Arokas moves back to the entrance of the stalactite and looks at the path they took. He watches for a second, trying to notice if any guards have been alerted to their disappearance and escape.
Arokas moves back to the entrance of the stalactite and looks at the path they took. He watches for a second, trying to notice if any guards have been alerted to their disappearance and escape.
Arokas doesn't see any sign of the guards on the northern watchpost. Seen him come out unharmed, Jimjar and Derendil motion to the others to come into the stalactite.
The space gets crowded with so many people inside at the same time. "Are we finally going home?" Stool asks excitedly. Sarith ignores him and goes up to don a chain shirt and grab a hand crossbow and shortsword. He passes the remaining shields to the other prisoners "even if you don't want to fight, these may stop an arrow coming your way."
He suggests to Thunk and all the others to clean the drow out, leaving no equipment behind, using whatever containers are available in the armory.
"Anyone see any rations or waterskins?"
Looking around you don't see any food or water in the armory. But there are a few satchels you can use to carry the equipment you are not wielding right now.
Derendil ignores the weapons and limps forward to the other end of the stalactite to take a look outside "I see no guards on the bridge, I say we keep moving before someone raises the alarm."
Grabbing a satchel for his extra gear and keeping a low profile, Tanis takes the lead, moving quietly onto the next bridge heading southwest from the stalactite. As he does so, he looks around for drow, giant spiders, or other hazards.
He also specifically looks to see if there is a spot along the bridge where there is a gap in the spiderwebs and it is possible to dive directly down into the water, near the waterfall. And of course keeping his eyes out for any tentacled monster down there (like the one that took Bizm).
“We need to keep moving. If we can put as much distance between us and then before they realize we’re gone, the more likely we can get out,” Arokas whispers in Common, nodding to Derendil. Realizing how injured he is, Arokas asks, “Can anybody heal Derendil? He seems badly injured.”
Looking around, Tanis notices that the constant flow from the waterfall has cleared a space around it free of spiderwebs. The waterfall's noise on this side of the stalactite also explains why the drow on the southern end have not heard you fighting your way out yet.
Tanis proceeds along the bridge. "The sound from the waterfall is muffling the noise of our escape so far, but our luck won't hold for long. The waterfall has also cleared a space in the spiderwebs where we can dive down into the pool below. But it is a long way down and the monster in the water that grabbed Bizm may still be lurking down there. Is everyone up for chancing the dive? Otherwise we might need to fight our way further south."
He looks back at Arokas and Derendil. "I have limited magic (Goodberry) to create a stash of magical berries that serve as food and heal slightly. I don't know if they be enough in his current heavily-injured state. Does anyone else have a way to heal him? Otherwise, I will cast the spell."
Arokas casts his eyes down when Tanis asks about his magic. Softly, he says, “My magic isn’t for helping people. I wish I never had to use it.” Out of the corner of his eye Arokas notices Thunk jump off of the cliff and gasps. “Well, looks like that decision was made,” Arokas says and dives off the cliff after Thunk.
Part of Tanis feels like laughing hysterically for a moment as Thunk jumps after what he thinks is the monster in the water. Even if we survive, the orcs may be the only sane ones left after this is all over. But we probably do need to jump, whatever our reasons are.
He looks to the dwarven priest, Drogen. "The... Derendil is near death and may not survive the jump. Can you heal him? After that, we all jump." Tanis realizes that he almost called Derendil "the quaggoth," but is glad he didn't since Derendil himself seems convinced he is an elven prince.
Tanis stands watchful for any approaching drow or other enemies or hazards. Ready to take the plunge immediately after (hopefully) Derendil is healed.
The escaped prisoners reactions are mixed seeing Thunk and Arokas jumping into the water pool below. Most are surprised by the action, Stool starts to tremble and goes as close to Tanis as it can "does Stool need to fall too? Stool knows not how to fly."
Eldeth takes a step to look over the edge at the water below and comments "that is a sure way to avoid the other guard post", jumping after both of them. Jimjar, still wearing a drow guard's likeness, shakes his head and says "I still think we can fool them without getting soaked." Sarith replies "the drop to the pool will be safer than facing Ilvara face to face."
Topsy, Turvy, and Buppido seem ambivalent about the options and stay silent. Ront looks angry, you can tell that he doesn't want to fight all the drow at the same time, but following after a dwarf is something that goes aginst his every instinct.
Derendil looks at Drogen hopefully, trying to keep a stoic expression.
(Common)"Aye I can heal him," Drogen replies as he casts a spell and lays his hands on Derendil (cure light wounds for 7) before jumping into the water after the others.
Tanis nods as the dwarven cleric heals a few of Derendil's wounds. To everyone, he observes:
"Many of us have taken drow gear. It will be difficult to fool all of them, let alone Ilvara. This is our best chance, I think. Time to jump."
He picks up Stool, cradling the myconoid in his arms. "None of us know how to fly, I think. But every flight begins with a fall." He leaps off the bridge.
Arokas bursts out of the water, gasping for air. The dirt that covered his face and hands is washed off with the force of the splash. Arokas’ hair is a dark blue, and his fingers on his left hand are covered in the same dark blue scales, not unlike a dragon.
His eyes widen as he realizes this, but the monster grabs his attention. With a flash, Arokas pushes his left hand forward at the monster, casting Chill Touch.
Drogen follows up to the second level and equips himself with a dagger, chain shirt and a shield. He also grabs 100’ of rope.
Tanis breathes a sigh of relief at all the gear. That is one problem averted... many more to go...
Having already equipped himself with studded leather and a hand crossbow from the guard they had overpowered in the prison, Tanis adds:
He suggests to Thunk and all the others to clean the drow out, leaving no equipment behind, using whatever containers are available in the armory.

Let's see if a map made in excel is good for this. Arokas goes first.
Initiative order:
22 Arokas

19 Derendil (36)
18 Sarith
15 Eldeth
14 Tanis (holding Stool)
14 monster
11 Thunk
