Despite being on the edge of falling unconscious, Neya does not back down. Able to clearly see Skovac with her own eyes now, she forges forward and lays a flurry of strikes on the Scalebinder. The first attack cracks his armor, the second breaks through it. Neya delivers a third, fatal blow through Skovac's wooden breastplate and then a final blow for good measure. The moment Obsben felt the unnatural chill wash over her a sharp motion of the hand erects another weak but dampening barrier about her to absorb and even contain some of the energy about her. Noting the cloud being wiped away as well, Obby immediately tried scanning her surroundings in half-expectation of being suddenly surrounded by more undead!
But soon as her eyes laid upon undead druid, she has just enough time to get out, "That was most certainly not very chill of you, Skuzzy", just prior to Neya laying down the final smack down, startling even Obsben a little from its suddenness. With an inward curse despite the greater threat being finally put down, the halfling immediately turned to Utar. "Alright, alright. Nap times over, Tusky. Wakey, wakey, egg-foo-toast and bakey!"She encouraged, lacing her words with a bit of magic.
Then while Utar is still stirring, she turns on the last skelleton standing and points, "As for you, buster. We both know you don't really have the guts to keep fighting. So quit being a numskull, drop that weapon, 'C' your way to kelemvors doors 'fore my friends hit you with some real rib ticklers!"

As the cold wind passes and the stink cloud lifts, Obsben is pleasantly surprised by what she sees relative to what she had expected. There are only two undead left standing and, despite Neya's critical condition, only Utar is unconscious. In fact, even in her condition, Neya moves forth to then reduce the number of undead still standing to only one, so the overall situation seem to be improving by the second. Obsben thinks she can help move things along on both ends. She starts by making sure that Utar can open his eyes again. (Utar recovers 6 HP.)
The story-weaver of a halfing then viciously mocks the last skeleton standing. The simple undead creature cannot cope with it, an additional crack showing on its cranium. (Skeleton#3 takes 8 psychic damage.)
Still worried about his friend, Graxx drops his fighting stance for a moment and comes to Utar's aid. The paladin of Tempus soothes the still prone cleric of Torm. (Utar recovers 10 HP.)
Feeling much better than he had for the last 30 or so seconds, Utar is finally able to stand on his own two legs. Taking note of the need to put an end to this battle, the half-orc points his weapon at the last enemy and pulverizes it with radiant light. (Skeleton#3 takes 17 radiant damage and is DEFEATED.)

Leaning against a comfortable looking wall, at this point, they all look comfortable to the half-orc, he looks to the other CRAPpers his voice faltering a little as he speaks.
"We...we all whole? Anyone mind if I just...have...a little breather?"
Sliding down the cold stone of the wall, Utar gets himself sort of comfortable and begins to chant his thanks to Torm. Each member of CRAP (within 30ft) feels uplifted and restored, gaining 33 hp.

Seeing Utar at least alive, if albeit a bit out of sorts, Obsben's attention gaze immediately shifted towards the scale. She then looks to the ring on her finger, considering it for a just a moment, before with a frown, shook her head."Uhh, sure Utar. You do you.", She replied to the half-orc, prior to then maneuvering her way over all the bodies to examine Skovac more closely... and maybe rifle through his armor.
Though she held few expectations of finding much of interest, seeing as the un-dead hardly wanted for much, the distraction of the search was important. If she spies anyone going for the scale, she'd pause long to go, "Ah-bu-but! No touchy. At least not yet. Don't want anyone to get burned all of a sudden, or worse yet, if there was something to the claims of that being Tiamat's scale, who knows what sort of corrupting influence it might have on a person."
Apart from that warning(if warranted) and the search(collecting the interesting or seeming important), she'd spend the next few minutes of waiting for Utar's impromptu meditation beginning the process of taking notes of the new room.
Graxx breathes a little easier as he looks around the room and sees everyone alive. Barely alive. But alive.
"Whew... I couldn't see so I didn't realize how rough it was getting on everyone. That magic poison was a good strategy on ol' Skovac's part." says Graxx.
Graxx sets his eyes on the Scale and begins to approach with his eyes glistening in desire but he stops at Obsben's words with his hand outstretched towards the large shield shaped object.

Pretty soon after the fight comes to an end, CRAP exchanges a few words in order to come to an agreement on what to do next. Although some initial intentions have to be deferred for a bit, the party agrees that there should be time for all of it.
While Utar cleanses the fallen undead with holy fire, Obsben begins to poke around Skovac's armor. The first thing she realizes is that the petrified wood has fused itself with the undead flesh beneath it. It would be quite an astronomical task to efficiently detach the two, and it might simply not be worth it. Obsben evaluates the strange but robust set of armor is no more effective than what Utar already wears. Letting her hands poke around a bit more, the halfling finds a few trinkets that could be put to better use. She scoops out not one but two spell scrolls, though she can read only one of them: Flame Arrows.
(OOC: The second scroll is for a spell no one in the party can cast, but I can tell you which spell it is for if anyone succeeds on an arcana check {DC 15}, in case it helps you decide what to do with it later.)
Obsben also plucks a necklace of red gold with a small red dragon scale engraved with a rune meaning "Fire" in Draconic. The necklace does not feel magical to the touch, but the wizard guesses the piece of jewelry might fetch a good price (500gp).
Graxx waves his wand of secrets and confirms that there are no secret passages or mechanical traps in this room and/or altar. Turning his attention to the runes on the scale, he recruits Neya's help in deciphering them. The runes are in the Draconic language and spell out the word "Scorcher". There is a magical essence to them.
By now, Utar has already started his Prayer of Healing. The party members find themselves calmed and soothed over the next ten or so minutes. (Everyone recovers 26 HP.)
In the wake of her curiosity being satisfied(or mollified in the attempt), Obsben approaches Neya offering both the scrolls and necklace. "For safe keeping, if nothing else, until we're back in town. Although-..."She winces and looks off to the side. "... Mn. Yes. About Five Hundred Dragons worth, but more clout from the Sage could be well worth it." She said frankly, before turning back to the others with her usual look of nonchalance.

Might be best to just to tell'em the guardian of this place destroyed or 'removed' it. Ya know, on the off chance he slips away and tells his superiors about all that happened." She suggests as much, before setting her focus with earnest on studying and recording any and everything else about the room to give the sage later.

Knowing that he doesn't have the luxury of time right now, Utar compartmentalises his uneasy feeling at being powerless to help his friends once again and knows he has to push on. "Skovac was a druid, right? Makes sense that he'd maybe have something in that vein, no? Also, definitely see if any kind of dark magic is at play on the scale before we take it."
Looking back towards the large door, he starts walking towards it, calling back over his shoulder, "Best one of us go and check on Spernik. I'll wait with him until one of you calls us back into the room. Otherwise, I'll see you on the way out."

As Obsben spares a minute to study the illegible scroll, Utar's deduction seems to hit it on the nose. The second scroll is for a spell only those closely attune to natural magics can perform: Flame Blade. Perhaps CRAP could gift it to a friendly druid, sell it for cash, or donate it to the Lord Sage as part of the earlier agreement. Obby seems to think that this "exchange for clout" deal could also be applied to the necklace.
Before the group can decide on their next step regarding the scale, Utar remembers they have a prisoner who needs to be checked on. He finds the man struggling on the ground, failing miserably to escape his rope-prison. Salty Bottom watches his attempts with amusement on his face.
Graxx and Obsben reach an agreement and the human warrior reaches for the scale. It is at the moment that Graxx feels... nothing more than a faint tingling of magic on his hands. He removes the relic from its base and holds it while Obsben offers to slowly examine it. The relic is a huge, flawless scale from an ancient dragon. It is nearly three feet wide and engraved with runes that spell "Scorcher" in Draconic. It is also inlaid with silver, gold, and platinum. Obsben is eventually able to share with those in the chamber that the scale's bearer gains the ability to cast a scorching spell once a day (requires attunement). Perhaps more interestingly, the relic radiates powerful abjuration and illusion magic, but it seems to posses no actual magical properties related to those schools of magic as far as she can tell.
"Hm... Curiouser and Curioser."Obsben commented at the end of her ritual. After taking a moment to studying the item a little longer, she seemed to startle a little in remembering of watching eyes, and with some curious hesitance at first, ultimately details her findings to those yet around. "Might make for a good shield with some proper adjustments given it size. And mayhap with attunement, it'll do just that... But I will say that the illusion and abjuration magic on it is quite... troubling. So, I wouldn't recommend doing the 'thing', but... could be a sign that this item is one of the vewy, vewy, VEWY ware... *ahem*... Rare 'evolving' variety. Or, hmm..."
She slides a finger along its surface and ponders a moment more. "If this is really one of 'her' scales, that could also place it more firmly into the artifact category, if not legendary. And those little numbers tend to be far more resistant to the sort of 'minor' divination magic I... possess...."Obsben admits absently before trailing off a bit in thought.
"..... Anyways, it probably won't fit in your bag, so might as well meld with it and see if anything else comes up, eh?"She suggests, offering the scale back up to Graxx with a smile. "In the meantime, I think I'll get back to studying this room. But if you two don't mind tending to the dead with Utar once he's ready, I'd certainly appreciate it."

And those little numbers tend to be far more resistant to the sort of 'minor' divination magic I... possess...." Obsben admits absently before trailing off a bit in thought.
"..... Anyways, it probably won't fit in your bag, so might as well meld with it and see if anything else comes up, eh?" She suggests, offering the scale back up to Graxx with a smile. "In the meantime, I think I'll get back to studying this room. But if you two don't mind tending to the dead with Utar once he's ready, I'd certainly appreciate it."
