Let's say Erric's limerick reaches Anafrey's ears before that second roll: 3. Well, shoot.
OK, so, Anafrey goes up 15 feet, nowhere (despite Erric's helpful limerick), up another 15 feet, then falls 25 feet, the rope catching her five feet from the ground. She recovers and climbs another 15 feet. She's now 20 feet off the ground.
Taking it upon myself ...

OK, maybe I shouldn't. She climbs another 15 feet up (35 total), then slips again, falling back another 25 feet. She's now 10 feet off the ground, but unharmed.
Thank goodness for the pitons! Anafrey, I'll let you roll some more.
The above is fixed in Post 1265 below.
Maldorn, the birds are circling the very top of the peak. And they aren't very big. But you think they might be a kind of hawk.
Jambiya, the peak looks to be about 100 feet high.
(OOC: Well, Maldorn's range is 150/600 with Sharpshooter, so might as well.)
Maldorn tries to calm Erric down a bit: "Worry not Ueric, if they are dangerous, we'll get a jump on them. If they are just hawks as I suspect they are, we'll have dinner."The ranger takes an arrow from his quiver and slowly drags it along his bow's shaft. Taking his time to pick the perfect opportunity, we waits until one of the winged creatures is flying above solid ground. The goal is for it to not fall on the water, if he is successful.
(OOC: I'll venture a guess the bird would be surprised by the flying arrow. If that is not the case, please feel free to only take the first d20 roll below into account.)
"I am one with the woods," he exhales:
-> Longbow vs. bird overhead: Attack: 26 Damage: 6 piercing.
Anafrey begins climbing and Erric steps forward and recites his limerick, being sure to speak loudly enough for the climber to hear. After placing the first piton 15 feet up, she begins climbing again. The limerick is rolling around in her head, and as she starts to climb again, her eyes catch something above her she doesn't like. She decides to veer to her left as she continues. She climbs another 15 feet, places a piton, and then climbs another 10 feet to a plateau. She secures the end of the rope on the plateau and looks over to let everyone know she is on solid ground once again. Alarmingly, Maldorn has shot an arrow straight at her head! It flies by her, causing her to jump back and utter a sound of surprise. She looks up to see the arrow catch one of the birds. It's a good shot, and she realizes the arrow wasn't meant for her (nor was it really all that close to hitting her). The bird falls to the ground, landing on the first slope and rolling down toward the waiting party. Once the creature flops to a stop, the group on the ground can see it move slightly. The arrow has been broken off, but a piece of it is still sticking through the creature's body.
The blood hawk, as identified by Maldorn, succumbs once the arrow is removed from its body. It is the size of a typical hawk, but its feathers are crimson.

“You are climbing, I’m hunting”Maldorn smiles.
Unless the hawks and coming down for revenge, Maldorn begins field dressing the blood hawk. He prioritizes the feathers, but will also save the meat for the group’s next meal. Once done, the bird hangs from Maldorn’s belt.
Erric grabs the rope with both hands and lifts his legs to plant his feet on the incline. He promptly loses his footing and his legs fly over his head in a reverse somersault. His butt smacks the incline and he then lets go of the rope and lands on his shoulders and neck, smacking the back of his head. Luckily, he only sees stars and doesn't suffer any damage. Jambiya and Ebokk are immediately at the halfling's side, making sure he's OK. Aside from his pride, he is uninjured. Maldorn looks over from his kill, smirks a little, but has the good graces to not comment.
Going at it a little more carefully, Erric climbs 30 feet fairly skillfully before running into an issue that causes him to backtrack a little before starting up again. He finally makes it to the top, Anafrey pulling him up the final little bit by the back of his tunic like a mother cat lifting one of her kittens. She places him on his feet and pats him twice on the head before looking over the edge again in anticipation of Ebokk.

What do we see from there? How big is the platform/flat area where Anafrey, Ebokk, and Erric are standing? Does it seem like anyone's used the bluff for anything? Any tools or markings? What can we see of the rest of the crag? Perception/investigation: 3
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Investigate for any tools/markings etc was the intention, so I gave perception as an option if you thought it was just looking for evidence that may or may not be there, vs investigating evidence that was there. The bonuses are the same for both, but the focus was the evidence of beings using the area for anything interesting. Perception might be more for seeing the rest of the crag, and seeing out over the rest of the island? So if you need a second roll for that, here goes: 5 (he'll ask for help from Anafrey or Ebokk if possible!
Maldorn keeps Jambiya company for now and continues/finishes cleaning his kill.
He tells the climbers as they move up the wall: "I can provide cover to you climbers with my bow. If you see something in need of shooting, make sure to bring it to an edge so I can see it."

OOC: Does Maldorn recognize the creature. Is it a hawk, a gull? How big is it?
Maldorn retrieves the broken arrow and saves the arrowhead so he can fashion a new one later.
“There it is” he says to Erric.
OOC > The bird is still alive?
Jambiya takes an involuntary step back. "Oh! Maldorn, end it, quickly. It's crying out. I can't..." and she covers her ears and crouches down.

There are still several more hawks circling the top.
Maldorn begins dismantling the bird.
Anafrey is standing on the first plateau, scowling down at the others.
Ebokk leans in to Erric and says, "Perhaps we should climb and join her."
What do you think, Erric?
"Well, I've seen better ideas! But I don't want to leave Anafrey all alone up there, so I'll give it a shot." Erric says, squinting up at the sky.
He grabs hold of the rope and tries to climb up, hoping Anafrey can help him as he's not the strongest chap.

Do you want to perceive or investigate with your 18?
The platform is about 200ft deep (from incline to incline) and about 250 ft wide.
