"What's that?" Pip nods at the silver box on the ground. "Some sort of trap when I get close, or maybe you're stealing from the chapel? I'm on to you demon!"
(Just so the others know, Pip can be heard from inside...
Fjorgin reluctantly steps up, almost hoping for an excuse to kill Ekmong. "We have the situation under control. Stand down, everyone. This fiend claims not to be one, and for some reason the others trust him."

Thea will try and stuff as many artefacts into her pack as possible before she hears the argument going on outside. She follows Fjorgin outside to see how much of the situation she can deescalate. "Stop it, come one! Pip, we ran into him while retriving the item."She points at the silver container. "Apparantly, thats what we were send out to get. We dont know about his intentions, but he didnt outright assault us and for now hes willing to coorparate. You might not have realized it, but the protective auro that was warding this place is gone. Meaning that that weird Hound we saw earlier probably wont take long to get here, so lets try and surivive this first. I won't mind unexpected reinforcements to buff up our numbers, but we should leave soon."

(He's just about within 30 feet, we'll say. Let's see if Pip's gonna fall for the tiefling)
Pip's Wisdom Saving Throw:17
(Wow, he really is stubborn against Ekmong. Also, Daejor get back to Eberron!)
Pip seems slightly confused as Fjorgin steps out and doesn't immediately slice off Ekmong's head. "Wait..." He says, raising the bow back at Ekmong. "He tried to mess with my head just then." He gasps. "Fjorgin, snap out of it! He's put you under a spell!"
(I'm surprised Fjorgin didn't use Divine Sense to see if Ekmong's claim that he isn't a fiend was true or not.)
Pip warily begins to advance towards Ekmong and Fjorgin. "Are you okay, Fjorgin?" He asks, not letting his eyes leave their mark for a second. (he's about 15 feet away, bow still up and drawn)
Fjorgin walks up towards Pip, making sure Pip always has a line of sight on Ekmong, but remaining in a position where he can close that line of sight quickly. "I'm not sure okay is the right word for it, but I am alive and I am under no spell. Although the spell that protected this place is indeed waning. All sorts of beings may be on their way as we speak." Fjorgin uses Divine Sense to sense any approaching threats.

Fjorgin casts his Divine Sense; there appears to be no fiends, fey, celestials, or undead within the vicinity of 60 feet (which includes Ekmong). He does however, feel that the sanctified area is indeed becoming less and less. It won't be long until it is perhaps to become desecrated like beyond the grove.
"Well, if you say so." Pip says, lowing his bow slightly, but still not taking his eyes off of Ekmong. "We should get going if that is what The Luminary was after, before it attracts and fiends to our position."
(Sorry for not posting. Been very unwell this past week and trying to get back into posting.)
"I'm glad you have lowered your bow, brave one" Ekmong says to Pip, standing back up and grabbing the silver container once again. "Now, care to explain what is this desolate place we are in? What happened here?"
The container is fairly heavy, but mostly bulky. It is around two feet in each dimension, meaning it would not slip into a backpack, and why it requires two hands to carry.
"What do you mean, what happened?" Pip says, obviously still not trusting Ekmong. "This is one of the last nice places left before your lot destroyed everything, demon." He looks to Fjorgin. "Is there any reason we haven't bound this thing up yet?"
In answer to Pip's question, Fjorgin shrugs. "The others seemed keen not to."

Pip keeps his bow in hand, but the arrow no longer notched. "Fine... Let's just get back to Allhaven before the bigger beasts descend on us."
The group follows Pip away from the lush grove and out into sparse dead forestland, where he carefully leads the group along and back the way we came. He stops after about ten minutes of walking, pointing to something in the cracked earth. "These weren't here on our way in." He says. It looks like some breaks in the ground; like something large and sharp stabbed into the ground in clumps of four. "Devils most likely; scary ones at that..."

Fjorgin examines the tracks for any clues as to what they came from. "Alright everyone, stay calm! We just need to get back to the safety of Pelor's protection, and we will deal with any fiends we find along the way as we must. Pelor is telling us through this track that we must be always wary of our enemies." Fjorgin stares momentarily at Ekmong after saying this.

Pip's Wisdom Saving Throw: 21 (advantage vs. fear, go halfling!)
"You don't scare me, demon!" Pip calls out, keeping his bow trained on the demon. "What happened to my companions, monster?"
"The religious nuts, I assume? They are inside. C'mon, I'm no threat. Drop your bow!"
Could I get a Persuasion check with disadvantage? You're changing tactics very quickly from trying to intimidate him.

Ekmong will also place the silver container on the ground, slowly, and right by his feet.

(Did she manage to save any of the relics before leaving?)
