For a brief instant, his eyes go empty. Pitch black, like a void. And within that darkness, something stirs… distant, chaotic stars flickering, novas blooming and dying in silence. But no one has time to truly look.
(Bonus Action: Innate Sorcery activated.)
"We’re just here to talk."
He flashes his best smile.
Without a word or gesture, the air in the room shifts as he casts Hypnotic Pattern.
(WIS save DC 17 | Subtle Spell, 1 Sorcery Point — no visible casting)
A brilliant flash of colors erupts, filling the room. Four of the five humanoids have hardened expressions that slacken just as they stand from their bedrolls or their seat at the table. Only one squints against the piercing light, a hand flashing up to cover his eyes. "Pha! They cast a spell!"
The imp narrows his eyes barely against the light and huffs. "Cute. You have... one minute... before..."
"I'm going to turn your guts into my niece's bowstring!" The one standing humanoid, a high elf male, says as he draws his sword and dagger.
DM: Roll Ini-
The imp rolls his eyes and snaps his fingers. The head of the elf explodes rather spectacularly, spraying blood and brain matter across the entire southeastern half of the room.
DM: Never mind.
"Interruptions." He grunts. "You have... one minute... before your trick... wears off. Talk."
Frekor scofs at the imp's attempt at intimidating them.
-No need for talking. We didn't fight you before because we were tired, but now we rested enough.- says the ranger before unsheathing his 2 swords and points with his shortsword at the imp.
"You'll be mine".- says in a challenging tone. (Bonus action: Hunter's mark on the imp).
Noticing that the other enemies seem to be charmed by what the now dead elf said, Frekor looks at the team.
-Let's start with this thing first, then we'll deal with these warriors.-
He then enters the room and gets to the imp's side. (Frekor would be at the right of the imp on the map)
After gettiong in a position that doesn't block the path to the party, Frekor attacks the imp with his shortsword. ( First attack: To hit: 20, 13+ 7. Damage: 10, 6+4. Using Vex for the next attack.)
After stabbing the imp. He slashed it with his scimitar (With Nick mastery: 1º To hit: 22, 15+7. 2º To hit: 27, Nat 20+7. Keeping the Nat 20 of course. Damage: 8, 2+2+4.)
Thanks to the magic imbedded on the imp, it suffers more damage. (Hunter's Mark: 1 point of Force Damage.)
Because of his training to be a fast warrior, he was able to attack the imp once more whit his shortsword. (Second attack: To hit: 17, 10+7. Damage: 5, 1+4.)
The speed of his flurry of attacks made extra damage than if they were done separately. (Colossus Slayer: 5.)
Nivi has no intention of merely talking, and she doubts that Morgan does either, despite his words. Still, she answers the Imp.
[Head-Exploder Imp] "Probably going... to die down here... covered in filth." ... The imp sets its card face down, so his opponent can't see the hand.
"We all die filthy in the end, sweet cheeks." Nivi'sTal'Dorei drawl seems more pronounced than ever. "That hand you laid down there, though. It's a loser."
She darts in behind Frekor. As she reaches melee range of the Imp (5'), Shiv flaps from his perch on her shoulder and poops on the fiendish creature's head (help action) before flying away (Flyby prevents opportunity attack) out the door, alighting eventually on Nivi's other shoulder (60' move speed).
Her rapier attack on the Imp which immediately follows is less like that of a graceful fencer and resembles more closely a sudden prison-style shanking to the throat of a distracted victim. Pale green energy the color of Nivi's eyes seems to sheathe first the blade and then its target.
Movement: N - NW - (Nivi and Shiv's Action, Nivi's Bonus Action) - SE - S - E - E (taking cover out the door and to the east).
Action: Nivi casts Booming Blade with her Rapier on the Imp, at advantage due to Shiv'shelp and 3d20s due to her Elven Accuracy Feat. Booming Blade with Rapier to hit Imp: 20 (dirty, had to use her Heroic Inspiration since highest from 3d20s was just a 12! A 4, 4 and 5 on the dice!) Booming Blade with Rapier damage: 11 base + 12 Sneak Attack = 23 piercing + 5 thunder from Booming Blade = 28 total if no resistances Vex Weapon Mastery: on a hit, Nivi's next attack on the creature is at Advantage. Booming Blade secondary damage: Imp takes 14 additional thunder damage if it moves on its turn.
Bonus Action: Cunning Action - Nividisengages before moving away as described above.
Shiv's Movement: After the help action, Shiv uses Flyby to wing away south out the door, then east to alight on Nivi's other shoulder once she arrives.
Sky will move into the room protecting Morgan, keeping 5' to his left, placing him right beside the still-living cutthroat in the lower left-hand corner, Sky's back still to the southern wall.
"I'm usually all for diplomacy,"Sky says to the imp, "but I'm getting the feeling the people I'm with and the people in this city really don't want you lot down here doing your dirty business. There's also the matter of avenging the death of someone I liked."
The tall paladin swings his halberd at the imp as he makes his first attack. (13 to hit imp (rolled a 6); if that hits: 13 damage) [OOC: Awful roll to start combat; I will spend my Heroic Inspiration to reroll that.] [Rerolled attempt: (15 to hit imp (rolled an 8); if that hits: 8 damage and attempt to Cleave on the Cutthroat adjacent.) (Cleave attack vs. Cutthroat: Natural 1, miss)
Sky grits his teeth, grabbing his halberd more closely as he focuses on striking the imp once again. (14 to hit imp (rolled a 7): if that hits, 11 damage).
[OOC: Wow I could definitely use some to-hit help from the party. I am not rolling higher than 8s.]
The baddies win Initiative, but since all the living people are Incapacitated, they can do nothing.
They stare into infinity as the Heroes march into the room and do their nasty business. The imp regards Nivi with a wink.
Frekor slides up to the right of the imp and goes to work on him just as Shiv's munition impacts on the imp's scalp. Steaming ichor spews from his wounds as Frekor cuts again and again. Nivi advances aggressively and runs the imp through with her rapier. He is immediately wrapped in a thundering energy, which begins to fade; several vital arteries were severed in moments and the imp's stumpy legs give out, dropping him to one knee.
"Persuasive... rhetoric," he utters through gurgles. "Do you know... how painful... it is to... grow a new... body?" He spits some of his yellowish blood on the ground and his eyes lose focus. He then rolls onto his back and takes his last breath. His body immediately begins to dissolve.
DM: Sky, since the imp was just killed, you can select another creature to target with those existing rolls.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ylis holds up her spear and speaks to it, "Those are very bad men, but they are basically helpless. Killing them is necessary even if they cannot defend themselves now. If we let them live they will hurt other people. You don't have to be a part of it."
She slings her spear, draws her staff and enchants it with the Moon Weaver's power (Shillelagh). Then she moves close to Cutthroat D and gives him a whack! (True Strike)
Staff Attack: 9 Damage: 12

DM: Sky will target Cutthroat A after moving into the room and into the square directly south of Cutthroat A, now 5' away from both Ylis and Morgan.
The tall paladin swings his halberd at Cutthroat A as he makes his first attack. (13 to hit A (rolled a 6); if that hits: 13 damage) [OOC: Awful roll to start combat; I will spend my Heroic Inspiration to reroll that.] [Rerolled attempt: (15 to hit Cutthroat A (rolled an 8); if that hits: 8 damage and attempt to Cleave on the Cutthroat E adjacent.) He watches Ylis go for one cutthroat and Sky for another. "So much enthusiasm. I don't need to explain that it's better to focus our attacks on one at a time while they're still daydreaming, right? We don't want to wake them all up."
Then he sends a simple burst of sorcerous fire at Cutthroat D (or Cutthroat A if D is already down, attack: 21, damage: 9 fire)
OOC: @DM I'm not sure how you rule non-lethal attacks with spells/cantrips, but Morgan will try not to kill them.

Morgan steps forward.
