Nivi unsentimentally begins searching the Sahuagin corpses on deck, driving a dagger through the eye of any that aren't quite dead.

She acknowledges Brand's look and gives him an impish grin as if to say Can't kill us that easy.

"Everyone make it?  No one wanted to be shark bait this time, I guess.  Like fire boy here asked... this happen often, Captain?"

She uses her Mage Hand to make a pile of weapons and any other items harvested from the enemy.

"If you're looking for the captain, he's still in his quarters." The dwarf girl says, "And it was just a scouting party, nothing too bad to deal with. Crew! Get moving! Get these bodies off the ship!" She shouts to the remaining crew on the deck. They start to throw the carcasses overboard.

Brand shrugs and goes back to bed.

Nivi doesn't have much more before she heads back to her cabin.

But as she's helping the crew throw the Sahuagin corpses over, she does try to make small talk.  She only asks these questions if she doesn't already know the answer (for example, if it's obvious even to a layman that we're in the deep ocean, she doesn't ask the second question).

"What kind of other baddies do you usually see out here in this region?  Just trying to get a feel for what might have taken over The Emperor of the Waves.  And how deep are these waters?  If what we're looking for on The Emperor falls overboard and doesn't float, is it pretty much gone for good?"

"You've met them, we're going through their territory. But the ship you are going for is unclaimed waters, anything can be in them. And we ain't in some lake, y'all would drown before even reaching the deep part of the ocean." Answers Hilda.

(Advancing)

The next couple of days return to its quiet pace, until a sailor comes to ask for you all to come to the top deck. Up top, you see a hulk of a derelict ship list about in the waters. You can see all its masts have been shorn off, but the upper deck appears clear of debris, as if whatever hit the ship was strong enough to carry off the masts, sails, and rigging. Its figurehead appears to be formerly an angel of sorts, mauled and disfigured now.

"There be your ship, its a miracle that it's still floating."

Nivi tries to peer at The Emperor of the Waves to discern whether there is any movement visible on deck of the derelict ship, but the wind keeps whipping her hair into her eyes and she curses under her breath in Elvish.  Perception:  9

She turns to the crew of, The Soul of Winter, or to Captain Wolgar Windrune if he is there.  "You've done half your job getting us here, Captain and crew, and we appreciate it.  We're counting on you to still be here when we return from that wreck.  Are you ferrying us there?"

"And what should we use to signal you to come pick us up?  Here's my signal."

Nivi casts the Shape Water cantrip to make the ocean water flow into the air in the pattern of the number 6 (for the 6 adventurers) off to the starboard side of The Soul of Winter.  "If you see that, we're ready to come back.  But in case I'm out of commission, others should have a signal too."

To everyone except Davak, who does not need it, she reminds them:  "Should drink our antitoxin just before we get on that rotting hulk.  Who knows what's on that thing.  I couldn't see anything moving on deck, but I can't seem to get a good look, the way the vessel is listing."

Davak tries to get a look at what might be on the other ship.

Dobin also looks.

Najax drinks the antitoxin. He throws away the vial and growls.

"Agh… It tastes like Iodine! They should add more alcohol and sugar in it! " 

The Dragonborn stares at the poor looking ship, licking his lips.

" Something smashed the ship must be huge. Good. Very Good. It will be fun to strike them with my sword."

Perception: 19

Dobin is ready to board the other ship

Brand gets up. Meets the others. And is ready to head to the other boat. His antivenom in pocket ready to take before boarding.

(Sorry for the impromptu hiatus but I am back now.)

Even with straining their eyes, the party sees nothing moving about on the ship.

"Some of my crew shall take you all out there on a rowboat. They'll be ones to take you back as well. My ship is going to keep its distance as some creature seems to have been the one that attacked your ship. And I ain't going to risk pissing it off with another ship entering its territory."

“Sounds good. We’re ready”

Davak nods in agreement. "Aye, let's get on with it."

Nivi boards the rowboat, ready to take her antitoxin as they approach the Emperor of the Waves.

"You think it was a creature that attacked the ship?  What kind of creature?  Hoping it doesn't attack the rowboat or we're proper cooked."

Absently, she uses the Shape Water once the underway to ease the water current forward in front of the rowboat, helping things along.
