Daphyra looks annoyed as the stirges all awaken from her Sleep spell. She turns and casts Healing Word on Sildar, then points at one of the stirges and says "Dong", casting Toll the Dead.
Action: Toll the Dead on Stirge 6 (DC13 Wis save or 2 necrotic damage)
Marten got away from the boar, but as soon as he made it past the fighters, he realized that the real threat was the flock of stirges. He didn't have time to fire another arrow before the stirges were on top of the party, eager for blood.
With a stirge so close to him, Marten forgoes his bow. Still holding his shortbow in his left hand, he draws one of his daggers with his right hand, moving slowly like he's trying not to spook a skittish horse. Marten looks calmly at the stirge as it flaps right up to his face. Just before it can latch on, Marten brings the dagger up swiftly, impaling the creature (S5) and then waiting a moment for its wings to stop flapping. Marten drops his hand and lets the now-lifeless body slide off the dagger's blade and onto the ground. Then he moves back to the front of the line (avoiding opportunity attacks) to make it easier for the fighters to reach the back of the line. It also gives Marten space to use his bow and to look out for any other threats from the south.
As Marten passes the fighters, he sees that Berry has already killed the two stirges at the front and calls out, "Behind ye', Nosam," indicating the stirge (S2) on the shaft of Kiselina's halberd.
Movement: 30' of movement D7 > D8 >> D9 (10', ally's space) >> D10 (10', ally's space) > D11 Action: Attack stirge S5, Dagger: 18 (in game log), Damage: 4 (in game log) Bonus Action: Cunning Action, Disengage Free Action: Drawing shoddy old knife (dagger), talking
(Updated to indicate which stirge Marten attacks and to add the warning to Nosam.)
Nosam heads north towards the swarming and stops near Marten. If S5 is down from Marten he attacks the other (S4). "I'm headed your way, I keep missin' the action."
Movement- North to E or F7
Action- Attack with warhammer S5 if alive, if dead then S4. Hit- 20 (15+5), Damage- 6 (3+3)
Daphyra heals Sildar, who looks better immediately.
Stirge 7 is KO’d by Kiselina, while Stirges 1 & 3 both lose their buzz to Berry’s blows.
Stirge 6 avoids Vidruth’s magical flame, and also avoids (WIS save 17-1=16) Daphyra’s killing klanging, while Stirge 2 hurdles Kiselina’s halberd.
Marten slices Stirge 5 then slithers southward, cunningly avoiding the Stirge 2’s proboscis.
Nosam avoids falling into the bog by moving to E7 instead of F7, and there, smashes Stirge 4 whose tiny bat-bug body Peeeewwwww! catapults across the bog to splat against a tree trunk. However, Stirge 2’s proboscis’s’s tiny teeth snip at Nosam as he goes by:
S2 Blood Drain - Nosam 25 to hit / 7 piercing damage.
And the Stirge’s tiny claws grab onto the dwarf’s neck from behind and its proboscis buries deeply and blood flows out of Nosam, who loses (adding critical damage) 4 +4total damage. The creature is now attached to Nosam, who will take automatic damage on the Stirge’s turn! It is carried by Nosam and thus not subject to an attack of opportunity as it leaves Kiselina’s vicinity.
Enemies
Stirge 2 continues to suck blood from Nosam, doing an additional 4 piercing damage on the Stirge’s turn.
Stirge 6 attacks Daphyra from above, darting down and making figure eights around her ears until its tiny teeth snip shut…
S6 Blood Drain - Daphyra 18 to hit / 4 piercing damage.
A shudder goes through Berry's body when he notices how one of the little beasts attaches to Nosam. He soars 5, 10 feet up, over the head of Kiselina and follows Nosam, "Hey! That one got you, Nosam!" He split the backside of the stirge with a strike that didn't look very surgical but was well placed, splattering Nosam's recently extracted blood over him. Then, he continues to fly over the head of the goblin prisoner and stabs precisely at the last stirge.
Move to E6, 5 to 10 feet over G2 Free: Reckless attack Action: Scimitar to hit (4,11)+5 Bonus: Shortsword to hit (13,20)+5, critical hit

Sorry, I'm beginning to enter a vacation period and while I will try to check-in at least daily, I cannot promise that I will always be able to do so. From September 1, I should be back to normal.
The final Stirges fall to Berry’s blades. From here it takes another fifteen minutes to reach the Triboar Trail, and from there, half the day to reach Phandalin, which you do without further encounters — not a single passerby. The sun is low over the western sky when the town comes into view. I will give you a couple of days to RP regarding next steps.

After the skirmish with the Stirges, Kiselina asks Nosam and Daphyra if either need any assistance. The damage done from such horrid creatures looks painful and he wishes to stave off any lingering effects such as disease that the tiny beasts might have transmitted. (Medicine check: 21)
“Nice handy work Master Berry, I’d say you dispatched half of the buggers yourself!”
Once on the Triboar trail and well on the group’s way, before turning off towards Phandalin Kiselina posses the following questions to Vidruth, Sildar, and the group in general, “What are we going to do about our two captive goblin’s? Is there a means to detain them in Phandalin, Master Sildar? And if so, what of their fate afterwards? Perhaps it best to hold onto them until well after Master Gundren’s rescue, (and be mindful of what we speak about around them) but can they be held somewhere in the town?”
Daphyra shakes her head at Kiselina. "No trouble," she replies. "Its bite must have been dislodged by my armour. Thank the goddess! That does look nasty," she adds, eyeing Nosam's wound.
She yawns hugely as she walks, her large leporine teeth on show. "I would love to have an early night once we get back to Phandalin! What a day."

“Held?,” Sildar answers Kiselina. “For what purpose, held? I would just as soon dispatch the creatures now.”
In response, one of the goblins growls at Sildar, a strident gremlin noise, while its eyes focus on the bodyguard’s neck like a poisoned poniard.
“Oh no, not, held!,” the other goblin cuts in, body chucking the first one which trips and hangs upside down for a moment, dragged forward by its manacles. “Goblins hate capture. A fate worse than death!” Continues the second goblin, its words unctuous and reeking of falseness (Deception: 6).
Sildar, his face still haggard, despite Daphyra’s healing, continues answering the Dragonborn.
“There is a place. With townmaster Harbin Wester. But whether he wishes to use the people’s taxes to feed such… captives… is anyone’s guess. I would not, for there is no point. Goblins are born to evil doing, and for that there is no remedy,” he finishes, absently rubbing his forearm above the mess of his tortured hand and staring, stone-cold, at the second goblin until it turns away, muttering.

"We still owe Gundren," opines Berry with a serious expression. "We may need to investigate Cragmaw Castle first, however. Where it is and if there is any chance for us to rescue him from there. I wager attacking a castle is entirely different from rooting out some goblins from a cave, and we know now that we much underestimated those few goblins. Those in the castle are probably much more organised, with living in a castle and all."
"I say let's see what the locals know about the castle," says Berry and begins asking around, starting in the tavern, about what people know about it. (Investigation: 14)

Marten and Nosam find … Klarg carries nothing except his own weapons, a huge cudgel and a huge bracer which works like a shield for a big person. Kiselina could use it.
As the group prepares to enter Phandalin for a rest and plan their next action, Kiselina recalls the bugbear’s bracer Marten and Nosam gathered. “Gentlemen, (he begins) I have been giving some thought about Klarg’s armaments. While it is not befitting for me to wear in its current state, might I try and see if there is a capable blacksmith in town who might make it more conducive for a knight to use? I don’t believe anyone else has need of it, but if the consensus is to sell it, then perhaps I might buyout each of your shares. What say you, Master Nosam and Master Marten?”

"Glad those little ones are taken care of, they were quite the nuisance." Nosam begins strolling along with the rest of the group and is glad to be headed towards town, even if only for a night or two. Through various conversations Nosam chimed in, but for the most part he was overall reserved.
"I'm up for askin' around once we arrive Mister Berry, but I must say I'm not too trustin' of any of these folks yet. We should probably ask wisely."
"Ah, the bracers. By all means big fella, if you can use 'em, you can have 'em. At least my portion."
