"Ah," Krolbrik breathes a sigh of relief; he noticed he wasn't struggling to breathe or stand tall near as much. "Thank you."
"The sneak-thief might as well pick the direction we are going; we haven't an idea what is down here.," He continued, looking around. "Although, as I said... we should move cautiously for that exact same reason; we don't know what is down here. And given what we have seen thus far above us, we should not move carelessly."
And with that, Krolbrik would draw his sword and begin to make his way down the hall to the left of the basement entryway as quietly as he could in chainmail armor, carefully listening for anything coming down the hall towards him and his.
"You were trying to take things off of the walls before we even knew that the inhabitants of this place have been long-dead." Krolbrik's whispered words are dour and to-the-point.
"The strange cat is still like a normal cat. To attracted to shiny objects...." Ericina remarks as she looks at Bala with a shake of her head, moving to draw her scimitar when she sees Krolbrik draw his sword.
Krolbrik's armor clinks and clangs as he goes along the tunnel. Despite that, the tunnels are quiet and no threats are seen.
The party heads east along the tunnel, led by their fearless hobgoblin paladin. Five feet down the tunnel you all pass a path which leads off to the right and ends in a T-intersection. Another five feet, the tunnel you are in ends in a left turn that leads down a set of stairs; the ceiling dips at a sharp incline to match the stairs and blocks your line of sight further down the left tunnel.
Ericina will pop up to the front to be next to the hobgoblin. "We should go right. Left is always the last choice." She she says this she leans forward to hold thenflame in her hand in front of them.
(I know she did it because she drew hers since she saw him do it. She is still sensible enough to have some self preservation left. Well except maybe around some animals...)
Ericina, you take the lead, guiding the party down the right tunnel. As you approach, you notice that what you first thought was a T-intersection was just a hallway connecting a pair of subterranean crypts. On the left, a blank stone slab leans against a nearby wall. The crypt it is meant to seal is empty. On the right, the stone slab meant to seal this crypt also leans against a nearby wall. Etched into it is the name Walter Durst. This crypt is also empty.
Ericina looks at the crypts and then the others as shenrrwads the name on the out loud. "Walter Durst.... Wasn't that the name on the picture we found.... That must make this the tomb of somone....."
"Yes. But tombs are supposed to be sealed, not open."
Krolbrik began to look around, clearly a bit uneasy as he entered the tomb on the right side, carefully examining the entire room to try and deduce what laid within and perhaps, even, how the crypt came to be unsealed.
Krolbrik, from here it's almost impossible to gauge, it's more of a drone than anything else.
Bala, you press your ear to the clay wall of the tunnel. From here it's impossible to pin down the source.
"Oh Krolbrik, you're still wounded. Let me help."
Adira takes the pan pipes from her belt an blows a soft note.

"Well, uh..." Bala fiddles with his fingers. "I'm stumped. Whatever we're looking for could be in the friggin' walls. I say we go left."

(I'm terrible at this, but Krolbrik is compelled by his training to get in front and protect. XD )
"It's not stealing if...technically nobody owns it."

"Ah, Ah! I don't try to steal anything, I already have." Bala holds up his right hand, the three rings gleaming in Ericina's flame light.
"The strange cat is still like a normal cat. To attracted to shiny objects...." Ericina remarks as she looks at Bala with a shake of her head, moving to draw her scimitar when she sees Krolbrik draw his sword.
(To be clear, Krolbrik's weapon is lowered, not pointed at anybody; he's just having it ready in case of shenanigans.)
Roux will be in the middle, keeping alert and his eyes peeled. "I reeeallly dont like that chanting"

Which way do you go, left or right?

"Hm," for a moment, Krolbrik looks to Ericina, as if he were seriously considering her proposal.
"I appreciate your initiative, but right is probably the most prudent."

Ok, I guess its time to go left.

"How long have we been rooting about this place?"
Investigation: 19
"Long enough! Whatever was in there is not, which means we should not be here!"
Another check, Bala is focusing on the chanting to find its source.
