Peals of thunder and flashes of lightning echo in from outside the open doors, and the horses ears perk up with skittishness at the new threat. Ali though is quick to calm them again though as she strokes their necks and gives each a little grain.
It doesnt look like you all are going anywhere any time soon.
"Oh, hang on. I might have an idea. I just remembered a ritual that lets me open doors. The problem is, it's a very personal thing. Between me and Amaril, you know. If everybody could just kindly avert their eyes for a bit, I might be able to get through."
Assuming everyone looks away, Kiana starts to chant. All the torches in the room start to flicker and the ground starts to rumble. Her chants slowly get more and more loud, louder than you would think she would be capable of, and if anybody does look at her (they better not), they would see her eyes shining a bright golden hue.
Then she takes out her dagger and tries to pick the lock.
Dexterity (Sleight of Hand): 12 (or 10 if it's just straight Dexterity) Gonna burn a luck point! Dexterity (Sleight of Hand): NAT 20 (for a total of 24, or 22 if it's just straight Dexterity) Wow, glad I decided to do that.

The group congregates at the far end of the room, away from the guards, drivers, and Ali and the wagons, and awaits the results of Kiana's sacred ritual. As Kasimyr moves to join the others one of the guards takes a torch from the wagon and lights it from the spare currently on the sarcophagus halfway into the room before returning to her spot closer to the others and the south doors.
As the chanting stops, the rumbling dies down, and her eyes return to normal, Kiana says that all are free to look now. She walks up to the lock and gives it a tug. It does not open.
"What? Oh, dammit- I'm already spent. Only so much you can do in a day, you know, and healing isn't as easy as it looks. I just wish I could have realized that before I went through the whole ritual. It looks like I'm not going to be a whole lot of help for a while. Anybody else got any ideas?"

As the parties attention focuses on the locked door the drivers and guards begin unshackling the horses from the wagons. Ali continues feeding them, brushing them down, and whispering something that none of the rest of you can hear from across the room.
While the locking mechanism is bigger than what you'd find in a more normal size door, it doesnt take long to figure out that, even if you get the point in, just you just dont a great way to manipulate the pins inside.
"So I guess that's a no to the question of whether anyone has seen any nomads or other travelers recently?"
"Colm and I have seen a few other merchants, and a couple of people local to this area moving between towns. Not many people travel these roads. Why do you ask?"

Kasimyr decided there really just wasnt any way to avoid the myriad of bones and bone fragments littering the floor of the large room, and so at some point he just stopped trying, Rhythmically tapping his dagger on the wall with one hand while he held a torch in the other, he slowly began his way around the room, peering into the tiny niches of bone that lined both side walls, and looking for anything that might catch his attention.
As he passed the other guards and drivers they looked at him with nervous apprehension, their hands resting on their swords as they continued to huddle as close to the front doors as they dared.
He passed Ali where she stood and slowly started his way around the other half of the room...

A note of excitement cannot be disguised in Brade’s response:
“Oh, just part of my mission to uh, patrol the area. These locals, do you recall when you saw them? How many were there? Can you describe any of them? Did you talk to them? Did you catch any names?”
Over the next few minutes Kiana and the others exchange notes with Brade, but it is mostly what he has already come to understand. A few roads, spurring off from the main road east from the capitol (presumably) ending at Grimhaven, with villages ranging from a couple of families to a couple hundred spread out within a couple of days walk between them.
The only thing of any interest to Brade at all was a contingent of empire troops in the last larger town several days away. Kiana and the others did speak with them, and learned they were returning from the front lines deep in the northern mountains to the capitol, and would have some time off before being redeployed.

While the conversation continues Ali finishes her spell.
While the group is stymied at the door, Brade will ask awkwardly, perhaps in order to deflect from his failure to break open the doors,
“So, um, have you come across many people out here in the emerald mar? Traveling folk, perhaps? Nomads?”
Asking any and everyone within his earshot.
Colm heads back out to check on Ali. “You alright?” He shouts over the noise of the storm.
If I haven’t offended you, don’t worry. I’m sure I’ll get to you eventually.
"Oh yeah, just tending the animals"
Kasymir goes to the door to check on the weather. "Will it ever let up," he wonders.

“Right, if you say so.” He ducks back inside cause it’s nasty out there.
