Randa looks across at Ylis, " Remind me to never get on your bad side."
" Should we bury them? They're going to attract predators to the road if we just leave them out smelling like a barbecue."
“We could. They already dug the holes for us.” Sacha says, gesturing towards the pits they arose from, “Or we could make an example out of them. Lie their bodies out in the open as a warning to any would-be raiders. Hang them upside down from a spire. Carve a message from their bodies to say ‘the evil must die for this land to become good.’ Let the scavengers have them so their pitiful lives may be of use to the wilds.”
“We should also interrogate these men,” She pulls the two unconscious bandits up to the road, “And decide their fates.”
...She pulls the two unconscious bandits up to the road...
DM: The one, as Ylis turned your other unconscious man into ash.
The party looks behind them and finds a bloodied Maggie smash a person with her maul with such force, that the person’s body is buried into the earth and their arms and legs are pointed straight up. On the ground, on their side, are nearly as many bodies. It looks like five fled. Err…. three, as Entropy is seen running one down and cutting them with her longsword, then immediately sprints to one more to jam her sword in their back. The three who get away just happen to be barely fast enough to have put too much distance between them and the less fast two, and the blood-lusted Entropy. As the saying goes, "when you and your friend are being chased by a bear, you don't need to be faster than the bear, you just need to be faster than your friend".
Several bodies have daggers perfectly placed between the eyes and an unscathed Irvan is in the process of going to collect his thrown weapons. Ayo is a mess. She bears crossbow bolts in her person, vicious cuts on her body, and is busy trying to rouse Dermot from unconsciousness while an exhausted Galsariad hunches over her for moral support. Maggie breathes heavily, analyzes the battlefield, then spares a look to the hero’s side. When she sees that there are no more enemies, her eyes roll back in her head and she collapses. They won, but not quite as well as you.
It is this time that The fine fern Morgan pops back into a man.
Well, you ain't no doctor but swords definitely don't belong inside heads. He is still breathing, but you have no idea if his condition will improve or degrade based on what you can see.
Edit: Oh dang, the first time I saw the post, it was a 6 on the Medicine Check. Now it is 15 and the post is still unedited, so I will adjust my response.
Randa can see that someone had chopped down on the little goblin with their sword, splitting his head. He breathes very slowly and the breaths are shallow. It is remarkable that he is still alive but likely will not be in the next few minutes. Ayo cradles him in her arms as her wounds close, but she looks up at Randa like Randa did something deeply wrong.
Ylion ponders burning the bodies more, just to be sure, then grunts. There is work to be done.
She races to Rumble and looks at the wound, "You big baby you had me worried!, that's just a scratch!" At that time across the field, she hears the cry "No, him!" She sprints to the aid of Ayo and Dermot, clawed feet kicking up dust as she skids to halt. She lays a plate sized paw on Dermot's head and wisps of glowing white flow into him. The magic of the Moonweave heals him for 21.
The lion looks at Randa questioningly, "I'll get back to you."
Looking around she trots over to Maggie and heals her as well for 11"Sorry guys that's about all I can do for now."
She runs back to her friends and looks at Sacha and Morgan, "Wow, you guys look like poop! HA!" It doesn't stop her from healing Morgan for 17 and Sacha for 18.
She finally goes back to Rumble makes cooing noises while changing back to bunny form. A double hand of goodberries appears in her hand and she feeds a couple to him while eating a few herself (5 total).

"Right now I want to leave them where they are. They don't deserve the honor of a proper burial." Ylis thinks, "I do like sending a message though. Like using their bodies to spell 'Best Bandits'. ..The wild life needs to eat too though. Look at this place," she gestures "it could use all the help it can get. The least these scum could do is contribute to the living."

"............anybody got any potatoes? We could drop a potato in each hole an' see which ones get viciously mauled by horrible monsters?"
The split in the goblin's head closes and Dermot's eyes flutter open. He looks up at Ayo. "Hey," he croaks. Then as his senses return to him, he immediately tries to rise. "Anyone need any healing?"
Ayo holds him down. "Ylis got everyone, you did enough for now. Rest. I'm like, four times your size, so I will make you rest if you try to get up," Ayo half-jokes. Galsariad places a comforting hand on Ayo's shoulder. She initially looks up in gratitude, but does a double-take when she realizes whose hand it is and holds Galsariad's gaze a few seconds too long. The moment becomes uncomfortable for both and they look away, blushing. Galsariad remembers he left something in the wagon, but can't seem to remember what, and he trots off.
Maggie stirs and mutters her thanks as Ylis takes off back to Sacha and Morgan. Irvan is cleaning his daggers and sliding them back into their hiding places on his person. He shakes his head and clicks his tongue in disapproval.
Ayo grunts out the embarrassed energy and looks for a distraction. She finds it in Randa, still standing nearby. "Sorry. I wasn't actually blaming you or nothing. I just... I guess I was just scared."
Morgan pops back into existence, stumbling as soil scatters where the potted plant once stood. "That was the weirdest thing!" he blurts, eyes wide.
He takes a shaky breath, running a trembling hand through his hair. "I... I lost control. I gave in to the chaos inside me and it felt... incredible. Exhilarating… and terrifying at the same time."
He lets out a breathless laugh. "When I thought I was finally getting a grip on it... everything just went black. And it was so peaceful..."
Morgan glances toward Randa and Ylis, a crooked grin tugging at his lips. "Given your love for plants, I figured I was in good hands."
He bursts out laughing... though his hands are still trembling.
Morgan’s expression goes blank as Ylis’s healing light mends his wounds. His mouth hangs half-open, eyes unfocused as he takes in the aftermath — the smell of smoke, the bodies, the silence.
"We did… this?" he whispers, barely audible.
His gaze drifts over the fallen... half-burned, their faces buried in the dirt. He wonders what choices, what debts, what desperate needs had led them here. How many lucky coin flips had kept him from ending up the same way.
A cold weight settles in his stomach. He exhales slowly, guilt pressing down heavier than the pain. Then, quietly, he nods to Ylis in thanks — no words, just a glance full of gratitude — and pushes himself to his feet.
After a few silent moments, he strides toward Randa, anger flickering beneath the exhaustion — most of it turned against himself.
"Next time…" he says, voice low but tight, trembling at the edges. He gestures at the carnage around them. "Look at this! Next time… we speak first." He hesitates, guilt bleeding through the anger. "Let me do the talking."
Randa shrugged, " They made their choice. I made mine."
" Last time we bantered words with their like innocents were harmed. At least now they will enrich the soil here."
Her eyes softened, " I understand. I too once wished for the best in people....I learned my lesson that day and many since.".
Ayo grunts out the embarrassed energy and looks for a distraction. She finds it in Randa, still standing nearby."Sorry. I wasn't actually blaming you or nothing. I just... I guess I was just scared."
" That makes two of us....."
She turned to watch Galsariad walk away.
" You can do better.", she quipped quietly to Ayo with a smirk.
