Early wisdom save: 20

Early gets a nod from his sister. Alright, that yelp must have been their queue. He didn't remember any part of any of the plan including that, but...he was thinking maybe all the plans was getting in the way of him doing a good job, so he should probably just do what he'd usually do.  He glances around and protects his sis as they head for the attic....

Uril tapped his foot. He was expecting some sort of reaction or response from the good doctor, but didn't want to be impolite.

Robin and Early moved in the opposite direction from the screaming guard and were almost at the stairs leading to the attic when someone yelled "Behind you!". Should they waste their time looking behind, they would see, that the new scream made the scared watchman switch to an ultrasonic speed (in a reasonable assumption that the ghost is still after him). He zipped past his colleagues (alerted by his yell and rushing to aid) not stopping for explanations. However, it is likely the newcomers saw two figures and a glowing egg leaving the corridor. With all the noise even elven ears would not pick up the footsteps, but acting with an assumption that speed is of the essence might be a wise decision.

"Ah? What?" Dr. Dannell, elbows, neck and what's not deep in the tinkering, finally processed Uril's first sentence. "Ah! No, yes, have to finish a few details." She talked as fast as she did at the first meeting. "I thought I was done, but no, need a few tweaks. But it will work - I'm sure it will! Just give me a second." "Oh... Did you bring the egg? Where is it?!" She stopped whatever she was doing with the case and looked Uril over as if expecting him to produce the stone from his pocket.

Lorsan, of course, saw and very clearly heard the screaming guard. While he was contemplating descending and searching for others, they appeared in the place of the scared-away security man. Unaware of Lorsan's presence, they simply hurried up the winding staircase, clearly intending to get out through the skylight.

Robin was carrying a mop with her, with the egg slowly pulsating with the light attached to one end of it. The glow was mesmerizing, and for a moment Lorsan felt lost in it.

Another Wis 10 save, please, for everyone. Robin rolls with disadvantage.

Lorsan wasn't sure which was more startling - to see Robin and Early suddenly appear, or the sight of the glowing stone/egg. His elven mind fights against the hypnotic pulsations...

"No... not yet." Uril admitted. "The others are securing it as we speak." Embellishing his current responsibility a bit, he continues: "I came here first as the vanguard... to confirm your arrival."

Thinking of something, he then asks: "Say, Doctor. Do you have a way to contact someone else magically? I'd love to send a message to the others somehow. I have seen it done but don't know the trick myself. Do you?"

(OOC: I am assuming the WIS save above for everyone excludes Uril.)

Early wisdom save: 15

"Oh..hey..there.. Fancy meeting you here.  Fancy."  He tugs as he jacket as he says it. "Get it. Fancy..and I'm dressed fancy...oh, right, the getaway...."

Lorsan blinked and the light inside the stone seemed to lose its grip on his mind. The slow pulsation remained and felt unpleasant to watch but right now the group did not have time for a deep analysis of senses and feelings - the guards were closing in. The call "Stop right there!" though still a bit far and somewhat hesitant was already heard by Lorsan.

Maybe it was that call that breathed more strength into Robin but she suddenly felt as if the stone egg behind became much lighter while climbing the stairs much easier (advantage on Strength checks and Strength saving throws for the time being).

It was also that moment when Early noticed something strange happening to him - his skin (at least the visible parts) seemed to get covered with shimmery film and hardened to the touch. Not to lose sensitivity or affect any movement but noticeably harder. ( +2 bonus to AC).

In the alley down below, Dr. Dannell raise her head and looked at Uril in an honest attempt to demonstrate her attention but a familiar voice from behind Uril's back relieved her from this duty. "I think I can help with this." Darius stepped into the light circle. "Would not leave our good Doctor alone on the streets," explained he his presence. "I take it, the egg is still inside? Do you think it is wise to contact your colleagues right now? The message I can send will be quiet, silent, in fact, but there is the danger of distraction."

Uril took a few seconds to reply. He couldn't remember if the plan always included Darius' presence at this stage and, hence, whether he should feel suspicious. "You are not wrong.... Now that I have confirmed the Doctor's arrival and know that you are here to support her, I shall return to my previous spot and keep an eye out for the rest of the team. Should they take a worryingly long time to emerge, I shall return here for that message."

With that, Uril returns to the vicinity of the building, taking care to keep an eye out for the known patrol path. His intention now is to keep an eye on the roof, around the area he saw Lorsan climbing. We hill try to signal to his companions once he emerges, so they know when it is safe to come down, patrol-wise. 

Early continued to follow his sister's lead...though he poked at his own arm a few times. "Say...have you noticed anything weird...happening to you?  I feel like maybe I feel how you might feel if you were starting to turn to stone....except...maybe not entirely bad?  Anyway...we should keep going..."

Robin glances behind her to Early, pausing just long enough to notice something. “Feelin’ like sum weight’s lifted from my shoulder.” She says in slight baffled wonder with her hobo broomstick resting on her shoulder carrying the pulsing egg. “But I’m not gunna stick ‘round teh werk it oot!” With the guard shouting after them Banks intends to go full speed ahead. Her only goal was to get out to the doctors, and her sights were set on the skylight at this point, assuming it was the closest. Then with a nod, she takes a deep breath and kicks off into a run, fully intending to leap and/or parkour her way there if anything stood in her way. 

Lorsan grins at Early's fancy greeting quip, and replies simply with a good-natured "Nice one, junior!" But his grin is all the wider at discovering that not only have Robin and Early both escaped capture, but have secured the egg to boot! The pursuers are not unexpected either, and Lorsan steps behind his prepared pile of boxes, and waves Robin and Early toward the window. "Out we go! Uril is waiting in the alley. I'll be right behind!" And as soon as the others are through the door, he closes it and tips the pile over to block it from opening.

The thundering crash of the boxes on top of the attic door probably bought the daring robbers more time. At least there was no immediate banging on the door, the noise gave the pursuers a pause.

With the door closed the darkness in the attic became quite thick. It did not bother two elves but Early had to be more careful navigating his way to the window. The starlight helped to a degree and with four more hands raising the skylight was not a problem at all. When the last of the group was leaving the attack, the first heavy slam shuddered the door. Now it was a matter of getting down without attracting more attention from the ground.

Uril was watching the roof from his spot but so far all he could see is that the skylight darkened, as if the light in there was extinguished. It was extremely hard to make something out on the dark roof now. He could see a patrol, though, turning the corner towards the main entrance. A couple of minutes later, he could hear some distressed voices, interrupted by one loud and sharp as a whipcrack. Then a guard appeared, alone and judging by his moves very alert. Most importantly, he was looking not only around but up as well.

Uril made sure he was out of the way of any patrol or irritated guard, but continued looking up in hopes of seeing his companions shortly. Surely the irritation below was connected to his team's presence. If the guards were this angry, the others were doing something right inside.

Uril waited for his chance to help his companions by signaling from a distance the exact location of the guards and/or patrol. The aim was to aid the others' descent (He assumed they'd exit the way he saw Lorsan reenter.) 

Early whispers in the dark, from the roof top, "Did we hire a brigade of pregnant ladies to start running every which way like I'd planned? That would be sweet right now. Ok...off we go....I'll lead."  

He attempts to find a reasonable place to descend, and begins climbing down...hopefully on a side of the building away from any guards...

Athletics if desired :  20

Robin adjusts her new crown. “Went wit Hobo Queen vibes.” She admits as her brother goes to climb down. Banks would eye the rooftops to see if she could make her way closer to their drop point that way, before considering dropping down.

Robin, Athletic/Acrobatic check, please, with a disadvantage for carrying the egg.

Robin would test the weight of the egg. Maybe it was adrenaline or her 'brother' rubbing off on her, but she felt stronger than usual. Deciding to risk it for the biscuit, the elven hobo princess hikes her dress and takes a running leap through the darkness over her 'brother's' head to the next rooftop. She trusted him to catch one of them should she slip up.

"Elven siblings" did not skip a bit in the escape pacing and moved straight to the side of the roof, leaving Lorsan to deal with the skylight (closing or leaving it open). The starry night provided some light and Early began his descent with a carefree confidence, armed only with the hope he is at the right spot. Robin followed suit, though in her case the confidence was justified by that energy boost she got with the last flash of the egg.

Alas, in some situations caution is more advisable than confidence. The big stone, that she was carrying around, was a very inconvenient and slippery burden. The heavy crown on Robin's head did not make the climbing easier either. At some point, her foot slipped on the detail of the giant statue she was using as a ladder, and the egg tried to escape the swaddle. It could not, but Robin lost the balance and the crown began to slide off her hair.

Once the light on the roof went off, it was hard to tell, even for Uril, if there was someone there. They had to be, otherwise, why the guard was looking up? But the darkness was too thick to tell. Suddenly, a green spark flickered in the darkness. It did not illuminate anything, but it was certainly not a detail of a statue.
