OOC: Yes, split up the rations. The encounter will come before Ebokk, and it will take place after Neverwinter. If there's something quick you wanted to do in Neverwinter, include it in your posts as a catch up.
The four adventurers leave at first light the next morning, heading south for Neverwinter. They plan to skirt the southern tip of Neverwinter Wood, but head generally east toward the northern tip of the Sword Mountains to rendezvous with Ebokk and delve into the unknown vault. Nothing too interesting happens as they travel the High Road the two and a half days to Neverwinter. They walk with a friendly family of humans for the last half day to the big city. The family is planning to stay in Neverwinter until Simril, the annual winter festival on Nightal 20 four days away. Erric exclaims over wanting to stay for the celebration until he's reminded they are on a tight schedule and don't have the time to stop. Erric spends the rest of the day talking over and over about the two times he was able to be in Waterdeep for Simril.
The four leave the main road on the southern side of Neverwinter and head southeast toward the southern tip of the Neverwinter Wood. They make their way along small roads that are sometimes no more than cattle trails. Sometimes, they hike through the grasslands, making their own trail as they go. Overall, they are making good time and encountering little trouble. The day after they pass the southern tip of the Neverwinter Wood — which is ablaze with fall color — as they are marching along an east-west lane, they can see a crossroad not far ahead. On one corner of the crossroad is what appears to be a structure of some sort. The closer they get, the more in disrepair it looks. Jambiya asks Snap to fly over the area to make sure it isn't dangerous. The pseudodragon flies up above the crossroads to make a circuit. As the small dragon soars through the air, a spear is launched from behind some bushes on the side of the road opposite the structure. (Attack: 18 Damage: 7) The javelin catches the tiny creature, and it drops out of the sky, landing in what they can only guess is the road coming from the north (it is obscured by a hedge).
Here's what we're looking at:
The javelin came from the grass beyond where Snap fell.

Jambiya will rush to L9 (which should be the trunk of a tree) and use her boots of spider climbing to climb the tree her remaining 15' of movement, seeing if she can spot an enemy behind the hedge. If she can, she will fire off an Eldritch Blast. If she cannot, she will user her BA to climb further, and relay to the others what she sees.

Maldorn, with 30 feet, you can make it to L18. No, this isn't a forest. It is grassland with some trees. Looking around, you see four furry humanoids attempting to hide, but your keen eyes have picked them out (green, white, blue and red only).
Anafrey, you hear nothing in response to your request, but you ready an arrow.
Jambiya, you can get to the tree using 20 of your 30 feet. Walking up the tree 10 feet, you can see the tops of two furry humanoids hiding behind the first hedge and Snap lying in the road behind them. You point your new witchy stick at the (... green's closest) closest creature, and a blast of green-white energy cuts through the top of the hedge, hitting the creature behind it. (green -4 hp)

Whoops. I forgot the baddies are supposed to go before Erric. Erric, if you don't want to do what you just did after this post, feel free to scrap your post above.
Also, Anin should have responded to Anafrey. After she asks the dwarf where the enemies are hiding, she can feel a mixture of excitement and dread from her hitchhiker. His response to her question is one word: "Gnolls."
In response to Jambiya's attack, six creatures attack back. The (green) canine-looking humanoid stands up and throws a spear at Jambiya (who gets 1/2 cover by hiding behind the tree trunk). (Attack: 21 Damage: 5) The projectile goes wide, missing her and the tree completely. Before the gnoll can duck back down behind the hedge again, Anafrey lets go of her held arrow, but the creature twists out of the way at the last second and then disappears behind the bush. The (yellow) also lobs a spear at Jambiya. (Attack: 11 Damage: 7) This one flies by her on the other side just as the second creature ducks back down. Of the two creatures that stand up on the far side of the further hedge, one of them looks bigger and meaner. It points at Anafrey, and both it (white) and the (blue) humanoid shoot arrows at the white-haired woman. (Attack: 6 Damage: 2 & Attack: 10 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll.) One of the arrows hits while the other lands in the road at her feet. (42-9=33) Two creatures appear within the ruins and, seeing Maldorn approaching, throw one spear and fire one arrow at him (who gets 1/2 cover due to the trees). (Spear Attack: 5 Damage: 3 & arrow Attack: 8 Damage: 4) The hunter watches the spear arcing through the air at him, pleased by the bad aim. The smaller projectile, however, is launched outside of his notice until it is lodged in his thigh. (36-13=23)
Erric, now that you know where the six are (however hidden again since they all ducked back into their hiding spots), do you want to do something different?
Good to know! Yes, I think it'd be different, though that action may just come up later. Erric instead uses his bonus action to do "mantle of inspiration on all members of the party (5 temp hp, and you can use your reaction right now to move your full movement). He then casts dissonant whispers on the green gnoll for 6 psychic damage on a failed WIS 14 save. He uses his movement and then his reaction to move 50 feet, ideally 10 feet up the tree at P6, if possible, staying behind it like Jambiya did...

Anafrey would shake her head as she realizes they are fighting gnolls. "Nope, remember Anon... Remember what the gnolls did to you and your family. Remember why you made the flail.. to fight them. help me to fight them." She would say to Anon as the arrow strikes her. Wincing in pain and feeling the boost from Errik, she would quickly race to the road S21 and flank the gnolls to the north before firing an arrow towards the green gnoll.
Attack: 21 Damage: 10 Plus 2 because of Distracting Strike!
the next attack on the green gnoll has advantage until my next turn.

WIS save: 11 (green -4-6=-10)
Erric's form pulses with a faint warm glow, inspiring his entire party. They all feel extra healthy and invigorated! The halfling then sends a dissonant magical tune at the (green) gnoll, even though he can hardly see it. The magic takes effect, and though he can't see it, the gnoll bares its teeth in anguish. Hurrying with magical speed through the grass past Jambiya's tree, he quickly shimmies five feet up a different tree. (Erric's athletics to climb the tree: 19 — climbing is like difficult terrain, so it takes you 40 feet to reach the trunk and can climb five feet up using 10 feet of movement).
Maldorn also moves a little closer to the ruin, attempting to spy the two creatures that targeted him. (You can see them as they keep peeking out to see where you are, but then they duck back, so it translates to 1/2 cover, which is +2 to AC. Those of you hiding behind trees gain the same bonus to AC. Erric, you will require a hand to hold onto the tree, so loading your crossbow will not be possible. Jambiya, with your boots, both of your hands are free.)
Hold on, Anafrey. Maldorn posted his movement as a result of Erric's mantle of inspiration, not as his Round 2 turn. You can do the same. Would you like to move up to your full movement as your reaction to Erric's mantle? This would still be part of Round 1.
As I doubt any extra movement Anafrey might want to make will affect Maldorn's next actions, let's go ahead and progress to Round 2 with Anafrey already posting, but she also needs to let me know if she's going to move more in Round 1.
(End of Round 1) Anafrey starts heading southeast.
Round 2
Maldorn magically targets the (red) gnoll he can barely see hiding in the corner of the ruins. He then draws an arrow and fires, but the projectile clatters against the remains of the structure it is hiding behind.
Anafrey finishes hurrying southwest (you can get as far as R20 with your 60 feet of movement) and, looking up the road, can see the two gnolls hiding in the road behind the hedge. She draws an arrow and lets loose, whistling a quick whistle to grab the (green) creature's attention. Still hunkered, it turns to look at her. Without time to react, it gasps. The arrow pierces one of its eyes and is lodged somewhere in its brain or the inside of its skull. The creature collapses to the ground and a steady stream of blood begins to run from its ruined eye.
Jambiya, you're up!
