#2 takes 6 cold damage.)
Graxx drops a weapon and arms himself with another. He then pokes the nearest puddle twice. The damage lands as if the puddle was made of solid flesh, and the barbarian's weapon does not look any worse for wear. In fact, after the second hit, this small puddle completely liquefies and seeps through the floor lacking any sign of life. (Small Puddle#1 takes 35 magical piercing damage and is DEFEATED.)
As the remaining puddles begin to wind up their own attacks, Abet smashes the smaller one with his spectral greatclub while Ilim launches a gout of spiritual lightning at the larger one. (Enormous Puddle takes 11 radiant damage; Small Puddle#2 takes 5 radiant damage.)
The Enormous Puddle on the ceiling then drops to the ground and rises as if it was a mid-bake cake. Two pseudopods shoot out of the creature, one aimed at Utar, the other at Obsben. The smaller puddle mimics the gesture, also aiming at Utar.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Utar is somewhat surprised as the larger of the two pseudopods coming at him completely misses its mark. The moment of surprise is enough for the smaller one to hit the Tormite's metal greaves with its attack. There's not enough power behind the blow to actually hurt Utar, but the metal protecting his shin immediately starts sizzling.
-> Utar's plate armor receives a -1 penalty to its AC bonus, which is now 17. Utar's AC is now 19.
Edit:
Obsben is struck right in the center of her torso, and the instantly knocks the wind out of her. She barely even notices that the metal studs on her own armor begin to come apart. (Obsben takes 41 acid damage.)
-> Obsben's studded leather armor receives a -1 penalty to its AC bonus, which is now 11. Obsben's AC is now 13.
-> Obsben's concentration check {DC 20}: 3 (4). If the roll fails, Dragon's Breath drops.
Obsben is saved from a corrosive blast by her last-minute shielding reaction. Her armor is also spared by the temporary sheet of magical defense.
