Etriel Darastrix leaves the pinecone on the pillar and tries to have her magic hand land a twig on the pillar bearing that symbol. She then looks around for a feather...
Meanwhile, the foreign traveler invites her fellow travelers: "Whoever wants to try it, come forward... I'm proceeding based on my intuition at the moment, but I have no certainty that I'm doing what needs to be done."
"This is all interesting, but I'm not seeing the source of the tracks we followed." Neldak will investigate the area and try to understand the connection between these symbols. 14 Investigation.
No roll needed to find a feather. It can be found easily. So far, Etriel notices nothing responding to anything she is doing.
Neldak, on the map, due west of the sarcophagus that you are currently around on the western wall of the circle, you can see a break in the wall that the tracks appear to go to. It looks like it drops down about 10ft quite steeply inside. You also do notice the symbol of the brazier does seem to match the brazier in the gazebo just north of you.
"Hey, this symbol of the brazier looks like the brazier over there." Neldak points. "Do you think we might have to collect and or burn these five items? Not sure where we'd get a hand, if so. But more importantly, those tracks seem to lead to that crack. It might be the moose's den."
Etriel Darastrix looks around thoughtfully... "I'm not very good at solving these kinds of riddles, Lord Neldak... I was hoping it would be enough to place the symbol on each pillar..." As she speaks, having already placed the twig, pinecone, and feather, she sends her magical hand to deposit a small pile of fuel (sticks and dry leaves, perhaps) on the two spots marked by the brazier, then lights them with magic and attempts to place her hand on the pillar with the hand symbol.
If still nothing happens, the foreign traveler shrugs: "But perhaps the process is more complicated than that, and we'll discover more by exploring. Let's go down to the White Moose's lair, then."
And, if no one has any better ideas, the eladrin huntress leads the party along the trail Neldak found.
Danon walks into the area and sees the crystal structure and the sarcophagus, he feels a tingling feeling up his spine and neck, he begins to get goosebumps despite his warm weather gear. (Arcana 17). Normally slower than the others to pick up on things, Danon is instantly on edge, on guard and looking around frequently, feeling that something important is about to happen. Something magical. He sees what looks like a sun (or moon?) dial, and goes up to it and pushes it, trying to get it to move. “How .. does… this… work?” He glances over at Etriel quizzically.
