The crew lets down the rowboat, joined by two sailors. The sailors row you all out towards the ship, easier to see that it has been bashed about like a bear attacked a carriage. The algae slick hull looms before you as the sailors take out a few grappling hooks,
"We'll row away after you all head up but we'll be close by to take you all back."
Nivi eyes the ropes and the grappling hooks, along with the algae-slick planks of the ghost ship. Could be a tough climb.
If the sailors don't do it themselves, she ties off a rope to a grappling hook. "One of you bigger fellas more skilled at Athletics want to throw these and hoist yourselves up there onto the deck first on the rope so you can help the rest of us up if we need it?"
Brand gets into the rowboat quietly, he is rather nervous - he's not a great swimmer - but he daydreams a bit, remembering his home and its cosy warmth. On arriving that their destination he simply says "I have rope if anyone needs it". He then take a moment to chug his antitoxin and casts Mage Armor on himself. He waits for the rope to be secure so he can attempt to climb it.

Davak tosses the hook up and latches onto the rail of the ship. With a good tug, the hook pries itself deeper into the wood, securing itself. With the grappling hook on, its an easy climb. The Emperor’s upper decks slope gently down toward the ship’s port side. The forecastle and quarterdeck are empty, and short wooden stumps are all that remain of the ship’s masts. The double doors leading to cabins fore and aft appear intact, as does the metal grate in the deck that offers access to the lower decks. Aside from the rhythmic creak of the ship’s badly weathered timbers, all seems quiet.
Nivi quaffs her antitoxin just before shimmying up the rope which Davak secured. "Nicely thrown," she murmurs, polite for once.
Once aboard The Emperor of the Waves, she immediately looks around for hidden threats. Perception: 10
Yet again, the wind whips her hair into her eyes and she curses under her breath, tying it back tighter. Instead, she searches for traces of inhabitants aboard. Footsteps in the muck or dust and so on. Also if it looks as if the masts were felled by weather or by something else. Investigation: 23
"No way that grate is how the crew were meant to make their way between decks. Got to be other ways down as well."
"Bloodstains on the deck," Nivi observes, conversationally. As if it is the most natural thing, like butter on bread.
She moves with Dobin's, flanking him 10' laterally, taking the hide action as a bonus action (Cunning Action), off to the side, out of sight from whatever is beyond the door. With her action, she summons her invisibleMage Hand but sees that Dobin is already opening the door.
(Will be at a disadvantage due to distance and not able to fully inspect without going into the room. And cannot tell for any hidden as you do not have full view of the room)
At most, Nivi can mostly see various piles of debris and garbage about the room. surrounding the altar. Its rough appearance makes it hard to discern what kind of altar it is at a distance.
Strange markings cover the altar's surface, dried mud cakes the floor around it, and humanoid skulls ring the wall above, each mounted on a wooden spike. The corners of this room are piled with garbage and debris — crudely cut wooden logs, smashed furniture, torn sacks, shattered crates, and small piles of dried palm fronds. A staircase descends from the southeast corner, and an acrid odor fills the air. Webs litter about the room, almost a canopy of white above you, holes and pockets about the silken thread.

Dobin boards as well with his panther

@Nivi
" Something that is big and can breathe under the water… just like me"
Najax boards the rowboat without hesitation. He is even humming with anticipation.
Nivi smiles at Najax, with what actually seems like it might be genuine affection for once from the sociopathic rogue. She winks and deadpans.
"Well that settles it. If Aubreck's precious box is down in the cargo hold as he said and maybe waterlogged, we know who's diving in to retrieve it."
Actually, probably exactly what we should do if it comes to it, she thinks.

"Agreed" Dobin says and walks over to the door to see if it is unlocked and then opens the door.

The door creaks open and inside you see A rough stone altar dominates this cabin.
Nivi peeks into the room, not entering yet. "An altar on a vessel meant for commerce? Makes as much sense as nipples on a breastplate."
Remaining outside, she takes a look at the stone altar, trying to determine whether she can tell which deity it is dedicated to. Religion: 19
Also from outside the door, Nivi looks around carefully for any potential hidden enemies or hazards. Perception: 25 (natural 20)
