Checking the chest, there is no lock on it. There is a hook for putting a padlock, but it appears to be missing said locking mechanism. Carefully flicking the lid with the shortsword, the interior seems to be bare save for two disks of gold with a face upon them. They look around the right size to place on the top and bottom of the chalice.
(For those who worship Pelor, one of his symbols is a face on a sunburst, so it seems appropriate.)
Thea carefully approaches the chest. Sudden flashbacks of the weird cube attacking her make her hesitate for a second, but she will reach out for the disks to configure them at the concerning spots at the chalice.
"It appears we have our key fully assembled. Shall we go try it at the door where we killed the cube?"Liavyre says with some urgency, since she knows they will have to go through the spider room again and also generally just wanting to be in the forest again, even if it is a dangerous one.

The two faces slip onto the top and bottom of the chalice snugly. The piece that covers the top of the chalice helps keep to two crossbar pieces attached; it looks completed.
The group heads back through the room, apparently no traps or tests this time for some reason. Returning to the door, it looks like the chalice will fit into the gap perfectly now...
Upon placing the chalice into the slot within the door, there is a bright golden glow, like that of sunlight, as the chalice seems to meld into the shape, becoming flatter before turning in the door, unlocking it. The chalice clatters to the ground, now in its new form, which looks familiar to a blade hilt.
The door begins to rumble, as an sea blue glow flickers from beyond the doorway...
Fjorgin swoops up the chalice and assumes a defensive posture.

As the doors open wider the glow fades as within appears to be a room around 20 feet from end to end. At the centre of the room is what appears to be a golden shrine, with what appears to be a silver cubic container placed upon it. In front of this appears to be a person.
(@Lerus17, if you would like to introduce yourself.)
You see a bright-red-skinned man with horns jotting out straight up from where his eyebrows would be placed. He is of average height, about 5'10" including the horns, and his slick, long deep-purple (almost black) hair reaches his shoulder plates. Sideburns and a small goatee adorn his angular face, and eyes the same color of his hair look intently at the cube, before turning to his new visitors. He mimics cleaning his palms on his leather jerkin and says: "Welcome to my humble abode. I thank you for your visit but you'll have to excuse me. I am fairly busy, you see. Please, feel free to entertain yourselves elsewhere in the temple", gesturing to the silvery cube and then back at the visitors as if to tell them to gently leave. He then turns once again to the cube and begins to study it, trying to figure out how to take it safely.
"What fiend are you, and how have you desecrated this holy place?" Fjorgin shouts, ready to attack.

Sensing hostility, he will cast Blade Ward as quietly as he can, in order to build his defenses up a bit just in case.
Liavyre and Fjorgin would recognize the last two spoken words:
"Ha, your petty wards will do nothing to protect you from Pelor's wrath!" Fjorgin raises his hand to strike, forgetting that all he is carrying is the chalice.

“There is no need for violence. I’ll simply pick up my things and be on my way” he grabs the silver container and prepares to leave, through a different door if available and refreshing Blade Ward as needed.
"Let us proceed with care, i doubt it would be that easy."
Arcana: 24
Stepping through, the corridor ahead seems completely cleared of anything; no signs of traps or devices, and just the dimly illuminated chest ahead.
Satisfied that nothing nefarious is waiting, Liavyre will inspect the chest. Is it locked?
If it's not locked she will take out a short sword and attempt to lift open the lid.
If one of Pelor's followers wishes to open it, she will defer to them.

Thea nods in agreement and readies herself. "Very well. Here we go!" She lifts up the chalice and fits it into the whole in the door.

Liavyre lowers her arrow (keeps it notched) and says, "Hold. We have been through a lot and tensions are high. Perhaps we can reason together?"
She is not much for diplomacy other than towards forest creatures and looks towards Thea to bring stability to the situation.
